Can't relock bootloader with
Code:
fastboot oem lock
fastboot says boot.img is not signed
I tried the boot img from PPO29.0114-16-5, PPO29.0114-16, and PPO29.80-61. All it says are unsigned.
Now system update says this (screenshot attached):
Head on over to https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds101291 and download the tool, after installed put your phone in bootloader/fastboot mode and go through the rescue steps up until the firmware is downloaded, do not click rescue after the firmware is fully downloaded just head on over to C:\ProgramData\LMSA\Download\RomFiles and open the downloaded firmware and take the boot image from there and copy it to your fastboot tools folder and flash that boot.img check that the firmware matches the version installed on your phone before flashing the boot.img.

Yes.
I tried this and when I flashed boot.img from LMSA I got `(bootloader) Image signed with key bad key`
And then on the last fastboot oem lock command I get `(bootloader) Still require signed boot.img`

I will let you know Im in the same situation as you. I unlocked the bootloader to root my device. But after trying what was available couldn't root my device. Not even patching the boot.img with magisk as the tutorial says. It didn't worked for me and it soft bricked my device so I decided to go back and locked the bootloader but this is the first time that I have an issue locking back a Motorola bootloader I don't know what moto did this time but things don't work as before. Im downloading the firmware through this tools and see if its any different to the firmware available at lolinet repository. If it work with the boot.img from this zip its downloading then it meas that the latest firmware available at lolinet is not the final or not signed or anything. lets see I let you know.

So what are you doing and what actually happens when you attempt to re-lock? Keep in mind that you need to run the fastboot oem lock command multiple times.

Out of curiosity, since I am not familiar with the Lenovo/MOTO software tool, why can't you just hit recover? If the goal is to go back to full factory, from the box condition? Does it do something bad if you have an unlocked bootloader?
moto almost bricked
Hi guys i have a g7 (river) i tried to unlock the bootloader and root the devices to install android 10 launcher with animations.
and i was able root it with magisk and also installed twrp now my problem is my device is stuck and all i can access is "android recovery mode" i tried flashing official rom latest version

Does anyone help how to lock the bootloader moto g7 play?
How can I lock the bootloader back, every time I try to code the '' fastboot oem lock '' several times says that the error, someone can help me undo this:

I can try and help...
Are you running stock firmware?
You can get official firmware from Lenovo assistant.
Once it is installed, the only thing left is locking.
Do a factory reset after your phone is flashed and do your dev options stuff.
What is your region... What state is your phone in?
Give as much info and steps as possible.

yes, I installed the firmware from lenovo's program, turned off the phone, plugged in the pc and opened adb, typed '' fastboot oem lock '' 3x and nothing happened, says I need a similar developer permission;(
Ok. You still need to turn on developer options and usb debugging. After going back to stock, do the dev options stuff and then plug into your computer and make sure to get the screen where you can always trust the pc... Then adb reboot bootloader from there.
Give that a go!

What you need:
Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Stock ROM Alternative 1 (Faster option)
Stock ROM Alternative 2 (Downloads speed are super slow if you are not premium)
Moto fastboot (mfastboot.exe) (This one is only needed if the file system.img is too big to flash (More than 500MB))
Steps:
Connect your phone to your computer and make sure to have "USB Debugging" enabled (About phone > Tap several times "Build number" > Go back > Developer options > Enable USB debugging)
Make sure your phone is at least 50% charged
Open ADB cmd (MAF32.exe)
Run this command to make sure it recognizes your phone.
Code:
adb devices
After it recognizes it, run the command (It should reboot into bootloader)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Unzip the downloaded STOCK ROM into the same folder as where you installed minimal ADB (C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot)
Open the "flashfile.xml" file with any text editor
The file tells you how to flash the files into your phone

Not everybody uses windows. I am a linux user, so no RSDLite is available. Also not available for mac. This guide is great for people who can't use RSDLite or need to do specific steps only instead of blindly trusting RSDLite.

I think "Modified" means you unlocked the bootloader, right?
I used to successfully update my xt1095 to 5.1 by these steps:
unroot by using the uninstalling root function in the SEusers, and flash the stock recovery.img back.
download the OTA update, and let it flash my phone automatically.
got a stock 5.1. then you may do whatever you want.

RSD Lite works perfectly in Windows 10.
I followed these steps, and reflashed to 5.1-21.3, then update to 21.6 (security patch).
Now I'm running 6.0! The OTA works!
We def need to get this stock image re-upped, because I could get gray hairs waiting for this to download... Anyone have any other links? Thanks
help!!! I downloaded the recovery image from the official motorola site, i have system image of 2 Gb and have no idea about how to flash the system image. I have a folder called windows(which was included in the recovery image zip that i downloaded) that folder contains a fastboot.exe file so is that the mfastoot file?If yes then how do i use it?
EDIT- Solved!

Can confirm, this is the real deal. Works a treat, and none of those RPC errors that plagued me on the TWRP backup image.
I am on Brazilian frimware with 6.0 now on my device, but my actual model of the device is xt 1092 Indian version.
I want to go back to Indian frimware. Have anyone tried downgrading from 6.0 Brazilian frimware to 5.1 Indian frimware, is it possible? Is full image of 6.0 out for xt 1092, if so please share the link.

Yes - via fastboot
I don't know why you would want to change though
You risk either not getting ota updates or potentially hard bricking your device if you flash a future ota update if you have flashed firmware that was not designed for your phones specific varient
Unless you have physically moved locations & the firmware you are using is not compatible with the countries mobile networks I see no benefits in changing firmware versions

RSD Lite only emulates Fastboot inside the application.
Idk if you can flash the stock rom with an locked bootloader, if it is signed, you can, otherwise, no.
Are you on a 64bit rom ? If yes please read on!
Us developers have had reports of you guys loosing imei number. We can re gain your imei number however you will no longer have 4g.
HERES HOW TO FIX LOSS OF IEMI
Install 32 bit twrp
Go back to stock with fastboot method using full commands
Fastboot 32 bit twrp
Flash no verity zip
Reboot twrp
Wipe data
reboot recovery
Install 64 bit twrp
Reboot recovery
Install any 8.1 ROM
Reboot on first boot.
IF U DO NOT FLASH 32 BIT TWRP YOU WILL NOT GAIN IMEI NUMBER BACK
*THE CAUSE*
THE MAIN CAUSE OFF LOSSING IMEI IS FASTBOOTING STOCK WHILST HAVING 64BIT RECOVERY , ROM AND MODEM SO MOVE TO 32BIT BEFORE FLASHING STOCK . I REALLY DONT RECOMMEND YOU GO BACK TO STOCK UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.STOCK FLASHIBLE WILL NOT LOOSE IMEI!
I'm just staying on a fully working 7.1.2 rom until an official oreo rom comes out, I'd say that's the wisest choice at this time.

This would be up to Lenovorola, whether or not they want to provide a fix for a flaw in their phones design
What interests me, is the varying degrees of severity. Some have no issues, some lost only VOLTE, some lose 4G/VOLTE altogether. It's well past time for an official statement from the developers of the phone. Maybe it's why an official Oreo update is taking so long and they are hiding behind the "your fault, you unlocked your phone" banner instead of acknowledging their ineptitude, whether purposefully or not, really messed up some of these devices.
Lol. A design flaw...... seriously? We are talking about custom roms NOT about an official software from Motorola! =))

I installed stock ROM and bazinga... Without SIM signal... I am very sad...
I will stay in Lineage, because the things that not work are less important ... At least I have SIM signal...

OMG! Thnks!
I spend all day, testing a bunch of solutions and finally I have my phone back, thank you a lot, I can confirm that this works, tomorrow im gonna focus on get the 4G back, if something works, I let you guys know
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/how-to/how-to-recovery-4g-moto-g5-t3787208 this tutorial saved my 4G signal :good:
Just a little edit: for getting H+ signal in first step, I recommend installing PixelExperience ROM (based on Android 8.1.0) along with LATEST 64bit TWRP.
PixelExperience for G5: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/development/rom-pixelexperience-t3756673
TWRP x64 for G5: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=236353
No verity opt (flashable TWRP zip, I recommend version 6.0, use in case if you are installing TWRP on stock ROM- without flashing this file on first run of TWRP, stock ROM won't boot): https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/
EDIT2: It may take a little bit longer to establish network after boot with restored EFS (for me, it took almost 30 seconds). If phone logins into 3G network, just go to settings and make it search for all possible networks in range (there should be your 4G network also).
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE, YOU ARE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I'm currently stuck in a bootloop with a rooted (Prime Exclusive) Moto G5 Plus. Download your actual firmware, unpack it into your fastboot folder (recommend: Minimal ADB & Fastboot), bring your device in fastboot mode and flash everything one after the other:
Code:

fastboot flash logo logo.bin

@Wolfcity Can you be more clear as to what you mean by my "actual firmware"? I'm not sure what firmware version my device is on, nor can I find any repository on the Internet to download said firmwares for the (Prime Exclusive) Moto G5 Plus.

As you have flashed a TWRP you must have your bootloader unlocked. You need the firmware that your device was on when you did that.
Downgrading i.e. flashing an older firmware can brick your device.
The newer firmwares for reteu/retus are ending on 93-x, like
POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-4 (january security patch)
POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-8 (march security patch)
POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-10 (april security patch)
Earlier ones had another number scheme.
Firmware for India, Brazil and Asia Pacific is ending on 92-x.
I don´t know the Prime exclusive edition but I don´t think that it uses another firmware. But I heard of a Amazon version with ads and an unlockable bootloader?
How did you unlock then? Or are there different versions?
@Wolfcity I really don't know how to respond, but I can't figure this out. I don't know what firmware version to install, I don't know where I can find the firmware version, and whenever I try to run a fastboot command through adb I get stuck on an infinite "waiting for device" message. Can you please help me with step-by-step instructions on how to fix this?

Here are some firmware sources:
https://androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=171014
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
http://www.filefactory.com/folder/c6cdedc45a775d27/?sort=created&order=DESC&show=25&page=1
I can´t tell you on which firmware you were when you unlocked your bootloader. And the next problem is that you can´t run any fastboot commands, you need fastboot to flash the stock firmware with the commands I posted above.
Have you the latest Motorola drivers and something like Minmal ADB & Fastboot installed?
1) from TWRP run "Bootloader reboot"
2) send the command "fastboot devices" receive the serial number of the phone. Once you have obtained the serial download "POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-4_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.info.txt" and execute the commands as suggested.
@Wolfcity, @antonio52 Thank you guys SO much! I finally got around to doing this, and my device is running perfectly well now! I couldn't have done it without you!

Things are changing with the advent of project treble and seamless updates. OnePlus will no longer release ROMs flashable via recovery (either stock) because is no more needed. The updates will be done on the slot not used for example if you are using slot a the update will be installed on slot b and the slot b will be set as default. If you brick and you are in bootloop how you can restore the rom? You can't with Stock ROM you have, because the zip can be only installed via Update Engine, so what can you do? Flash a stock rom via fastboot. I have extracted all images from the stock zip and i have made a new zip with the Fastboot ROM with a flash-all.bat included. This will work only if your bootloader is unlocked. This will erase all your data and will wipe your internal storage.
HOW TO FLASH
This version is only for not branded devices
Download the zip;
Unpack the zip in a folder;
Reboot the OnePlus 8 in fastboot-bootloader mode (Power and volume + and volume-);
Connect the OnePlus 8 to PC;
Run flash-all.bat flasher you need;
Wait until the process end;
The phone will automatically reboot.

Hi guys, i'm here again to ask for your support, actually with android 10 Google introduced a lot of changing, from dynamic partitions to the new keymaster 4 encryption/decryption. Teamwin is working hard to update TWRP but they will still take some time. Currently some things already work but there are difficulties in bringing them to the OnePlus 8/8 Pro, for example decryption already works but creates some problems on the OnePlus devices. That's why I decided to create a Paypal moneybox to be able to bring you the latest updates in the shortest time possible. As I have previously done, I assure you of a support of at least 2 years (within the limits of my possibilities). In addition to the TWRP I will improve the fastboot roms and add OnePlus 8/8 Pro to my TOOL ALL IN ONE (and maybe I will also bring the RevengeOS). By getting hold of a OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro I will also be able to improve the TWRP for OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro.

If you are unable to participate in the PayPal moneybox, you can make a normal donation (perhaps specifying that it is for the moneybox), however all private donations that I will receive for this or other projects will be included in the moneybox.

I think unbranded devices mean the device bought from T-Mobile or Verizon. Nothing to do with chinese versiion flash oxygenOS, if I'm not wrong.
Can't seem to get this to work. I'm trying to flash a stock rom for my OnePlus 8 after bricking it during a rooting process.
The device' bootloader is obviously unlocked and i can get the phone into Fastboot mode and connected to my PC.
The only issue is when i execute the flash-all.bat file, it can't seem to flash any of the files and gives an error consisting of the message "FAILED (remote: 'Flashing is not allowed for Critical Partitions').
What to do guys? Can anyone help me out.
Does anyone know where to find mobile oneplus 8 5g tmobile from mine is bricked I had same error as post above

Because it is placed in userdata and not in a dedicated partition
I have an issue trying to flash on fastboot. It's says I can't flash on critical partitions. Yes I know alot of people are saying that but what I haven't seen is this:
This is my problem:
Fastboot get device-info
(Bootloader) device unlocked:true
(Bootloader) device critical unlock: false
(Bootloader) charger screen enabled: true
I have already tried "fastboot flashing unlock_critical"
It says bootloader already unlocked. I then re lock bootloader which I know is not a good idea( reflash stock with msm tool) and it lock then I try unlock critical command again and it still says device critical unlock: false
i need help please ..

Unbrick from fastboot method
I hope I can help someone since I spent the whole night trying various methods to unbrick my Oneplus 8 and only this one worked for me JUST FOR INTERNATIONAL VERSION
You must have the drivers installed (Adb & Fastboot)
You must have your phone with the bootloader unlocked
1.- Download the file
2.-Unzip it
inside you will find Flash-all.bat
3.-Enter Fastboot mode
4.-Double click on the Flash-all.bat command
5.-It will direct you to the recovery, select the English language and restart in fastboot mode so that the process continues, wait for it to finish flashing everything and ready, the phone restarts on the latest version
