Sorry about another "Which should I buy" thread -- Yes, I read before I post and I see a lot of them in this thread, but....
I will probably be buying either a Mate 9 pro, Honor V9 or Honor 10 pro.
(Perhaps I should paste all those words on magnets, and then throw them at the refrigerator)
GSM Arena says the Mate 9 Pro has NFC, but Huawei's own page does not really confirm this.
In some other Huawei phones, the Single Sim versions have NFC, and dual sim versions do not.
(I understand that for security/purchases NFC is tied only to the 1st sim in all dual sim phones -- that is not a problem)
Can anyone confirm versions/model numbers, and which/any/all support NFC?
also, different sources mention different things about the camera having actual optical zoom. Is this true? 2x or 4x?
Is it true that only the 6G RAM version has the 2K screen? Some sites seem to imply this. If anyone can point me to a trust worthy set of specifications, and/or a vendor that will actually send me the advertised version, I would appreciate it.

I am really happy with Android Wear 2.0 people that complain I just do not get.
Watch face has current time (still a watch), mine tells me when of have my next appointment, Heart Rates, Steps, and Weather.
Killer apps ..... it is a WATCH what more do you want or need ?
However the one Killer App that has Zero love is Android Pay and I not only partly understand (I know Americans are behind as far as having POS terminals that support Android Pay) but even in the the USA they are catching up. No more pulling cards out or the wallet, or even your cell out of your pocket..... Just use your watch.
It is the most convenient way to Shop but as far as I can tell unless you have a Huawei Watch 2 or Lg Sport you are out of luck.
Are there more watch that are current are announced that have NFC and does support Android Pay ?

My LG Urbane 2nd Edition (AT&T version) has Android Pay. I use it all the time. Not too many other watches have it. Here is a spreadsheet (not mine) from Reddit that has specs of most AW watches.

What's strange is that the new Snap Dragon Wear 2100 processor in the new Android Wear smartwatches has NFC built into the chip however many OEM's have decided not to enable it.
Hi, I know that the P10 Lite is going to get the Emui 8.0, but I was wondering if it will get the huawei face unlock too. Other huawei phones have already gotten it, so will the P10 Lite get it?

We'll find out when someone gets access to the update (beta or release).
I wouldn't recommend anyone actually use it if it does get added. It's horribly insecure to use any kind of face unlock without the hardware to make it secure. Practically anyone would be able to unlock your device with little preparation. Even with a good software implementation, it's still relatively easy to cheat it.

Hi, it sounds like a cool feature and I wanted to try it. If it comes I think that I will use it, because I really don't care if someone sees my photos and all of that stuff and I don't have friends that will steal my phone, if someone steal my phone he will probably don't even try to hack it. There are really not that much people like this in my city plus that I am not something like a secret agent, so... ?

Certainly. I just wanted to warn you (or anyone reading it) that it's not actually secure. It can add a tiny deterrent too so it's not as bad as slide to unlock for example.
Some of the problems with it is that without additional sensors it relies on a 2D image to recognize you. Sometimes it can unlock via photos of you or people who look similar. That's why Apple's facial recognition works: multiple sensors that are very difficult to cheat and requires targeted prep work to even succeed hence a random pickpocket won't be able to do anything.
You can add software tricks such as checking for eye blinking to determine if it's a live person and use software algorithms to increase accuracy but these can be cheated which is why I don't think even Google's AI team could develop a safe method that only needs a camera.
Just wanted to explain why the software solution is generally a bad idea if security is important to you.
I think you may get your wish though. I don't see why Huawei wouldn't do it. After Apple did it, it seems like it has become a sought after feature again but these companies don't tell you that it's not the same as what Apple did which is unfortunate for most people if they get a false sense of security.
Finger print is still quite secure though and fast too
Probably not, Lite gets a lot of features cut. A lot of them can be unlocked with build.prop editing, but we'll have to wait to know for sure.

And It doesn't come with face unlock. Everything else is ok but the camera. They deliberately ****ed up the once almost perfect camera that the phone came with too. I'll advice you root the hell out of that **** bro??
But one positive is that they keep rolling out Google security patches every single month

I'm looking for a smartwatch for about $100. I might be willing to go up to $150. Refurb or used is fine. I definitely would like something thats got a fairly acurate hear rate monitor and step counter. Ecg and blood 02 would be nice but probably asking a bit much in this price range. I don't care about taking calls on my watch but do want the ability to atleast see who is calling and the option to answer or reject would be nice. If my Tinwoo Smartwatch from Amazon for $40 can do it, I dint for see that being an issue. A keyboard function on the watch would be nice. It definitely need to receive notifications for the Workplace Messenger by Facebook app. Any advice? Oh and ill be paring it with a Samsung Note 10+.

What smart watch to buy?
I never bought a smart watch in the past but am interested in doing so now. What's the best bang-for-the-buck smart watch I can buy? I use a Samsung Galaxy Android phone so I'm guessing an Apple Watch is off the list. I would prefer one that has...

I appreciate the response but don't really see much useful information there. I see links to youtube review playlists, which would be great if I wanted to spend 10 hours watching reviews. Other than that, I see what seems like a reasonable statement. There is no smartwatch that will truly tick all the bells and whistles. Also, when it comes to many of the Chinese variants available, you have a 50-50 chance on any one particular model as to whether it it works good or works like cheap knock-off tech. So I was looking for suggestions on a watch that ticks the particular boxes I am looking for. From there, all I can do is order and pray for a good batch.
So we're almost at mid 2021 and after a whole year I saw my mi watch collecting dust and I was wondering if there's already a way to get the global version running on the chinese device. Or at least install google play. Lately google's been useless af and can't seem to find anything new about this at all.
Any help would be much appreciated. I'm never buying cheap tech again tho. Its 2021, no longer worth cheaping out.

For real, I decided on buying this device “before” the release of the global rom and as a result one year later I still have a Chinese watch
I've got the same problem. All apps and add-ons are Chinese. Although the watch is really nice, battery holds great, there is an English language available but still. Global ROM would be VERY appreciated. If anybody knows of it's existanance please let me know. Thank you.
