Any news about march update?
This thread was needed.
Now coming back to the emmc and the cache issue. How does everyone think we can the attention of Xiaomi and Google on that?
Anything we do is not getting enough attention.
Even though the performance is now good there are still a lot of freezes.
Need the inputs.

I'm quite sure that slow emmc isn't software problem. Samsung used to have the same problems and im also quite sure that only Samsung emmc are affected by this issue. Mi A1 too for Samsung emmc had the very same problem, not much Xiaomi can do via software and a large scale refund isn't something to Hope for.
After this update I noticed that the 4G option is gone and now I can only use 3G on both SIMs. Does anyone have the same problem?

Mmmh i see, obviously you have already tried wiping all from mi flash? Because im not experiencing this issue at all for now even though i got my device yesterday.
Slow EMMC lags lags lags all the time. Google and XiaoMi deserted this phone already. I will not consider any Android One phones any more.
I also use to face hiccups when clearing cache. Sometimes it automatically reboots too. But now I don't face this issue on latest PE CAF build. I can clear any caches instantly.

I have a Hynix emmc. My storage write speeds are around 200, So i do not have that issue but definitely has cache clearing issue.
Cache clearing issue cannot be hardware because it only the issue with cache partition.
I can unistall a 1gb game in 1 sec but cannot uninstall say a chrome browser with more than 300MB cache without the phone getting frozen or stuck.

Is there a way to sideload or manual update the new march update in case you missed it? I'm still on february update but it seems march solves a lot of color and camera issues.

There Is definetly a reason if the update was pulled, forcing It cant be good by any means. Wait for the end of the month. It will surely be out soon.

I'm guessing a few people here, like myself, are gagging to know whether Motorola has implemented some fixes in the GB update. So I ask:
- Has the multi-touch bug been fixed?
- Ditto for the h/w keyboard double-press?
- Ditto for the b*ggered up clock widget that keeps telling the wrong time?
Well, the only 2 ppl that can answer your questions are toffee^god and SedaG since they have developer phones. Also this is not a GB update, it's a leaked unsigned beta version that can't be flashed on production phones.
multi touch is still limited to 2, the other 2 problems i have not encountered
the phone overall feels much faster and smoother, feels like a completely different phone

Yeah...my clock sometimes just stop. I would have to restart the phone to get it to sync properly. At first I thought it was my "Fast Reboot" app stopping the clock but it turns out to be something else.

I had the problem before I started using the fast reboot app. I've found that switching off the "Automatic - Use network-provided values", and manually setting the time, and then re-switching on the automatic option seems to fix the stuck clock problem for a while (which is quicker than a restart).
Cheers,
Steve.
you can also use clocksync to resync the time

Is that instead of the "Automatic" option? I seem to remember that someone said that it's the automatic option that causes the stopped clock problem. Is that right?

You don't need that frequency, once a week is enough.
The clock only gets low gaps in this frequency, and you don't want your battery drained faster.

Now for the fix
Go to the phone app and type *#9900#
Change debug mod to high
The device will reboot and when it boots up the lost 330mb will back
Thats all
Thanks..it worked.
If you don't mind, shall I ask, what this setting actually does?
Was this part of RAM intentionally blocked by Samsung?

Yeah they blocked it on lollipop thinking that it will improve the performance in exchange of multitasking but it didnt achieved any of theme i dont know why didnt they disabled it before lunching the update :\
But is supposed to be 1.5G of RAM, why is just 330 mb not 500 mb?
Sent from my SM-G800H using XDA Free mobile app
I actually think Samsung does that with every update to artificially age the device to push sales of newer devices.
Though it might as well be part of internal testing at Samsung that was forgotten. Only time and future updates will tell.
Conspiracy theories aside, thank you very much for the trick. Really helpful. Does debug mode use more battery though? I would imagine the system log going crazy with this option.

Thanks for your relentless efforts in supporting our less popular G800H. I have been testing this fix from the day you posted it and I feel that the phone has become more responsive and fast. Free RAM is close to 500 always and there is no impact on the battery drain as well. Keep up your good work. I also noticed that setting Debug Level to Mid also restores RAM.

I have a question... Does a sim need to be in for the dialer code to work? When I dial #9900# and hit call I get a "Not registered on network" pop-up. I may have uninstalled something I shouldn't have debloating this morning...

I thought everyone here would like to know that although it has not been mentioned in any place or in product specifications, contrary to original BLU-R1-HD, surprisingly this new BLU R1-PLUS supports "OTG" and works perfectly with All File Managers APPs that support OTG!!
Great news, but I have to return mine. Mine does not do multi touch. Is this every plus or just mine.

I've only heard of one or two persons who said on amazon.com, that his new BLU-R1-Plus worked perfectly and that it did not came with the pinch2zoom problems that we all have had.
BLU has already recommended to several people who have complained, make a hardware reset, but I doubt very much that this will solve anything, as I have already factory reseted my R1-Plus several times and this pinch2zoom problem has remained the same.
Although it may be a malfunction of the screen-digitizer or a hardware problem, as some have already pointed out here in xda-developers, curiously with an simple application to adjust the touch screen, such as "SGS Touchscreen Booster", we have been able to fix a little (50%-80%) this pinch2zoom problem , and finally use Google Maps with less erratic behavior.
Let's hope that is not a hardware problem, and that BLU fixed it soon with a software update... And yes, I am aware that BLU is a bit reluctant to launch updates!
BLU has rolled out the fix now

Nobody can give you the right answer for that since there are few people who had issues and there are people who never had issues(I never had any issue, not on october, not on november and not on this update)
Google and gooogle assistant have general issue on all phones in recent updates of those apk-s(as you can see in users comments in google play), that's not the issue of mi a1 OS.

Bugs...hardware issues..different network...different signal, user doing something the system..errors caused by using...it's a software, could be anything. Majority have no problems, but there are cases that do.
example:latest win10 1709 update is working fine on one machine and on the other it's cracking, on the third it's freezing, some apps are not working properly, pointer issues, somewhere there is a high cpu usage, random restarts..all that with the same hardware.
Even though most of users don't have issues, some report that their units are not working.

Manufacturers will usually not release an update for all devices at once. They usually start out at a very low percantage of devices (~1-5%) and wait for reports regarding any issues or failed updates. They then will increase the number of devices over the coming 1 to 2 weeks.
What you delete the google framework data you're esentially telling the google server that you're device has been factory reset which will usually cause you to receive any updates available but this might cause issues with system stability.
See this post from 2013:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...to-never-clear-google-service-framework-data/
conclusion: you can wipe your framework data if you want (i.e. we can't stop you), but you shouldn't. It is recommended to wait until your device is scheduled for the update.

In fact it's possible to skip one or more months and update directly to the latest version. There is incremental OTA between two versions (e.g. November -> December), between several versions (e.g. October -> December) and full OTA (e.g. July -> December).

Thx for the reply. I forgot to add that I tried with another battery - freeze and release continues. But the other battery was a little old - not a new one.
Since last firmware update, Note 3 and Note 4 started to experiment those kind of problem along with shutting down when at about 20% of battery... Is Samsung forcing us to upgrade???

UPDATE:
I read in another thread it was the Google App (the one with G written bigly). I cannot remove it as I am not rooted. So I disabled it (it replaces it with a factory supplied version), it will not appear in the list of apps.
Touch wood: The problem seems to have gone now. :good: :victory:
I am puzzled that an update for a Google App can render the phone useless - hope someone from Google is reading this!

Sorry, spoke too soon!! Uninstalling Google App did improve it a little bit but infrequent freeze still persists. I heard that another friend of mine who has Note 5 also has infrequent freezes. Samsung seems to be the culprit here as mentioned in the other thread.

I installed an app called "WakeLock" - Free from Google Store. I chose Option 4 - Partial Wakelock from Options!! It solved ALL Freeze and Release problems. It does make your phone drink more juice than usual - but it is worth it.
A friend of mine has Note 5 and he has same freeze and release issues. Not buying any more Samsung for a long time!!
Please note that my symptoms were different than the other long running thread.
