Downloaded 3 bixby apps on galaxy store but I couldnt open bixby and there is no bixby setting in settings). But well, I installed bxactions to remap bixby button to different functions, better than doing that in bixby settings. Now all samsung bloatwares are gone.

Anyone know how to get it back? All that is there is Samsung's Voice and it sounds like a robot.
It also has a terrible pause when giving map directions.
Try Ivona from Play. It's better than Google TTS in my opinion.

Dave

Ivona is good but Google tts would be free, so how do we get it?
if u r adventurous, u can try extracting the tts from goggle gapps.

i am assuming that u r rooted.
instead of installing the apk, use a root explorer to copy the googletts.apk from the gapps zip file to your device /system/app folder. set the permission to 644. if u r not familiar with permission, check against googleserviceframework.apk. set the same permission.
reboot.
Damn, I'm not rooted!
I need to figure out how to do this, the Samsung lady is driving me crazy!
I strongly dislike the Samsung lady, she sounds horrible.

are you activating text to speech by simply holding down the home button? Im not sure if you can change defualt app, but within a text, google tts pops up
Search in Samsung App Store for SAMSUNG TTS HD (100MB)
I get it for Free and best clear voice

We finally get our real solution now. Google decided to add their tts engine to the play store.

Thank you!! That Samsung crappy voice was driving me crazy.
Ivona voice anyone? Its the best speech engine i have come across.
I must be blind, because I cannot find the galaxy app store icon in the drawer. I see the one on the desktop, but if that gets deleted, where do I find the store?
Thanks,
Jim

Nope, not in application manager, either. This is a Verizon Note 4.
I have widgets for it, maybe there is no app specifically in the drawer?
I'm on AT&T and didn't have a Samsung Galaxy Store icon or app until I downloaded & installed it. IIRC I got it from Samsung's website. I was thinking I got it from the Play Store but I checked and it's not there.
So strange
If you have galaxy widget gift it mean you have that app.
Almost all galaxy device have galaxy app as a default app

I have that widget but I didn't realize it included the Galaxy App Store, really I don't think it did, maybe it gives you access to download & install it. I only looked at once before I removed it from my screen but I'm thinking when I downloaded it & installed it from Samsung's website if I already had it installed it would not have installed a second time. Installing it was one of the first things I did because I wanted to install Here Beta maps.
If you have a Samsung folder, it's probably in there. Another reason why I use Nova Launcher.

Ok so you have to manual install from samsung website to use that app
I disabled Hangouts some time ago and now I want to re-enable it. However I can't. When I go to Settings>Applications it isn't there no matter how I look (disabled apps, all apps etc.) When I go in the play store I see Hangouts and it has an Enable button but it does nothing. I was able to re-enable Chrome. Any ideas how I can get Hangouts back (short of a factory reset).
I have a Exynos S7E running the latest official Nougat beta.

Thanks for trying edan but that didn't work. Looks like I will switch to my Honor 8 and reset the S7E.

I know the full bixby features aren't available for use yet, but are any of you using it more than Google assistant? Why or why not?
neither. what do you even use these for?
Google assistant is so much more interesting and useful than Bixby !
There is no voice command for bixby yet. And anyway, even when Bixby will get these voice commands, there is no chance that it will be better than Google Assistant.
I disabled almost every Bixby services, I remaped the bixby button to the Google App (I use home button to get the google assistant).
I found use for scanning QR codes with Bixby Vision and that's about it. I want to disable everything related to bixby and remap the button to Google now/Assistant but I don't want to disable and realtime day to day use of the phone. Also, I'm on a non rooted tmobile s8 and doubt it's possible on stock.
My ok google is not working please help

There is an app to remap Bixby button. Works great. Find it in the app store. It's called bxActions. You can make use of it for Google assistant. ?

Settings>applications>default apps>device assistant app and make sure Google is set to be the one. And try again.

Long click on Google app> when it wiggles click on app info>scroll down to permissions>click and make sure microphone is clicked on. If this doesn't work, you can try deleting cache first then data in Google. Let me know.

Weird though. Mine works flawlessly. No problems. ?
I use google assistant to set alarms and turn off my lights at night. I disabled Bixby completely because when I remapped it it either accidentally launched what I mapped it to or it would still launch bixby. Now the button does nothing and i'm happy. If Samsung works around package disabler then I'll crazy glue the button in place. Lets see them patch that ****! ?

I recently bought a Chinese Samsung G10+ and everything works great. However, recently discovered that Bixby Voice doesn't understand “what is the weather” means
1. Everything is in English except Samsung Assistant
2. It almost seems like weather isn't an option available to Bixby
Any ideas would help, thanks in advance.
