I purchased an unlocked S10+ from Amazon.com.
Currently using it in South Africa. I notice that the caller ID spam protection is not available / disabled.
My current software:
Baseband: G975FXXU1ASC8
Service provider SW ver:
SAOMC_SM-G975F_OXM_XFE_PP_0006
P28M135R49T
XFE/XFE,XFE/TPA
From what I can understand, the original version was from Panama (TPA?). Now using XFE as in South Africa.
The other locally purchased Unlocked S10 Plus has the caller ID spam protection / Smart Call available, also on the same network.
Mine does not.
Please help me to enable this feature.

Not sure if possible to just change the SCS code?
Would that make a difference in the available options?

In my previous devices I've changed the CSC code and this option indeed appears and works on a SCS where otherwise it's not available. But I don't know how it is going to be for the S10.

Would this have any potential issues with Knox, etc?
This would seem to be the easiest solution.

By change the SCS code I meant editing the SCS files and enabling the options needed.
Root is needed for that. And Knox doesn't like that. Sorry if I wasn't clear in previous message.

It's definitely not the same as using the smart call feature built in the phone but I suspect it csc feature related.

DigiMobile Romania user here. The CSC switched to ROM Vodafone after a reboot.
Smart call id and spam protection disappeared. The firmware was Multicsc Europe - DBT, ROM etc.
I flashed PRT (Poland - it was not one of the CSCs from the firmware) and now I have all the options. Volte, VoWifi and Caller ID.

Thank you for the answer. Sorry if my question is stupid, I am competent not at all in this domain.
Thus I can flash my Note 5 ( N920IDVU2AOJ3) with the version given here ( N920CXXU1AOH2) in order to get French?
In my searches I also found others ROM (on "ndroidzone") around N920IDVU1AO and many different letters at the end.
Is their compatibility with my phone better and how to know if those there contain French?
Thank you

How can that be when they are the same phone just different region.
They have exact same hardware inside .
Do you know a technical reason why same phones can not use MM
The modem/baseband part is different in these two phones. I am 99% sure if you flash either phone with the others firmware you will end up with a softbricked phone.
Baseband and modem only affect the ability to use network so if your country doesn't have that frequency then yes phone won't work..won't soft brick but won't get any signal either..
They are identical phones expect they are made for different regions...
Mine is optus AU the c model could be anything from Afghanistan to Vietnam. ..

Hello,
I noticed that Samsung removed the "Identify unsaved number" function with the Oreo update.
since the function was based on Hiya I've installed the Hiya app but it's far away from what the inbuilt one was. Samsung's function had definitely more data sources to identify unknown numbers (for example Yelp). maybe too many because I heard it caused conflicts with data protection laws and was therefore removed.
does anyone have an idea how to get this option back? I think installing the Nougat dialer could do the trick, but without root that's probably impossible.
any clues here?
thnx in advance

What? That makes no sense. Also attempted, only shows available CSCs.
All you do is open menu..then other tools it will show you what csc. After you make selection it will ask if you want to install. Makes perfect sense I have used it many times. Are you rooted?
Can you explain what benefit there is? For ex, mine is from one of the original 5 or so countries it was sold and the csc is correct for that. What might I change it to and for what gain?
I am in United States on At&t. Changing CSC sometimes will give you carrier options such as Volte..wificalling..advanced messaging..video calling.

Hi i am also stuck with Malaysia csc while I live in India. The phone info app can only show CSC of the home country (Malaysia in my case) or neighbouring countries. Not sure if it can help in switching to csc of an altogether different country. See the screenshot

Click csc selector if you are rooted. I to have Malaysia Note fe that I use in United States. If you are rooted and have TWRP installed search Xda for a csc zip from the country or carrier you want and flash it in recovery as sometimes phone info app does not fully customize your device. The FE I have found is very picky at times. When I used phone info app on my rooted Note 8 it gave me the option for full network customization to At&t

I see, that's worth trying as I was planning to change my phone due to this issue although I love it.
The only question is that whether I can now root it as I have already updated to latest pie with CSC5

You can try the root method that was used on the 1st Pie update

And finally it worked... Thanks a ton
Rooted and flashed the CSC zip file for India from TWRP.
Got the volte, better signal.. Most importantly got to keep the FE for some more time [emoji3526][emoji3526]
