[Q] Video's Pausing Every 1 Minute

I have a rooted s5 on. I've been having issues with streaming videos pausing roughly every minute. I first noticed this in the Youtube app, but it happens for all applications that stream video. I am 100 percent certain that this is not a buffering issue and it is not related to smart pause which I have triple checked is not active. Any theories as to what's causing this?

I actually just figured it out. It was being caused by an Android Wear email checking app called Wear Mail. Every time the app checks the server for new emails, it causes whatever video streaming service that I have running to pause.

S7 Edge stops music streaming after screen locks

Hi, I have S7 Edge, I'm trying to stream music with internet radio app but it's stop streaming after 2-5 minutes when screen is locked.
I tried many internet radio apps but it happens with all kind of apps, so I think it's a phone issue.
P.S: I tired to play with power saving options in phone settings but it doesn't help.
So I asking if someone have the same issue, or maybe someone knows how to fix it?

Are you connected through mobile data or wifi?
And the same happens on both connections?

On both connections happens the same.

I stream music through soundcloud and it works fine on both. Did you enable restricted background data ?

Yes it's enabled, but it happens on Wifi also, so I don't think it's related to restricted background data.
I can try to disable/turn it off if you think it can help.

Go to settings, battery, app power saving and select energy saving disabled for your radio app (menu items translated from Italian, may be different in English).

As I wrote already did it, it doesn't helps, still it stops streaming

On Wifi, started my Xiialive Pro radio app, selected a station, turned screen off and waited more than 5 minutes: no stop in audio streaming.
Anyway, I use only screen off on S7E, no screen lock enabled, general battery saving plan disabled, Exynos model.

Ok, I think that I found what causes this problem, I have Greenify app, i disabled the auto sleep mode in app settings and now it's working I think.
The point is that radio apps wasn't in greenify hibernation list, but still they was affected by Greenify auto sleep mode. Interesting.

Pandora keeps closing since 9.0.5

After about 20 minutes, Pandora keeps closing. Battery management for the app is off. I've tried uninstalling, restarting the phone, but nothing has helped.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yep. Already tried turning off battery optimizing for pandora and giving it the proper permissions.... I suspect it is due to oos aggressive battery mgmt

I've had the same issue with Google Play Music. The only solution I have found so far is to lock the app in memory. After that, I've never had issues with it just closing randomly.

No issues at all with Pandora. I'm on 9.0.11. I have the app set to optimize, but I've got adaptive battery turned off because reasons.

I experience this all the time with the direct from Oneplus 6T. However, my wife's T-mobile 6T doesn't do this. What the heck?

No issues here. May be Pandora's problem. Maybe they need to fix the app.

Was experiencing the same thing. I turned my background restriction off under battery usage, seems to be fixed on mine now. Nope shut down again

Apps stop working fix on armor phone. Mine is armor 6E
Press app main button near your home button. Then you can either swipe away running apps or press one of the two buttons which are clear all, or go into running apps settings (same screen, not main settings). This allows you to either have all apps stop after a certain time or individually have apps turn off automatically once screen times out after a certain amount of time. I hope this helps! Took me forever to find.

I agree with this post. I also noticed that when using pandora while using the waze navigation app that you can skip or pause but, are not able to replay a song. I have contacted both pandora and, waze about this issue and, they just blame each other. In the end no fix. I have pandora plus btw

I understand this may only help a few people, but what fixed it for me was going to settings > battery > adaptive battery > restricted apps... And then removing Pandora (from the list I forgot I added it to, upon the phone's prior suggestion)

Help: WiFi turns itself off in idle mode

Hi all,
I have a new S5e and I'm happy to report there are no problems with the WiFi when holding it in landscape mode.
The tablet does lose the WiFi connection when in idle mode.
I use Youtube Minimizer from the Google Play store and I was noticing how the songs don't keep playing after each other.
Now when I turn the screen back on I see there's no WiFi connection and that it automatically comes back up after a second or two, allowing the app to play music again.
Edit: Mods, I just realized I should've posted this in Questions and Answers, my apologies, feel free to shift the thread
I've went through all menus/settings I could think of, including allowing the app to use the battery in the background. I haven't found the setting to keep the WiFi connection on even in sleep mode though.
Any suggestions on what I could do to fix this?
Any way to download the WiFi logs and see what causes it to lose the connection?

i have the same issue.. and was going to post it here, but you already did.... after X amount of hours i not longer hear the sound for incoming messages until i turn the screen on, or other things.. then once the WiFi reconnects bam a ton of noise as it tries to play multiple missed messages

[Solved] Screen won´t turn off - only dim down

Anyone else having a bug where the screen does'nt turn off after the designated time out is reached? I have set mine to 15 seconds but it only dims down after 7 seconds and remains dimmed forever and ever.
Only way to get phone to work normally is to restart it. But the bug keeps coming back every day, sometimes serveral times a day.
Now I have to turn off screen manually by pressing the powerbutton.
Update Solution:
I actually had locked(in recents) Edge browser into the memory so it always would be available lightning fast. I just unlocked and closed it from recents app, and now the screen shuts off normally. Apparantly there was probably a hidden ads-page active somewhere keeping the screen from shutting off properly.

Not much, only the Force all apps to be resize:able.
The screen awake while charging is off. USB-debbuging also.

I have encountered this bug occasionally, a few times this happened some web page was open (No video was playing) not sure if this was the case with you sometimes some ads or something on the web page can keep the browser active. I did not think much of it nor explored it much but will keep an eye out if it reoccurs.

Turn off Developer options for now.
Does it happen in Safe Mode?
Make sure a 3rd party app isn't the cause.
Clear system cache on the boot menu.

Big Thanks! I actually had locked Edge browser, Telegram and File Manager+ into the memory so they would never be killed off. I just unlocked and removed them all, and now the screen shuts off normally. What a relief [emoji846]!
Using Adguard adblock and Edge content blocker so it might have been a hidden ad of sorts keeping phone screen active.

Glad it worked, I suggest copy paste above text, what you observed the reason was for this to happen and what you did to fix it and add that information to the first post. Trust me it will help many.
