i know, i can use the right app and it'll work just fine still, but if it's at all possible i'd like to know definitively, is it even possible to get a fitbit setup with samsung health app through any means at all?
i'm not afraid of doing some work for this so long as it can be explained.
I don't know if it can be done, I have a fitbit but just use the fitbit app, I think the samsung health app won't give you as much insights as the Fitbit app
I've researched this in years prior. I don't believe there's an easy way to go about it. Fitbit is pretty tight on what data they share, and who they share it with. There is an app on Google play called Health Sync, that supposedly allows for this. Might want to check that out.

Well I recently saw that GMail came out with an app that supports the Wizard, but for some reason I can't get it to work. I was just wondering if anyone here uses it. And if you do, what did you do to get it to work? You can download it from your phone at www.gmail.com/app
Let me know, cause I'd really like it to work...
You need to install the Midlet Manager (do a search), Gmail interfaces with that, it basically enables Java on the MDA, at least that's what I gather. I've installed the gmail app and it works but I when I try to jump out of to a link I get an error message and have to reboot. But for just reading, it works great, kind of makes you wonder about the whole blackberry thing, this is pretty slick.
here you go...

works great for me......
I checked the gmail app out a few days ago...
And honestly, it's just as fast to use the web interface from PIE and you don't have to load up a lame java app.
The update is from 4/17.
1) The new widget can now take you to only the Steps item. No longer can you tap on different parts of the widget and go to the main app, Steps, or Heart Rate.
2) The S-Cover S-Health widget no longer works properly. You have to open the cover, unlock the phone, then you can close the cover and use the widget.
WTH?!
I definately don't like the new s-health update. You have to add the other programs to the bottom of the home page.
I stop using shealth when I got my fitbit surge, but I do wish I could sync my fitbit with shealth
The only things that I use s-health for is the occasional pulse check and to check the UV. If it wasn't for that, I'd have killed it a long time ago, just so the phone would stop incessantly reminding me to turn on the stupid pedometer that I have absolutely no use for. I have a fitbit one, but even if I didn't, I sure wouldn't go everywhere with my phone attached to me.
I'm so angry at Samsung. This new update is the completely reworked version with the material design. But they couldn't wait a few weeks to fix the bugs, they had to rush it out.
I forgot to mention, there's now no audio cues to indicate if the heart rate monitor is finished with a measurement. Grrrr!

That's really annoying. Maybe try turning pedometer on and off?
You can not turn off the pedometer in the new update to S-Health. Can pause it but not turn it off.
I wonder if I can rollback s-health to a point where I can shut it off. The pedometer notification comes up. I swipe it away and 15 minutes later, it's back. I'm never going to use the damned pedometer. I should be able to kill the notification.
Yep, I'm hating it as well. I can't launch the heartrate monitor from the widget, and I really liked the transparent widgets. Theres no reason why those options couldn't have been included in the update. Post a review and complaint like everyone else in the google play store.. maybe they'll rethink and fix the damned thing's functionality.
No carbs in food summary
The feature that I least like about the new S-Health is that a total carb count in no longer shown at the food summary - just calories. I keep un-installing the new "update" and reverting back to the green S-Health version that shows the carb count at the summary. I turned off auto-updated in Google play but the new version still reloads every couple of days.
I have the mid alpha 2 and wish shealth would sync with it. But I know that Samsung would never do that as they want you to buy their own smartwatch.

Make sure you have the auto update turned off in the Samsung app store as well.

How do you do that? Not seeing that on the built in version of apps on the Note with the Lollipop update.
There have been some S-Health updates since, and it is keeping getting better and better
Widgets have also been updated.
My Fitbit One is dying because it's getting old, so I'm going to be replacing it with a Smart Watch of some sort. I'm looking for a watch that will track my steps and hopefully my sleep and integrate with MyFitnessPal account.
I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or experiences with this? I'm not sure if there are watches that are better than others at this or if they generally don't work at all. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you.

The moto 360 has all what your looking for,and I use with google fit.but I believe you can use fitness pal also, but don't quote me.
I have the moto360. It is set to sync with Google fit and motobody. I have myfitnesspal set to pull the data from Google fit and it works like a champ. Motobody is supposed to sync with fitbit, but I have yet to see it work. I jump through all these hoops so I can sync with my work's vitality program.

Care to outline your method for me? My new company enforces ios so ive had to replace my galaxy with an iphone. Trying to get my data to sync since i cant get anything to check in with apple health.
I have my company's vitality system linked with mapmyfitness.com. In the mapmyfitness app, I have it linked with myfitnesspal. In the myfitnesspal app, I have it linked to Google fit. I have my moto360 linked with Google fit. It's stupidly complicated, but works.

I prefer using the app Up by Jawbone. Integrates much better with my moto 360 than Google Fit. I also recommend Interval Timer for Android to time your reps like a champ.
How about the Huawei active?
Have you had any problems with this setup?

I just stumbled upon this rather convoluted solution myself. My company also has a Vitality program and after numerous issues with FitBit I want to use an actual smartwatch to log steps. After playing around with the various app connections I did the same Google Fit -> MyFitnessPal -> MapMyFitness -> Vitality. I just need to buy a smartwatch now to complete the chain, but I want to make sure it works before purchasing one.
Thanks.
Hey all, had to move to a Note 8 for work requirements (Knox) and I'm missing my v20.
More specifically, I'd really like to get capture+ back. Have tried a few apps in the play store but nothing can compete.
I still have my V20, is there any way to package up and port the capture+ app over? I doubt it but wanted to ask.
Thanks

Yes sure, you can link it with your Gmail account then it will sync it (but need Capture+ on other phone). You can link Gmail account in the Capture+ setting. But if not LG phone maybe need to export to Google Keep app, Keep should do it for you.
Or maybe try install Capture+ on Samsung phone I have not try it.
Here's a thread with the Pixel watch APKs and build.prop - anyone want to look at the Fitbit related apps and see if they'll run on non Pixel watches? I'm picking up a Wear 3 watch soon to try, currently Skagen Gen 6 is still on WOS2, it won't even install them.
Sure it would be nice if someone could port this app. I 've heard that it has very good sleep tracking.
I've used bugjaeger to install the Fitbit APK from the dump on my galaxy watch 5. The app works. Unfortunately it won't let you sign into your Fitbit account. It says unsupported device when you try to sign in.
Thats the main problem. I dont thing it is usefull without login.

Agreed. Since I can already track my steps with Samsung health it's probably just draining my battery by having it installed. Someone that knows more than I do would have to figure out how to trick the app to think the device is a pixel watch. I'm not sure if editing build props is still a think but even if it is it would probably break more than it fixes to change it
Hope that google adds fitbit sleeptracking on google fit or release fitbit for all devises with full features. Then I will desamsung the watch 4..
I could try to decompile the apk and see if there's a list of supported devices, if it's that simple and not a cloud check then maybe we could do it
This would be great....any progress?
