Wifi problem with last Pie version - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

I updated my mi a1 from Oreo to Pie 10.0.7.0.
Now some apps don't function properly in wifi connection (for example some bank apps don't connect after login or Amazon shopping app not showing Pages). If i connect by mobile line all is ok.
Why?
I saw that wifi in general is slow now in Pie 10.0.7.0. In Oreo it was better than now. Now also browsing in some pages with browser, i can see them only partially

Or you can use wifi 5ghz and problem solved

I don't use bluetooth and i already use 5Ghz wifi, but the problem is here

I have poor wifi range on 5ghz and 2.4ghz. when I'm far away from the router about one bar of wifi, I get about 0-2mbps. I'm never getting another Xiaomi Android one phone ever!

[Q] Tethering pc internet to use windows phone as wifi router through USB

Ok... i've a samsung Omnia i900 and i wanna use it as a wifi router tethering my PC internet through USB... any suggestions??
if you have windows mobile 6.5 or older you only need to connect your device through activesync and then you go into "connection settings" (or something like that) and you can share internet by selecting computer connected to internet (or something simlar).
then you have internet on your device, so you can use any app like "wifi router" to share the connection with other devices..
i don't know how fast it is doing it this way, but it should work!
I tried that but no luck! could u be more specific... i have win 6.5
I have the same problem.
Can any body help? I have HD2
download phm registry editor ,,, theres an instructural video posted on youtube ,,, visit it for the settings as i forgot ,,, but it works well,,, on wifi or on the go. You could also load in xdandroid froyo and use the hotspot feature,, thats also awesome1
use wm wifirouter (www.wmwifirouter.com) ... works flawlessly and can let you use the Phone as a usb pc modem (send or receIve data) using eitheR the gprs-3g datA or The phonE's wifi.
find it at the closest harbor... ARRrr
Android Wifi connection
I have installed the WMWifiRouter software on my ATT Tilt II and it works fine with a WIN 7 Tablet and my XP Notebook, both USB and wireless.
My two androids refuse to show the signal although the wifi scanner app shows good signal.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the HTC 7 Tab both show
"WMWifiRouter_2563 not in range, remembered"
I need a cure if you know one.

YouTube not working???

I'm having trouble getting YouTube to work over my WiFi. Works great with 3g. I am connected to the airave sprint signal booster. My current setup is the Comcast modem is connected to the wan port of the signal booster, and the lan port is connected to the router (the same port you would connect the modem to when setting up WiFi).
Anyways when I am connected to the signal booster YouTube doesnt work over WiFi. I connect the modem to my router, and leave the signal booster disconnected, it works fine. Any tips?

With the setup which doesn't work with YT what speeds do you get using SpeedTest from speedtest.net?

To me it looks like a problem with routing.
May be you have some kind of a proxy server in your network.
What is the OS you are using?
Have a similar problem with my Defy being on campus Wifi, with a proxy.
Working on Android 2.2 Foryo. I have set the proxy in values, the browser and some of the apps work.
But, most apps including YouTube do not work through proxy.
I guess I need to upgrade to 2.3 for that, not sure though. And too lazy to try.

Incidentally, few days back was trying out the x86 ICS 4.0.4 (for Asus Netbook) form android-x86 org
on my Acer Aspire One D260.
It also faced the same issue of no YouTube working. But, in this case many more apps were working.
Still missing out on the Hotmail, Kindle and Skype apps on x86.
Looking for some help on that.

S4 will not automatically connect to 5Ghz Wi-FI Network

Anyone experiences this bug with the GS4 too?
When I toggle Wi-Fi off and on, it does not automatically connect to my 5GHz network. Instead, it just says 'Saved, Secured'. I must manually select the network before it connects to it.
However, for 2.4GHz networks, toggling Wi-Fi off and on will automatically search for a 2.4Ghz to connect.
Anybody?

OK - just solved it. Go to your router settings for the 5GHz network and change the channel from "Auto" to 36 or 44 - both are reportedly working fine for another reported Samsung glitch but I'm guessing the real problem here is the "Auto" setting. Hope it helps.
Wow! Thanks! Now it works like a charm. What is the reported Samsung glitch btw?
Worked!
Thank you. The problem for me was on my GS3 (d2spr). My 2.4GHz would connect but the 5GHz would stay saved and not connect.
All the recent Roms that I flash have this problem. When I flashed back to the older roms, the 5GHz worked fine. Changing the channel worked.

Thanks I have been having problems with my Galaxy Note 2 not auto connecting to my N 5Ghz working 100% now from changing setting from auto to 36 or 44 awesome
Turns out it's because of this:

There's a better fix for this.
In /system/etc/wifi there are two files:
nvram_net.txt and nvram_net.txt.us
The installed one is for Great Britain, and the other one (.us) is for the United States.
Rename nvram_net.txt to nvram_net.txt.gb and rename nvram_net.txt.us to nvram_net.txt
This makes two changes. changes "ccode" to "ccode=US" and adds "regrev=5".

The above method worked for me, but I experimented and found a possible better solution:-
My Talktalk router uses the same SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. I tried changing the SSID for the 5GHz band by adding "5GHZ" to the end of the name.
The phone fails to detect the SSID when scanning for networks, however if on the phone wi-fi settings page I scroll to the end, click Add a Network, manually enter the new SSID, select the correct security method and enter the password, the phone connects.
Thereafter, if I turn wi-fi off and on, the phone then always connects automatically to the 5GHz SSID.
Both SSIDs are now displayed in the list of networks previously accessed, so I can switch from one to the other if needed.

Home Wifi Problems

Hi,
I don't know if I can have any help with this issue but I have nowhere else to go for this. I am having problems with my GS5 loading the Play Store and Facebook mainly on my home Wifi. I connect it to other Wifi networks at work or elsewhere and don't experience these same issues. Now on Wifi the browser works fine and everything else works fine when I download, play online games on the phone, etc. Facebook wont load pretty much anything on Wifi (rarely it does but its slow) and the play store will lo extremely slow and be spotty while connected to Wifi in the home. Is anyone else experiencing this issue and if so do you know a fix for this. Any help is greatly appreciated and appreciate all answers and responses in advance!
Try resetting your modem/router

If it works on other networks it most be something with yours
Actually I do have this same problem...thought it was just me. I didn't really notice the Play Store doing it, but Facebook is horrible about it. It works perfectly fine at work, or any other wifi I have tried. I have no idea what causes it... any ideas would be great!
I spent the first few days after buying the s5 trying to figure this same issue out. I even returned the phone for a new s5 thinking it was defective.
The solution: I had to update the firmware on my home router (dlink). After updating the firmware everything worked perfect.

I have tried checking for new versions of firmware on my router and there isn't one. Tried rebooting and resetting the router even put back to factory settings and still no luck. Tried it on the regular network and the 5GHZ network and my download speeds on WiFi are insane and have run a speed test. Even get online and download files and everything without hesitation. Just the play store and Facebook mainly have been doing it and I can't figure it out.

Is there a computer at home you can try with Facebook to help isolate the problem to your router? If it runs great from a PC you will know that it is a combination of your phone on your network. If you are using a FB app have you tried FB from a browser.

Sounds like it may be some security issues on the router, try turning things off one at a time and see if it helps then you will pinpoint the culprit!

new t580 (2016) Internet lag

Just got a 10.1 tab a6 for Xmas and despite it being nearly empty, Web browsing is depressingly laggy. I've checked on my other devices and the house conection is fine however, when clicking links, I get pauses of up to 10 seconds as if the request is being routed through a proxy or some kind of link security checker. Is there some kind of undocumented Samsung bloat ware or is there an issue with the firmware? Other than the net, the tab runs great.
I just got a Tab A 7.0.
Haven't experienced many issues except for the screen screwing up and refusing to work like my other budget device.
Try restarting it, or disconnecting then reconnecting to the Internet. If not, try a different browser. Maybe that'll fix it.
same here with a t585. Since some days the internet browsing is laggy... already wiped data/cache on stock rom... very sad.
edit: it could be somehow wifi related since the lag is there also using other web based apps.
I have found the problem: the wifi module.
the issue completely disappears as soon as I switch wifi off and I use the 4g connection.
now the point is: it is router related or tablet related?
my router works perfectly with all the other devices...

partially solved.
delete your current wifi connection; create a new one manually, with a static ip address, global & local DNS and all parameters to "facilitate" a steady connection.
For me this worked to get rid of lags.
