Changing CSC after pie - Samsung Galaxy Note FE Questions & Answers

I just got my hands on a Note FE but the previous owner had already updated to pie. I can't seem to use the sec_csc.zip method, so anyone know any way to change CSC?

You can try phone info app from playstore. It allows you to change csc

What? That makes no sense. Also attempted, only shows available CSCs.

All you do is open menu..then other tools it will show you what csc. After you make selection it will ask if you want to install. Makes perfect sense I have used it many times. Are you rooted?

Can you explain what benefit there is? For ex, mine is from one of the original 5 or so countries it was sold and the csc is correct for that. What might I change it to and for what gain?

I am in United States on At&t. Changing CSC sometimes will give you carrier options such as Volte..wificalling..advanced messaging..video calling.

Hi i am also stuck with Malaysia csc while I live in India. The phone info app can only show CSC of the home country (Malaysia in my case) or neighbouring countries. Not sure if it can help in switching to csc of an altogether different country. See the screenshot

Click csc selector if you are rooted. I to have Malaysia Note fe that I use in United States. If you are rooted and have TWRP installed search Xda for a csc zip from the country or carrier you want and flash it in recovery as sometimes phone info app does not fully customize your device. The FE I have found is very picky at times. When I used phone info app on my rooted Note 8 it gave me the option for full network customization to At&t

I see, that's worth trying as I was planning to change my phone due to this issue although I love it.
The only question is that whether I can now root it as I have already updated to latest pie with CSC5

And finally it worked... Thanks a ton
Rooted and flashed the CSC zip file for India from TWRP.
Got the volte, better signal.. Most importantly got to keep the FE for some more time [emoji3526][emoji3526]

Thank you for the answer. Sorry if my question is stupid, I am competent not at all in this domain.
Thus I can flash my Note 5 ( N920IDVU2AOJ3) with the version given here ( N920CXXU1AOH2) in order to get French?
In my searches I also found others ROM (on "ndroidzone") around N920IDVU1AO and many different letters at the end.
Is their compatibility with my phone better and how to know if those there contain French?
Thank you

How can that be when they are the same phone just different region.
They have exact same hardware inside .
Do you know a technical reason why same phones can not use MM
The modem/baseband part is different in these two phones. I am 99% sure if you flash either phone with the others firmware you will end up with a softbricked phone.
Baseband and modem only affect the ability to use network so if your country doesn't have that frequency then yes phone won't work..won't soft brick but won't get any signal either..
They are identical phones expect they are made for different regions...
Mine is optus AU the c model could be anything from Afghanistan to Vietnam. ..

I registered via the care app ok ?
Registered this morning using the Galaxy Care apk in the betatester program. I have just clicked the "Check updates" option in the configuration menu of my device and suddenly started to download the 6.0 update.
So, maybe those who have joined the program, can force the update this way aswell.
My phone is an unlocked and never rooted G925F with the CSC code changed to XEU and the last 5.1.1 update installed. I live in Spain.

Easiest way is to flash the firmware you would like to change your CSC to, then after that boot to Recovery, it should tell you "Multi-CSC applied" and it is done, you can even check it with the Phone Info app later to see if it indeed changed

Sm-g935u for t-mobile

Hi
Has anyone tired SM-G935U for T-Mobile does wifi calling works, and video calling.
I gave it a go yesterday. I would not recommend it. It seems like it is causing issues, if you follow the thread on it. Also if you are on the July 1st security patch (the update that came out on 07/08/2016) then trying to flash the G935U firmware will softbrick your device. Either way the best way to get back to stock is to use Smart Switch and re-initialize the phone. You will lose all of your internal data either way.

SM-G935T is on v3 while SM-G935u is on v2 which is causing the softbrick .
Have anyone tried this recently? as of October 1st? Reports on the AT&T forum seem to suggest that it's working now.
where is the link at for the new G935U UPDATE FOR TMO
this is encouraging please keep us informed of any progress
I have the SM-G935U Olympic edition running on T-Mobile with the latest firmware PG9, Aug. 1st patch and I can see LTE+ every now and then. I do also see the option for WIFI-Calling and VOLTE. I can not verify if they worked properly but the options are there. Im not rooted because I still want Samsung Pay for now. ROM seems fast and good battery life and no T-Mobile BLOAT I was able to uninstall (yes uninstalled not disable) even the samsung email app and samsung+.

It looks like the bootloader for the Unbranded version has increased. This should allow us to switch from T-mobile to U since they are now both at 4.
If you follow the release of older firmware it coincides with new bootloader revisions. If so then the AT&T, T-mobile and Unbranded version are all now at bootloader 4 which allows us to flash any one of them.
For example, if you look at the history of firmware releases for the T-mobile variant, you'll note the number has changed when the bootloader has been updated.

AT&T Nougat ROM Carrier aggregation

On my S7 edge,i have flashed between all the different roms but since my HD Voice,Wi-Fi Calling, and VoLTE (All very important features for me) don't work, I reverted to my stock rom. the carrier aggregation says "CA-not configured 00" and was getting 50% worse speeds than my two year old iPad Air 2. I have ran it on many different cell towers which I know have the Carrier aggregation enabled but it sill wouldn't connect.
It may have gotten disabled somehow. CA can be enabled/disabled in the Service Menus

It seems that the code to get there has been disabled in 7.0
AT&T variant had a code on MM that you type into the dialer to being up one of the Service Menus. The code for the Verizon variant is *#27663368378# and can be accessed after root & modification to one of the carrier files for Hidden Menus.
I believe the code was *#197328640# but like I said they appear to be dead now.

Also, do you know if there is a difference between the XAA and VZW unlocked firmware? I'm seeing both versions but they are both for the unlocked model. I have the unlocked phone on Verizon so which one would be better?
Edit: NVM. After looking at all the numbers on the application I believe they are the same firmware.

VZW uses contains wallpapers and apps VZW specific.
XAA contains no additional apps.
btw when you upgrade an American S7 edge's bootloader then you are stuck with it.
It means Oreo forever pretty much.
you shouldn't really mess with the network if your current network is working fine.
VZW phones used to be locked to Verizon in Nougat but after an update they decided to unlock all of these phones.
Functionally they should be the same to XAA firmware no need to change from VZW.
All of the firmware is the same for all 935U's except the CSC's and modem.
Meaning you should use your Modem from the VZW but you can use the CSC from VZW or XAA.

Look at the back of your phone for your phone model.
Like SM-G935F
Also look for the country code
like BTU for Britain
Then put them both into the SamFirm app.
It will look for the latest update automatically.

Look at the back of your phone for your phone model.
Like SM-G935F
Also look for the country code
like BTU for Britain
Then put them both into the SamFirm app.
