Things are changing with the advent of project treble and seamless updates. OnePlus will no longer release ROMs flashable via recovery (either stock) because is no more needed. The updates will be done on the slot not used for example if you are using slot a the update will be installed on slot b and the slot b will be set as default. If you brick and you are in bootloop how you can restore the rom? You can't with Stock ROM you have, because the zip can be only installed via Update Engine, so what can you do? Flash a stock rom via fastboot. I have extracted all images from the stock zip and i have made a new zip with the Fastboot ROM with a flash-all.bat included. This will work only if your bootloader is unlocked. This will erase all your data and will wipe your internal storage.
HOW TO FLASH
This version is only for not branded devices
Download the zip;
Unpack the zip in a folder;
Reboot the OnePlus 8 in fastboot-bootloader mode (Power and volume + and volume-);
Connect the OnePlus 8 to PC;
Run flash-all.bat flasher you need;
Wait until the process end;
The phone will automatically reboot.

Hi guys, i'm here again to ask for your support, actually with android 10 Google introduced a lot of changing, from dynamic partitions to the new keymaster 4 encryption/decryption. Teamwin is working hard to update TWRP but they will still take some time. Currently some things already work but there are difficulties in bringing them to the OnePlus 8/8 Pro, for example decryption already works but creates some problems on the OnePlus devices. That's why I decided to create a Paypal moneybox to be able to bring you the latest updates in the shortest time possible. As I have previously done, I assure you of a support of at least 2 years (within the limits of my possibilities). In addition to the TWRP I will improve the fastboot roms and add OnePlus 8/8 Pro to my TOOL ALL IN ONE (and maybe I will also bring the RevengeOS). By getting hold of a OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro I will also be able to improve the TWRP for OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro.

If you are unable to participate in the PayPal moneybox, you can make a normal donation (perhaps specifying that it is for the moneybox), however all private donations that I will receive for this or other projects will be included in the moneybox.

I think unbranded devices mean the device bought from T-Mobile or Verizon. Nothing to do with chinese versiion flash oxygenOS, if I'm not wrong.
Can't seem to get this to work. I'm trying to flash a stock rom for my OnePlus 8 after bricking it during a rooting process.
The device' bootloader is obviously unlocked and i can get the phone into Fastboot mode and connected to my PC.
The only issue is when i execute the flash-all.bat file, it can't seem to flash any of the files and gives an error consisting of the message "FAILED (remote: 'Flashing is not allowed for Critical Partitions').
What to do guys? Can anyone help me out.
Does anyone know where to find mobile oneplus 8 5g tmobile from mine is bricked I had same error as post above

I have an issue trying to flash on fastboot. It's says I can't flash on critical partitions. Yes I know alot of people are saying that but what I haven't seen is this:
This is my problem:
Fastboot get device-info
(Bootloader) device unlocked:true
(Bootloader) device critical unlock: false
(Bootloader) charger screen enabled: true
I have already tried "fastboot flashing unlock_critical"
It says bootloader already unlocked. I then re lock bootloader which I know is not a good idea( reflash stock with msm tool) and it lock then I try unlock critical command again and it still says device critical unlock: false
i need help please ..

Unbrick from fastboot method
I hope I can help someone since I spent the whole night trying various methods to unbrick my Oneplus 8 and only this one worked for me JUST FOR INTERNATIONAL VERSION
You must have the drivers installed (Adb & Fastboot)
You must have your phone with the bootloader unlocked
1.- Download the file
2.-Unzip it
inside you will find Flash-all.bat
3.-Enter Fastboot mode
4.-Double click on the Flash-all.bat command
5.-It will direct you to the recovery, select the English language and restart in fastboot mode so that the process continues, wait for it to finish flashing everything and ready, the phone restarts on the latest version

Hi everybody...I'm in trouble with my Yotaphone YD201.
I done format data with TWRP.
Then, I run these commands with Win10 for clean flash of RU144:
Code:
fastboot flash boot {Directory_firmware/boot.img}
fastboot flash -S 512M system {Directory_firmware/system.img}
fastboot flash recovery {Directory_firmware/recovery.img}
fastboot flash cache {Directory_firmware/cache.img}
fastboot flash modem {Directory_firmware/radio/NON-HLOS.bin}
fastboot flash sbl1 {Directory_firmware/radio/sbl1.mbn}
fastboot flash rpm {Directory_firmware/radio/rpm.mbn}
fastboot flash tz {Directory_firmware/radio/tz.mbn}
fastboot flash userdata {Directory_firmware/userdata.img}
fastboot flash aboot {Directory_file__emmc_appsboot.mbn}
fastboot reboot
After the last one, Screen gone black and nothing appends...
Now, adb and fastboot can't contact with Yota ("adb devices" give "<waiting for devices") .
Now, In Win devices, I can find " QHSUSB_BULK".
After some search, I found out that my phone is in a recovery mode of Qualcomm. Does anybody know how to unblock it? Problably I need of specific driver to contact with this phone. Thanks so much!
P.S.: do not esitate to contact me if my english is not clear =)
How about a method like this https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/solution-bricked-oneplus-one-recovery.306306/ but use Yotaphone files instead?

This discussion uses Msm8974DownloadTool.exe from the directory of ColorOS but the wire connection does not work (the file is no longer available, from Mega).
Also, not sure if I can use Msm8974DownloadTool.exe with Yotaphone. Alternatively, what can I use?
Hi,
I have a problem with a Moto G4. I tried to root the device and think I f***** up a bit.
After successfully installing TWRP I tried to install SuperSu using adb sideload and afterwards the device wouldn't boot anymore. Only fastboot and the recovery are still working. If I try to boot the device it just turns off. A factory reset didn't help.
I tried installing a LineageOS but nothing changed. It still boots into fastboot.
Can anybody help?

Hmm, did you wipe your system and data in TWRP before flashing LineageOS? You do not require root to flash LineageOS, just an unlocked bootloader and a compatible TWRP recovery (taking care to note if you need the 32 bit or 64 bit TWRP recovery for the respective custom ROM).
Also, with rooting on our G4/Plus, if you are on stock Nougat, you must flash a custom kernel (e.g. ElementalX) before you root. You'll otherwise experience the boot failures you're experiencing. Thus, to root on stock Nougat, unlock bootloader, flash/boot TWRP, backup, then flash ElementalX, then flash SuperSU/magisk.
Without knowing the current state of your device, I would suggest re-flashing your device with the stock firmware. Can you remember what stock firmware you had on your device before rooting initially?

Hi, thanks for your reply
Yes, I wiped system data and cache before flashing lineage. I just tried it again and I am still stuck in fastboot.
Unfortunately I don't remember the stock firmware version. Should I just try to flush the custom kernel and supersu afterwards?

Hmm, did you know if the flash of LineageOS reported okay within TWRP? Just out of interest, which TWRP and which build of LineageOS are you flashing (e.g. are you using the 32 bit TWRP or 64 bit TWRP, and are you flashing the 32 or 64 bit Lineage OS)?
That's confusing that even pressing 'start' in fastboot reboots your device rather than booting, even with a custom ROM... What happens if you boot to TWRP and try to reboot via TWRP? Is there a system to boot to?
Without the stock system on your device, there's no point to re-flashing the custom kernel/SuperSU, since you should have LineageOS on your device. Do you have a TWRP backup you could restore before you tried to root? If not, then what's your device model number (and if you can remember it, what software channel you're on, e.g. retus, reteu etc). ?

Yes, everything was ok with the flash.
I am using lineage-14.1-20180516-nightly-athene-signed and twrp-3.2.1-0-athene. I didn't see any options to choose between 32 and 64 bit. (Download pages: https://download.lineageos.org/athene#!name https://eu.dl.twrp.me/athene/)
It doesn't matter how I try to boot (powerbutton, fastboot, recovery) I always directly end up in fastboot.
No I don't have a backup. When I got the device it was resetted so I saw no point in making one :/ It is an XT1622 and it should be reteu.

Okay, so they should both be 32 bit, so no worries there. There do seem to be a few reports of boot issues on the more recent official LineageOS builds https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/development/rom-cyanogenmod-14-1-t3522101/page280 but I don't know if they are still existing on the build you've flashed.
As it's likely your device has been reset when you flashed LineageOS (I don't know if there are still files on your internal storage, which you can view in TWRP, so back up if you do have files), you may wish to look into a stock firmware flash. Here's the April 2018 NPJS25.93-14-18 firmware, which appears to be the build released to EU devices: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138 You do not have to re-lock your bootloader if you don't wish to - if you wish to leave your bootloader unlocked, then flash the stock firmware via fastboot with the following flashing commands:
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.6

fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot reboot
Flashing these files via ADB should put a fresh copy of the latest firmware onto your device, which should then boot. If it does boot, then you can proceed with rooting (flash TWRP, then back up, then flash ElementalX or vegito, then flash SuperSU or magisk).

Hmm, try booting back to the bootloader, attach your device to your computer, then open ADB. In ADB, type 'fastboot oem fb_mode_clear' without the quotes. Press enter to submit, then reboot and see if your device boots to system rather than to fastboot.
This command should clear fastboot mode (though useful when flashing).

I do not know whether my EFS and Persist are intact but I have backed them up. I had installed Pixel Experience 9.0 and then restored my TWRP backup to go to Stock Oreo, Build Number: OPSS28.85-13-5. This is my current Build, unlocked, rooted and has TWRP.
Can I follow this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/development/stock-firmware-npn25-137-67-5-fastboot-t3694738) guide to go back to Stock Nougat and then upgrade to the latest official update from moto?
I am asking to confirm as the Stock ROM given in the guide is Nougat ROM and I am on Oreo as mentioned above. I won't have any problems right? I do not want to lose VoLTE and my IMEI.
Any help will be appreciated.
Installed Oreo ROM via fastboot on my Moto G5 Plus [RETIN/Indian/ XT1686]
I am sharing my experience here so that it might help someone looking to flash stock ROM via fastboot. This is not meant to be a tutorial, but I will list out the steps I followed. I am not responsible if you mess up or hard/soft brick your device when following the steps I mentioned below. Always make a backup of your data/photos/videos/music and whatever else. Also make a backup with TWRP to be safe.
So instead of following the guide linked in the above post, I followed this one and successfully unrooted and returned to stock: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/how-to/moto-g5-plus-fastboot-flash-stock-oreo-t3848433
But I did not use the ROM linked by the OP in that thread. Instead I downloaded this one : https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmwar...ubsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
This RETIN ROM works for me because I have the Indian XT1686. I don't know if it matters but I had the same version (13-5) before, but I am not sure whether it was RETAIL or RETIN.
Anyways guys make sure you download the right ROM for your device if you are going to install via fastboot. You can download the right ROM for your device from here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/
There are different folders for ROMs of different regions in the above link. So carefully download the one your device is compatible with.
Also, I installed fastboot drivers from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
Follow the instructions and also follow the video tutorials in the post to install fastboot drivers if your phone isn't detected in fastboot.
Then once I had downloaded the ROM and installed ADB, I extracted the ROM zip into a folder. Copy pasted ADB Files into the same folder (download ADB Files that worked for me _ attached to this post below).
FInally I put my phone in fastboot (turn off phone, then press volume down and power simultaneously till fastboot shows up). Connected the phone to my PC. Then opened CMD in the folder where I had extracted the ROM and copy pasted the ADB Files. To open cmd in a folder, just type cmd in the address bar of the folder and press enter.
And then I copy pasted the following code into the cmd window:
Code:
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

fastboot reboot
The above commands will run when pasted in cmd and your phone will be flashed with the ROM. It took a couple minutes to install and then I had to press enter while still in cmd to reboot the phone. Then the phone rebooted. Took a couple minutes more to boot, so stay patient. Then once the phone booted, I disconnected it from my PC and set the phone up as usual. DO NOT disconnect the phone when the fastboot commands are running and the ROM is being flashed. Note that the above fastboot commands will only flash the ROM. It will not lock the bootloader.
If you want to lock the bootloader then follow the instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/how-to/moto-g5-plus-fastboot-flash-stock-oreo-t3848433
Note that I haven't locked my bootloader. So you will have to try and see for yourself whether it locks your bootloader.
Also once I booted up I got update notification and was able to update to the Feb 2019 OTA security update. So I can for sure say that updates work. VoLTE, calling, camera, almost everything I checked works.
Cheers. :victory:
Maybe it isn't a right place to ask for it, however, I saw that erfanoabdi made an Ubuntu Touch GSI and also a halium-boot port for river. Maybe it's a silly question, but it is possible to just simply install this GSI (or maybe semi-GSI, because it requires halium port) on river and boot it? There's a simple guide for installing this GSI or any device which has a halium port, here it is:
0) Install treble compatible android 9 rom
1) FORMAT data in twrp
2) Flash halium-boot.img of your device
3) Flash GSI zip (I think I can't give a link here, it is allowed?)
So can it theoretically work? I tried it, but unfortunately I saw just blank screen after booting.
don't format data before LOS16

So, I should:
1. Flash LOS 16 without formatting data (I'm on Android 10)
2. Format data
3. Flash halium boot
4. Flash UBports GSI
I'll try that but I don't think it's a data problem, because I've already tried it and the zip was successfully installed - files it should copy were copied on data partition, I've checked this. But I'll try once more, without formatting data. Should I boot lineage after flashing?
Yeah, so I followed this and it worked. Thanks!
If anyone had the same problem, I'll write down all what I did:
0. Temporarily booted TWRP and installed it via zip (twrp-3.3.1-14-river)
1. Installed LOS 16 (lineage-16.0-20200127-UNOFFICIAL-river) without formatting data.
2. Booted LOS but it rebooted as the data wasn't formatted and i kept it booting until it booted into LOS Recovery to format data, so I just rebooted phone without formatting data and installed TWRP as in step 0.
3. Flashed halium-boot as boot image in TWRP and installed UBports installed v5 zip, also in TWRP of course.
4. Rebooted phone.
5. Now Ubuntu Touch booted succesfully. Unfortunately, it reboots after about 1 minute. So it's not stable enough at this time. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong, I'll try also another vendor image.
EDIT: I've just tried another vendor.img from newer LOS16 build. Worked fine, but sim doesn't work

Did it occur to you to maybe link to what you're talking about? Where is this halium-boot port for River you're talking about? I see nothing in the main GSI thread about anything but the G7 Power. No results on google for halium-boot river or halium river point to anything but this thread, so I have no idea what you could possibly mean.
Check on https://build.lolinet.com/file/halium/
Here you can find GSI and halium-boot images from Erfan. He also posted it on XDA, here you can find all information about it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...development/gsi-ubuntu-touch-ubports-t4110581
So, halium-boot.img is found on build.lolinet.com
But you can also build Halium 9 image if your device's kernel source is available, here's some info https://github.com/ubports/porting-notes/wiki/Generic-system-image-(GSI)#how-to-install-gsi
Also it's very important to have Android 9 ROM installed before. However, stock Android 9 didn't work for me, I prefer LineageOS. So, just install Lineage and then the GSI and halium boot image. For Moto G7 also flash 'river-firmwares.zip' found on lolinet. It'll fix that weird vibration noise bug. For now, there are some visual glitches visible (also only on river), but it'll be fixed. Anbox is working if you have /data partition formatted in ext4 (not f2fs), so if you follow instructions, you can also run some Android apps. Unfortunately, for me internet connection inside Anbox doesn't work.
Thanks sorry I was just starting to feel a bit insane, that stuff is not indexed on google at all by the looks of it. Thank you.
So here is the process that worked for me.
I started with the stock rom.
1. Followed the full Lineage OS install instructions, including the partitions zip etc.
2. Installed Lineage OS on Slot B per the above instructions
3. Wiped data
4. Flash halium-boot.img
5. Flash GSI zip
Everything works perfectly including cellular functionality.
Followed the steps above. Is it possible to revert?
I followed the steps above, but I am have serious issues with the screen jitter. I have been looking all over the place to see if there is a way to revert back to android so that I can use my phone without the screen jitter. Does any one have any instructions on how to do this? I did turn on ADB mode on Ubuntu Touch but my computer does not see an adb device. Thank for any help.
Took me a long time to figure out too.
Main thing is, if you hold down Power and Volume Down, eventually it will reboot to the boot menu. Don't select anything, just plug it in, and you'll have fastboot.
To go back to stock:
1. Hold down Power and Volume till the boot menu shows up.
2. Plug the phone into your PC
3. Get the newest firmware for your phone model. I bought mine at Best Buy, so it was RETUS aka retail US. https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/river/official/
4. Extract the archive, and enter that folder in your terminal
5. Run the following commands from that folder. I saved these commands in a shell script and ran it but I think you can just paste it
THIS WILL WIPE ANY DATA ON YOUR PHONE AND PUT IT BACK TO FULL FACTORY FIRMWARE WITH LOCKED BOOT LOADER. At least when I ran it, it got my phone 100% no more complaints when it boots about untrusted code. After this you should have a fresh phone you can unlock and try flashing again. THis also restored my OTA ability and I was able to get the Android 10 update without any issues.

I've MSM'ed about 8 times today. Every single time I attempt to flash recovery, no matter which recovery, it overwrites the system and upon rebooting to recovery through fastboot, it permanently stays in fastboot. I can MSM out of it. I've tried conversion MSM, temporarily booting recovery, flashing firmwares, resetting, wiping. I cannot fix this. I have spent over 11 hours trying to troubleshoot this. Google comes up with useless results. This is the first time I've not been able to recover from a situation with this phone. Please, if you have any ideas, shoot. The model is kb2007.
Reserved.
try a fastboot boot twrp ( https://github.com/ApexLegend007/twrp_device_oneplus_lemonades/releases ) and try factory resetting it then see if you can switch your partition from a to be or b to a then try msm flashing ( https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=17248734326145733797 )

I can't even boot TWRP, it just shows the Oneplus logo and the"fastboot mode" thing forever. It's been 10 minutes now.
If you've used MSM then you're on OOS 11.
I assume the phone boots properly after MSM.
On OOS 11 you can only use TWRP 11 from https://dl.twrp.me/kebab/
And you can only use TWRP 12 on OOS 12 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...in-recovery-project-8t-9r-2022-07-27.4473983/
PS: and you should have posted this in the 8T Q&A forum.

OOS is 11.1.0.2.KB09CB
I've tried TWRP 3.6.1, 3.6.0, and 3.6.2
OOS does boot cleanly.
Phone is KB2007.
The bootloader is unlocked.
I've truly never had this problem before.
You'll probably have to upgrade to the latest version of OOS 11 (or 12) before TWRP will boot.
I have an idea, if you are in fast boot mode then you can flash everything manually. ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-8t-rom-ota-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os-builds.4193183/ ) there's only international version (kb2005) it can work with that. Just use payload dumper to extract all the .img by dragging and dropping the payload.bin unto payload dumper after extracting them all into a folder then use the commands to flash them all with adb. Then reboot to recovery, factory reset, and MSM tool back to TMO.
do these commands one by one replacing the .img with the location of the .img. actually, just drag and drop the file after. ( ex: fastboot flash logo C:\Users\???\Desktop\???.img )
Just an extra recommendation to wipe the device
( Fastboot -w )BEFORE THE OTHER COMMANDS but you don't need to if it works without wiping.
fastboot flash logo logo.img
fastboot flash mdm_oem_stanvbk mdm_oem_stanvbk.img
fastboot flash modem modem.img
fastboot flash multiimgoem multiimgoem.img

fastboot --disable-verity flash vbmeta_system vbmeta_system.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot flash xbl xbl.img
fastboot flash xbl_config xbl_config.img
I'm way too inexperienced with this but if anything goes wrong you can MSM tool back to fastboot.
honest recommendation, just use TMO to International MSM tool after. unless you want to keep it TMO (kb2007)

Sorry I'm very bad at this. I was thinking you didn't even boot properly.... just update to the latest using oxygen updater or the systems bultin update... Im a moron and ill be leaving that up there.
