I like this phone. I do.
My first impression on starting it was... "WTH is THAT?!! ?
It's distracting and annoying.
My question is, can I turn that status bar all black all the time?!
I can try to post a screenshot of what I'm trying to accomplish.
I'm not very tech savvy. I had to search for the term "status bar."

use a black wallpaper. other than that there is no way to hide the notch.
On some web pages, that bar is a different color. This one is orange, somewhat unusual.
I guess I'm asking if there is any way to control that color?
Unlock developer mode and look for "Display Cutout". That will remove the notch.

Okay. I am now a developer. That's as far as I can get. I cannot find display cutout.

It's in the manual, but here you go...
Start > Settings > Today > Items tab
disable and re-order the Today Screen items there

I'm much the same, actually... I like to just sit down and poke at things (found the today screen settings that way, for example).. but manuals do sometimes have good information that you can't easily stumble upon otherwise.. so once I feel 'ok' with a device/piece of software, I read through the entire manual once, and highlight (or note down) the bits that are interesting and seem non-obvious.

I will see what i can do... I have to find which manila files to change...
but it will take a while, don't have the time right now...

Well, there is a thread called "no bricks" which does exactly the opposite. I don't like the bricks
So, before applying that patch, i backed up my original bricks file, which should work for you.
Here you go (untested though! Make sure you back up the file too):
my "bricks" don't look as good as the pic above. mine are more round and spaced further. that does look way better.

That's the icon when you have the phone set to Vibrate.

Yeah first PDA.. I tried to click on it to see what it was, but I just came to the normal screen with battery indicator and network connection.. The icon looked a bit scary so it got me off..

The white topbar is doable, it's done in many roms, and there are plenty of people doing this.
Camera app may be as simple as having Root and finding an APK of the stock 2.1 camera app, and installing over HTC's, or it may just not work altogether.
Wow. Didn't think many people would want the white bar. It's been the standard for a while, and it's one of the things I, and I think many others, like about Sense. Would be kind of neat if they made it where you could adjust the color of it to anything you wanted or could adjust the opacity of it.
