My question is where can I find an option to accept notifications for just a couple apps (smartthings and arlo) during my do not disturb time. I remember there was somewhere before pie on my s8 plus but can't find anything on the s10 plus.
Nevermind. I just dug a little deeper and found the answer in notifications, clicked on specific app, then notifications again, ignore do not disturb. If anyone else needs help with it.

Hey this question seems simple initially, but how do you disable SystemUI notifications? I'm talking about that grey notification that shows up on the lower part of your screen right over your keyboard. Whenever I start downloading something or quickly switch apps, it always seems to pop up and display some stupid arbitrary message. It's incredibly ANNOYING when you need to type something quickly and it's covering your keyboard. Does anyone know how to disable this? I've been using Android for over 5 years and I still haven't been able to figure this out lol.
I'm not sure if you're rooted or anything and I haven't tried it directly, but you can try the EnhancedToast Xposed Module. By description, it'll log the messages that display and then you can disable them as you see fit. Give it a look here EnhancedToast I hope this helps!
I'm not sure if this is an LG or Nougat thing, but it's seriously annoying. Whenever I use the phone and I get a notification of any kind, it pops down from the status bar (why can't it just go straight to the 2nd screen???) and persists for a few seconds unless I action it or dismiss.
Is there a setting within notifications or apps themselves to make them go straight to the 2nd screen?

Mine pop into the 2nd screen. What app is causing it? I know Textra was doing that until I disabled the pop up notification

Snapchat and Whatsapp are examples. What sort of notification settings do you have? Are you silencing any apps?

Not silencing anything, I just adjusted the Textra to not show the floating reply.
I don't use Whatsapp so can't speak to any settings in there and my Snapchat I have set to Vibrate only(turned wake screen off). Don't get a lot of Snapchat chats so never noticed if its a pop up notification or not

Weird - I found out that "Silencing" notifications is the only way to get them to not pop up... but then I don't get a vibrate.
System UI is a "hidden" feature of Nougat that LG decided to axe, which is extremely frustrating because it has the EXACT functionality someone needs to have full control over their notifications.

Yeah I want that system UI because in it you can do percent in battery notification so it's not next to the battery
It actually started with Marshmallow and was pretty popular due to the simple tweaks it can do that everyone wants. Unfortunately it seems to be more of a carrier issue with disabling it. Regardless, disabling peeking should be a basic option in settings from day 1. Not a super hidden feature in Andriod M and a above with no guarantee of staying. Textra is nice enough to have its own setting. Why other apps do not is baffling.
Someone finding a way to get to the System UI tuner settings would be amazing. As it is now there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off ONLY peeking/heads up notifications that I have been able to find. Maybe HeadsOff will be compatible with N before long.
I can't reply to any notifications in my notifications panel. How do I turn it back on?
Still not getting all my notifications to appear on AOD. I've only seen texts, missed call, and weirdly and Imgur notification on there. No Gmail, Snapchat, or Google Voice. I thought this was updated like the Note 7 to show every notification icon in AOD now. Are there some settings I'm missing? Or is there a better alternative to the native AOD?

It works for me. Shows notifications for every app and I didn't change any settings. Did you simply take an OTA or did you do a clean update?

Just took the OTA and kept on goin. I'm also getting double text notifications sometimes too which is weird. You say you get all icons when you get a noti? Even Snapchat, Gmail, and Hangouts?

Yes, I remember getting them with all, except hangouts because I don't use it. I actually turned the AOD off because I was getting battery drain since nougat, but that didn't help

Make sure in Settings - Notifications, you have the apps turn ON that you want to get notifications for.
I have noticed in the 2 factory resets I've done since the Android 7.0 update, Notification access is defaulted OFF for Always On Display. To check this, make sure AOD is turned on first, then go into Settings - Lock screen and security - Other security settings - Notification access to make sure AOD is set to ON.

I was actually able to figure it out last night. I had some wonky settings in Settings > Lock Screen & Security > Notifications on Lock Screen. Had a lot of random apps with notifications on like Barcode Scanner, a Ruler app, and Rear-Facing Camera. But apps that you would expect to get notifications from like Gmail, Sanpchat, and Hangouts were un-checked. Kind of a misleading name for these toggles as they are not controlling whats on the lock screen, but on the off screen.
I've wanted a smartwatch for a while and decided to try the No.1 S9. The most important thing was the notifications.
As advertised, it does push notifications but we only see the date/time along with the sender's name. There's no way to see the notification's text? What's the point if I need to go pick up my phone to read the text?
Am I missing something?
I read that people had issues since Nougat. I took my Samsung S Tab that runs Marshmallow and sent myself a notification. Indeed, the notification appeared will full text.
Apparently Google changed something in the way notifications are delivered. Perhaps this has something to do with it. Unfortunate.
Someone at work mentioned LineageOS. If Nougat is the problem about notifications on my watch, can Lineage be the solution? Is Lineage sending the notifications the same was Nougat does (bundled)?
I don't want to risk bricking my S7 for nothing.
When I have a default notification sound set in my S8, I get a ton of notification sounds, but nothing in the notification bar. It's extremely annoying. I turned off all the app notifications I could, but it didn't help.
I also tried Do Not Disturb with custom exceptions so I would only get notifications for the apps I want, but they are still silent.
Is there a third party app that will mimic what Samsung's DND is supposed to be doing or a way to shut off the phantom notifications?
I'm really starting to hate this phone. For several reasons.

Hello,
I have not had the same issue as you but I've definitely had problems with things syncing on time or out of order. I'm sure you already have, but be sure to dig deep into phone notification settings but individual app settings as well to see if anything is off. If you run the internal app closer, does the issue still occur? Worst case scenario, you could factory reset your phone and see if that corrects the issue.
