Hey guys, has anyone face this problem like me. I'm not sure what I did wrong with my phone, but when I connect via USB cable to computer it doesn't recognize my phone. Usually, when we connect it to computer it will pop up saying that "Charge Only" and USB Debugged Connecting. But for me my phone nothing happen, just normal charging.
I tried to switch to various different ROM from Gingerbread to ICS and ICS to HTC Sense 3.5, but still the same. Still not recognize by the computer.
Help me please...
Still kinda a noob so I may sound stupid for this but do u have the correct drivers for the phone installed on your computer

Is it possible that you disabled the pop up?
If it doesn't seem to be a software problem, have you tried using a different USB cable? This would be the most likely problem for you, in my opinion.

Well, before connect to each other normally. I am not sure what I did wrong with it. I did try various cable. But still the same. I will try to install the Driver again. Thanks for your suggestion.

The driver came on the root of you sd card when the phone was new. If that doesn't work try pdanet
Sent from my MyTouch 4G using xda app-developers app
Well, I already tried all these ways. Still not working. I even try to restore to the previous back up that the SD card is working by that time. But nothing happen still. Look like it is a hardware problem.
Have you looked at the device manager for devices with an exclamation point? Make sure you have the "show hidden devices" checked.
On your pc re-install the phone driver but first uninstall the original driver through control panel>programs. After the uninstall, plugging in your phone to your PC should bring up the unknown device pop up (then the new hardware installation dialogue). If not then the pc isn't picking up your phone, check the cable, maybe try a different cable/ usb port.
If all else fails, some mytouch custom roms on these forums borked usb, there was a workaround for that, something you could flash. I remember seeing it in some of the threads... Wish I could remember the name. It was around Cyanogen 7.1 mods/ports (before rc 7.2 was out). Maybe somebody else remembers..
Sent from my Frosted Cherry ParanoidAndroid v 1.5a3
It could be a failed USB connector in the phone. Much, much higher probability than "borked USB". Especially if he installed several custom ROMs and didn't have anything.
Very easy to tell:
Boot to bootloader (power off, then power on + Volume Down), choose "FASTBOOT" (with VolDown and Power buttons), connect USB. If you'll see "FASTBOOT USB" showing up instead of "FASTBOOT" - it means USB is working. If not - most likely USB plug in the phone is dead, or something wrong with your computer's USB ports.
you need to install the HTCdriver before connected the myTouch to computer. I think I downloaded it from the official myTouch 4g website, some mytouches have it in their sd card...

Hi, I've tried your suggestion. And the Fastboot USB didn't pop up. So that mean something wrong with it. Do you have any solution for this. Appreciate your help.
If no "install driver" or "unrecognized device" popped up at the computer - just to be sure, try a different computer. If still nothing pops up on the computer - it means you have to fix the USB socket of the phone, and it means you have to submit it to a lab (unless you're good with micro-soldering and have all the tools, including microscope - but it doesn't seem to be the case). It's a physical problem, and can't be solved with software - no builds/ROMs/etc can make metal contact

You are right. I think it is the hardware problem too. Because I just got a Micro USB port broken and I went to the phone repairer to fix it. After I got it back for a couple day and flash new ROM. The USB is no longer working. Will return it to them.
Thanks for your time
I had the same problem. I just formated the system and then flashed the same room and that worked for me. Hope it helps

Are you able to enter bootloader mode on your phone? (Power on while holding the "volume up" button. If that doesn't work, try pulling the battery and re-inserting it while holding the power and volume up buttons.) Then try connecting to RSD Lite.
If all else fails, you could try using the sbf_flash tool in a linux environment. See here and here for guides.
If you don't have a computer with Linux, you can run it from a usb thumb drive with this. If you haven't used linux before, Ubuntu is probably easiest to use.
i am able to enter to bootloader mode but the phone is been detected as UNKNOWN DEVICE...

That's strange. Does the Bootloader screen say "Battery OK, OK to program, Connect USB Data Cable"? Do you see anything else in RSD Lite besides "Unknown Device"?
You could try using USBDeview on your PC to try to figure out what sort of device your PC thinks your phone is. If the phone is in bootloader mode connected properly, you should see "Motorola Flash Interface" listed under the connected devices, and if you double-click on it, you'll see more information that might help with troubleshooting. What driver version do you see there?
I've attached a screenshot so you can see what it's supposed to look like.

Ok, what do you see in USBDeview?
Try in another pc or in a virtual machine of Windows XP, or check in which usb port you're plugging on the cable, in my computer with Windows 8 for example, I have 4 ports on the back of the cpu and 2 on the front, the front ones don't work to use RDSLite but they work for mass storage and debugging without any problems, but for RDSLite I have to use the back ports

That's not good. If your phone is going into bootloader mode but USBDeview isn't picking up any signal from the USB, it may be a hardware problem. How did your phone get bricked? Was its USB port working properly before that?

Hmm, the safewipe script isn't supposed to touch the recovery partition. Can you get into stock recovery? (Take the battery out, then put it back in while holding the volume down and power buttons at the same time.) If you can get into the stock recovery, do a full factory reset, then try flashing an sbf again.

(2) Can't back up using TWRP.2.7.1.0
(3) Can't flash new roms witth TWRP.2.7.1.0
Phone works fine other wise .
Help want to update to 4.4.3
You need to provide way more details than that if you want a specific answer. You should be able to flash the factory images fine but will need fastboot working properly, the usb issue is probably driver related.

My phone doesn't get recognized on PC or Laptop via usb. So I need to root it via app or any method used with Phone.
If there is any, let me know.
I tried KingRoot and Root Zenfone app, didnt worked.
AFAIK, you can't do that. You need to use computer to root it. Is your usb port damaged? Try clean it up first. Or sometimes it could be just Windows driver issue.

Try to reinstall drivers, or you can install Asus PCLink (that automatically installs Intel USB drivers).

Did you tried plugging in to another computer to see if it works? Try using different cable that certified for data transfer. Make sure you check "mtp" as your preferred connection method. If computer still says "USB device not recognized", probably your phone usb port might have broken solder connection.

I guess that might be hardware issue as you already installed Asus PCLink on your computer. Did you already tried fastboot mode? Try going into droidboot menu and plug your phone. If it shows up in device manager, then you are all good.
However if it does not work, and if you have a good eyes and basic soldering skill, you might want to disassemble your phone and inspect the USB port solder connections. You might have to replace the bottom board too if you accidentally fried any caps on it.

Hey sandy, first check your Android Version. If it is 4.3 or lower then you can root without pc. But if you have an android version higher than that then you will need a pc.
To root without pc:
You can do a simple search on youtube as I already upgraded my Android Version
To root with pc:
Use a reliable tutorial I myself used on youtube:
As I am a new member i cannot give the link but the name of the youtuber is Silicon Rodent
Best of luck:good:
So here is the sad story , was just receiving the message in viber and the phone suddenly died, tried many methods
Tried to load into recovery
Tried MSMdownloadtool
when i hold volume +and - button and power button and plug it into the PC the MSMdownload tool recognize the device and when i follow the procedure it gives message like Firehose data read error.
That's "easy" to fix, first use the original USB cable (I don't know why, but on my device the flash always fails when I use a non-original cable), try with another USB port of your pc, or try with some other Qualcomm driver.
