My MDA lost its signal and it can't seem to reacquire it. Is there anything I need to do? I had this problem before and it sometimes comeback after a soft reset but I have been doing that for the last 15 minutes and it is still out of service. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Do other phones on the same service work? One day i thought my phone was broken too. I kept losing signal. then i went to work and it worked fine. Turned out there was a problem with the tower by my house.
No it is not the tower. I experienced this problem a few times already. It would lose signal and then it would take it a long time for it to reacquire/register with Tmobile.
Sometimes it takes a 1 minute and sometimes it seems to never (i waited for 15 minutes and then I do a soft reset) come back.
I'm not sure if this has happened to TMo customers, but I know Cingular customers have experienced fried SIM cards. I've personally experienced this and had to get a new one from a Cingular store. Thankfully it was free. I experienced the same symptoms. My phone would never acquire signal, even after a hard reset. If you can, try your SIM in another phone, or better yet, try a different SIM in your MDA. Good luck.
I live in Canada and today I drove across to Buffalo NY. As soon as I crossed the border my phone started acting weird. I think it has something to do with the roaming. The HD just kept rebooting. No matter what I did to try getting it to work, including a soft reset taking the battery out and putting it back again nothing works. It just keeps rebooting. Anyone else has this issue?
I am trying a hard reset right now.
Some super high-tech american anti-HTC shield ? funny
hope the hard reset resolves the issue, indeed this is weird!
LMAO!! Let the conspiracy theories start!!
Actually before I did a hard reset I bought a prepaid SIM from an American phone company. I put it in and that worked. I turned the phone off and then turned it back on to make sure everything was kosher and same issue started again.
I just completed the hard reset and everything seems to be working now, but it was a weird day trying to get this damn thing working while roaming.
Hmmmm I live right outside of Buffalo.... maybe this explains the constant rebooting! --just kidding
I'm roaming all the time, because my home network doesn't have signal where I live, and I found no problem besides that ugly disgusting roaming icon.
Maybe it was one of the programs I installed?
I did a hard reset and I am slowly reloading everything right now, but so far it seems to be working okay.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Title related, it's how I rooted, and I've flashed some custom ROMs since then but it's happened before I did that as well as with every ROM I've flashed. I occasionally have an issue when conected to to 3G or 4G where my internet just won't load at all. Restarting the phone fixes the issue completely, but I'm left wondering if other data services such as call and text are also being affected during these times. I usually reboot my phone once or twice a day anyway, but I'm just wondering why this is happening, and if anyone else gets this issue, or knows a fix.
I'm having the same problem... I've wipe my while phone and put the same rom twice and it works in the beginning but after 2 days the problem starts again
I need help this is driving me insane!
I've been running Dynamic Kat Rom for about 6 months or so now. Everything was working fine then all of a sudden a week or two ago I noticed my mobile data is not enabling at all.
I can only connect on Wifi and only receive SMS.
I've tried
- Messing will all the data/network settings
- Turning Mobile Data on and off -- no effect
- Toggling Airplane Mode on and off as suggested in some places
- Wiping everything but Data and reflashing latest ROM
- Reseating the SIM card
- several other things I forgot..
I do see the carrier information in the top left (AT&T) and I am getting signal bars.. but not indicator for 4G/LTE/etc
I've been messing with this for a week now and it's driving me insane.. I can't get a connection anywhere unless I'm on Wifi.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not super phone savvy, but willing to try any suggestions anyone may have.
Hmmm.. weird.
So I called AT&T and asked them about it.. figuring it could possibly be a carrier issue.
They told me to try things I had already done 100 times.. turn the phone off and on.. turn wifi off... etc.
I turned Wifi off... (which I had done 50,000 times before) and 4G popped up.
I guess they did something. So.. guess it's resolved.
Problem has returned.. same issue. I will have 4G signal for hours and then all of a sudden it will drop completely and I can't get a data signal no matter what I do.
I see AT&T in the corner and have signal bars, so I AM getting some kind of signal.. but no data connection whatsoever.
It seems completely random and intermittent.. I can have data signal for days with no issues then I will lose it for days.
Restarting the phone 5-20 times sometimes fixes it.. but that's about it. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
Bad signal / carrier issue?
Call them and report a fault in your area?
I have called them multiple times, they will reset the signal.. sometimes it will come back right away, sometimes it wont.
And this happens regardless of where I am. I know for a fact where I am right now has a great signal strength. I get 4-5 bars on average. But this also happens at home as well about 20 miles away, which also has a good signal, or anywhere I go really it can happen. This isn't in the middle of nowhere either, it's smack in the middle of SoCal (LA/OC)
I'm beginning to think it may be a SIM card issue or a hardware issue with the phone. I'm going to try asking them to send me a new SIM card.
Another thing I will notice is when I have a working 4G LTE connection, and I'm on Wifi... it will sometimes CONSTANTLY switch back and forth between wifi and 4G like every 10 seconds, even when I have full signal strength on Wifi and 4G.
Disable Smart Network Switching in WiFi settings
it's nothing but a buggy headache, disabling might fix most of your problems, almost certainly the constant switching back and forth
Yeah forgot to mention I have disabled that. It's disabled now. It solves the constant switching back and forth (when I actually have a data connection), but that's kind of a separate issue as the losing data connection.
So i've bought my one plus 6t about 2 months ago and i've had this problem with the internet connection from the beginning. Basically after a period of using it (like 1 hour/1 hour and a half) the connection would stop working, completely... Wifi, data everything would stop working until i rebooted the phone and it got back to normal. After the upgrade to android 10.3.0 the problem seemed to be gone but i discovered later that it just "changed". Now sometimes the connection goes really bad (like doesn't even load a song from spotify) for like 1-5 minutes and than returns normal again; this loop can go on for a lot and it is really annoying.
I don't know what casued this problem in the beginning and why it's happening now. I think there might be a stock problem with the network card but i don't know for sure and i don't know how to check. I already reset the phone once (the partial one that keeps all the photos and data in the phone) after the 10.3.0 upgrade but the problem remains.
If someone knows how to fix this/why this is happening please help me, i really don't know what to do at this point.
I would do backup and factory reset if not you can send to oneplus centre but they will do that before any repairs anyway.
I have had a similar problem on 10.3.1 and at least 1 if not 2 updates prior to the this one.
What happens go for me though, is when at home, (haven't had it happen anywhere else), connected to wifi or not, the phone randomly loses all connection to my sim. It comes back almost instantly but still quite annoying and until this post I haven't heard of it happening to anyone else, not that I have come across, at least.
And I know it's not because of where I'm at in the house or anything cause I've had the phone a year now and the problem just started within the last month or so.
Insight on this would be awesome.
I have also noticed weird connectivity drops to no service and back. that only happens rarely and will restore i seconds. havent annoyed me that much that i needed to do something about it. I travel lots with train, and when this happens on train it seems to have more difficult to connect back. it does eventually but might be enough to drop streaming music from playing.
There is definitely something going on with Oneplus and APNs. (OP7 sms and mms issues etc)
I Recommend doing a full backup with Oneplus Switch and restoring factory defaults. Then you can restore backup. Most likely fixes issue that bad to same condition as ours. if it doesnt, take it to warranty.
