Hello Yall,
My screen is using a completely different aspect ratio all of a sudden. The screen is not full screen anymore. It's like missing the edges around the whole screen and wont revert back to normal. I have tried restarting and powering off nothing is working. The navigation gestures stopped working too and I had to put buttons on. I am using 9.0.12 TMO converted international rooted. How can I get this to revert to original?
Mod please delete. I resolved the issue

Hey guys... I'm having a lot of troubles with the lcd screen on my 8525 and this start about a month ago.. I've had this phone for almost one year... bought it as a refurb.
1. when i'm using the phone portrait mode the screen alignment would be perfect... however when i slide the keyboard open the screen goes to landscape and my alignment would be completely off. Heres the interesting part... say if it is still in landscape and i align it then.. it would work perfectly in landscape but then when i close the keyboard and go back to portrait the alignment would be extremely off again.
2. now when i'm in portrait mode and i go to start -> settings -> system -> screen and switch the screen to landscape (w.o sliding the keyboard open) the screen would be perfectly aligned... but when i slide the keyboard open... the alignment would be completely off again... now if i align it while it is in landscape (keyboard open) and go to start..settings..system..screen and change it to portrait the alignment would be perfect... but when i close the keyboard.... it would be off again...
is there anyway i can fix this? I've done a hard reset and flashed the firmware all over again... btw i'm using WM6 from the htc website. if anyone can help...lemme know what i have to do....
thankz
p.s my phones starts with s/n ht649.
Can't say I've seen that reported before. Sounds software based. You could try backing up and hard resetting.
Mike
I already tried that.. it didn't work.
Sorry, my bad - you clearly said you had done that already.
I can't fathom what hardware problem there could be. The magnet orientation switch is clearly fine it seems the X Y co-ords are not swapping over - but that seems a software matter, yet your hard reset suggests hardware - Im stumped.
Mike
If the whole screen is moving, including the start menu etc,
I have seen this before, when building my phone, if the lcd ribbon cable is not alligned perfectly this can occur... but resetting the device did not resolve the issue in this instance.
Cheers
Steve
So I guess I'll have to take it to a cellphone repair shop and have it looked at. I just hope it won't cost too much... the phone was a refurb and i got it for $100. Do you guys have any other suggestions?
The capacitive buttons at the bottom of my tab are messed up. It randomly started today. They only light up when I touch the screen and just flicker on then off. They are normal at the lockscreen. I have tried different launchers, rebooting, everything. I don't have any idea what's wrong.

Just a question, did water sip into your SGT accidentally? I supposed it is more of a hardware issue.
Nvm. Thanks anyway. Did a Titanium Backup and factory reset. Works fine now.
Ok so i bought a brand new Nexus S two days ago, the problem is in landscape mode the touchsreen randomly becomes unresponsive for a few seconds or until i change position or turn screen off and then on again or rotate the phone and back.
The wierd thing is it only happens in landscape mode when holding it so the buttons are to the right but if i flip the phone so that its still in landscape but the buttons are to the left it doesn't happen and works flawlessly.
I searched the net and found various touchscreen problems with nexus s, but didnt really find the exact problem. Can anyone tell if its a software issue or a hardware issue?
Also this Nexus S is with Super LCD and not AMOLED
Thanks
NeM
I had a similar problem. Happened to me a few times on different custom roms. However, my screen is Super AMOLED. I'm just scared it might be a hardware issue so I'm always ready to unroot my phone and get it back to stock so I can return it for repair.
Butt.... I think that it might be a sofware issue since the touchscreen is only unresponsive until you lock and unlock your device. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again for a while. Always gives me a scare :O

Is it running a custom ROM?
Hey Guys. Recently I have started to have an issue with my screen rotation failing to move into landscape and my auto brightness staying dim. It didn't seem to coincide with any software updates which was a bit confusing.
So I cracked on by pulling the back cover and battery and instantly spot a collection of metal filings in a circle directly above the camera sitting on the case. After a clean with an alcoholic wipe, stuck it back together and all was well again.
Just thought I would leave this here just in case anyone else runs into a similar issue :good:
I changed the display , the touchscreen of my one plus. The screen is a lcd and not amoled but works perfectly. After 3/4 days by using it , it started to give me some problems and the only way to fix it is going on the twrp and go back on the old backup. The duration of the problem is not the same but change. This problem comes up when i try to open an application, unblock the screen or after ending a call. The screen just go off and doesn't turn on again, if it gets restarted it will work again but once i get the pin screen it only show it for 1 second and then the phone just turn off auto.

Could be proximity sensor getting blocked. My friend also replaced his screen with an LCD panel. This problem occurs when he calls anyone, so to restored back he uses power button and screen switches on again.
