I've been lately noticing my OP5 lagging when scrolling, it happens in every application except in Chrome for whatever reason. ATM I have Treskmod + Krieg kernel, but I've already tried to use other kernels without any success. It isn't dropping any FPS also. Any help would be appreciated, as I don't want to spent $1000+ on a new phone.

Yes, that is the right rom. Also sorry for posting this in the wrong place.
Mine is doing the same thing intermittently and has been since several updates ago. I'm on stock ROM and kernel, not rooted. Others have reported the same thing. Is your ROM based on stock oos?

Since it's a GSI and the maintaining is done within this thread and here did no thread exist for this rom(since a GSI ) it's better to head over to the rom thread itself :good:
Not the wrong place, but a place you won't get suitable answers for sure

Sorry I should have done research on his ROM before posting...next time I won't reply at all even though I'm not convinced it has anything to do with the ROM.

It's app issue especially on playstore, Apps like Twitter, playstore, google plus can't render 60fps. + You are using custom ROM and custom kernel. If you want best fps i will recommend you to use oos + render zenith kernel. Or codename phoenix ROM.

I did. Everything worked bar possibly the video recording... but not Netflix (wont load movie)/iPlayer (not synced) and Youtube also has problems with playback. Still looking for a solution.
(Should have added. I have the exact same problem on all Android 5.0 and 5.1 roms I've tried, regardless if they are ports not Note 5/S6 or custom Note 3 stock roms)
For video recording fix, choose Note3 camera when you flash the ROM. The flickering is also resolved in Kernel 1.5 - search the thread for the download link. I'm running DL RC2.1 with DL kernel 1.5 - I don't have any mods installed.
As for the other issues, dirty flash the ROM. If the issues are also on the other ROMs as you said, it's clearly not the ROM issue.

I've tested the camera today on various roms (5.0/5.1) and also using the Note 3 camera. Each one crashes, sometimes rebooting the phone, whenever I try to record video in the camera. Instagram video recording doesn't work either.
I'm pretty new to this and I''m not sure how installing a different kernel might fix/change things? Not sure what a kernel is.

Like I said before, if you have tried different ROMs and the issue persists, it may be a hardware issue with the phone/camera.
The Kernel is the Operating System that runs your phone - it's based on Linux (a type of Operating System). Search for it on the Internet - the link on Wiki gives you a pretty good idea what it is.
How to install the ROM/Kernel is in the First Post of that DardLord Thread. The updated kernel (the current ROM comes with v1.1) is to be installed using custom Recovery.

Also, you'd probably want to upgrade your modem and bootloader as well. I did some research and I'm not using the ones they recommend in the DL Thread. I'm using BOJ1 Bootloader and POF3 Baseband. They work fine together, but remember that the latest isn't always the best.
I flashed darklord rc 2.1 and DL kernel 1.5.it s ok just problem with slow motion and fast motion.
Will it fix in next version?

My baseband is N9005XXUENE3, which Google tells me is a Vodafone Australia one. I'm using the handset in the UK on EE. Not sure what my bootloader is.
I'm currently using OS X so don't have Odin, but I hope to put stock firmware back on it when I get access to Windows. I'm not sure if I should put back on the Australian firmware or put on UK firmware. Do you know if there are any issues with changing countries firmware? Both are N9005 international.
I have flashed multiple times, both official firmwares and custom ones. It also depends on each situation. Your beginning point and your end state will determine whether or not you are successful. In any case, research before you touch the internals of the phone.

I think we are a bit confused. The topic of this thread was around an alternative ROM to our aging Note 3, which Samsung won't provide further upgrades. The alternative ROMs will breathe a new breath of life - which is what DL ROM aims to accomplish.
I can't offer solutions to the ROM related issues or provide any fix schedules, those questions need to be asked on the related threads.

Ah yes. Because the ROM thread is in the Developers section. What I can suggest is to search the thread and perhaps someone has already asked the same question? Or just bookmark the thread and closely monitor the latest activity.
I think the post restriction will be lifted after a user contributes enough to XDA.

No you cant actually turn your note 3 into note 5 but you can install custom roms based on note 5.

Thanks. I only have a Mac so flashing roms can get a bit more tricky. Although yesterday I used my friend's Windows computer and Odin to successfully flash a stock rom. I'm now running the latest UK 5.0 firmware, and no issues. I think now I could probably root it again and use DarkLord N5 rom and possibly wouldn't have the same issues I was having before now that the baseband has been updated, but at the moment I think I'll keep it stock.
Sounds good. To an average user, there aren't a lot of visible changes between 5.0 and 5.1.1 anyway. Unless something you desperately need is missing from stock or you want to be on bleeding edge technology, there is no reason to stress with the custom ROMs
5.1.1. does look a little better, but I'm happy with a fully functioning 5.0. As much as I like the 5.1.1. roms, I'm not keen on the ones that are ports and have features that don't work, or don't work well.

Oh no trouble just people who forget about flash it could run into troubles but if you follow correctly and flash it I don't think there is any trouble at all,
Jasmine roms suggest a "Turning Kernel tool" call kernel adiutor from Google Play for some people experiencing troubles with emotion kernel, if any devs out there or themers of roms could tune kernels could modified emotion to overclock or either fix emotion to run smoother

@MatroxD I was having the same issue on Jasmine ROM. This worked for me to get the driver installed. Go to your Super SU app then go to settings scroll down to Mount Namespace Seperation and UNcheck the box and reboot. Also make sure you have busybox installed. I still can't get it to work but at least my driver is installed now. I think my problem is trying to remember how to set up my music player. I use Poweramp and I remember from my S5 days there are certain thins to do in settings on Poweramp.

a custom rom is exactly what it says it is, a customised version of the original android operating system that somebody has, in their own precious time, played around with to try & give us something a little different for this ageing device. Chances are that if you went out tomorrow & bought an S7 edge & fired it up you would have to update some gapps, whichever you may use. I think you need to take a deep breath & have a little more appreciation & understanding for the things that go on here. If a 5 yr old is able to do what you claim then maybe you should turn your hand to contributing to the community................... but thats just my opinion......no offence intended
Is this guy for real? Apps simply don't revert to previous version after you update them. There's a simple setting in the playstore that allows auto update of your installed apps to the latest version when they become available. And is this how you lose from custom Roms? Lololololol I thought your device blew up or melted.
Buy an IPhone and explain us how cool is it. You'll enjoy it, for sure

Believe it or not, but I have seen similar behavior with some of my apps.
I update it dl today and tomorrow I have to update again, but there doesn't seem to be any changes in the changelog.
But this happens rarely.
So I believe the OP exaggerates. This also started happening only recently, so it's either something related to the new Android updates - which means older ROMs (5.1 and below) should be safe - or something related to gapps.
To everyone who asked for this thread to be closed and/or brought up the fact it's in the wrong place, why did you not click on the little triangle at the bottom left of the post and report it? Mods can't do anything about it if they don't know there is an issue.
As to the OP, I actually tried keeping an Android 2.3.3 ROM's Google apps up to date - one of the features of the ROM I offered. To do that I didn't include anything but the Play Store. Today, such a task would be difficult. If you like, you can download a GApps package from OpenGApps on a daily basis and flash it yourself.

#redmi3s #ViperOS
guys, please help! I decided to try Viper OS, the Rom runs great, but whenever I want to use the GPS for Navigation my phone reboots! I tried with Google Maps and Waze. I was with RR_final before that and also experienced random reboots, even when I am in a call the phone would just restart, so I decided to try ViperOS, but still have these issues. For now the phone only reboots when I use the GPS.
What can I do to solve the problem?
P.s I have not flashed Firmware recently because there was a discussion if we need to update Firmware and several guys stated that updating Firmware can ruin the phone.
Thanks
Anyone?
Try another rom. See if the issue persists. Also give gps fix by difr a try. You can find it in the ROMs thread.
I tried many custom roms, almost all of them have random reboot issues, and even miui.It will stuck a while and reboot, but sometimes even forever until you manual reboot,I don't know is sources or soc issues

Try underclocking the cpu. It's a hardware issue.

Well I faced this random reboot issues in marshmallow ROMs (MIUI as well as custom). But now I don't. Someone else mentioned they had such an issue and told me it was a hardware problem.

Ok,nougat rom also have this issue
I`ll try Arvansoft MIUI. Have not tried it
I've been having this problem as well for the past couple months.
Was thinking of reinstalling MIUI just to make sure the firmware is installing properly.
Its battery draining I used it for weeks and replaced it by aosp v5 (8.0) it's best ROM I think its better than rr
I managed to rid myself of this problem. First, I installed the latest MIUI (global beta) by the official method. Then I installed the latest CarbonROM. Reboots are gone.
Hey there man
I'm facing the same problem as you are, in my case it restart completely randomly. It's a common bug when it comes to custom roms. I searched for an answer on what or wheter there's even a solution.
What I'm trying right now is this:
You need to download SELinuxModeChanger, (I just read out there the safest way to do it is via F-Droid, so get the app from their own client app, should be okay, the XDA thread is this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524485).
You're going to need as well the lastest SU binary and that's all pretty much.
Now, open the app and obv give it root permissions, then change the SELinuxMode from permissive to enforcing. I don't really much know, but so far it works for me, I'll keep an eye on your thread and tell you if this actually fixed my phone, but you've waited enough I guess so you might want to give it a try.
Maybe (if it's a Hardware problem, which I'm not sure at all) you might have overclocked a lil bit too much, try to underclock it.
Search, you find plenty of solutions out there, on of them might be the one! (but keep an eye on what you should and shoudn't do, and search on different forums for the same method so you figure out how safe it is and exactly how to do it)
Hope it helps, at least I've tried. If it doesn't, well, we'll both still having random reboots hahaha
Edit: it didn't but now it reboots less often I guess.
Exactly

Thats exactly what i have faced.Sometimes it goes on days with out any problem. Sometimes it restarts 3 times in a day.
While looking in logs(logs from Android studio monitor , while phone restarted suddenly) the peculiar one i saw is FPC_TAC log . Is it related to fingerprint or what? After that it restarts.

FPC_TAC log usually appeared if you touched the fingerprint

Or maybe the reboots are because of bad memory blocks in the rom.
---------- Post added at 07:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:36 PM ----------
I am maintaining atleast 10 gb free now and faced no reboots in a week. Before when my rom was full it used to restart too frequently.
Anyone can confirm this suspicion of mine?

rom is smooth. Thanks for your work.
fm radio is the only issue.(i hope fixed on next build)
good rom for daily driver.
Wew great work sur thanks for bringing CAF flavour for santoni pie
Nice and stable rom for daily use. Thanks for the update.
The only thing is that it's too heavy for the 2gb variant, imo. After 2 days of usage the available RAM goes down to a mere 400-500 MB.
This is one of the smoothest and most stable ROMs otherwise
Question, should i flash this or the caf edition?
I have tried a pixel experience about 5 months ago and after 3-4 weeks i started getting annoying advertisements in the main screen and i figured out they were coming from the launcher. Anyone else had the same problem ?

This is CAF edition. Refer google to find difference between CAF and normal roms. It depends on the user needs on which rom they should flash

How to restart Phone to recovery??
It uses very much memory. 2.8gb of 3gb even if I restart the phone.
The Latest Update released on 20190309 removes the Gcam Mod present in the phone. Any Link To That ?

I have found this:

Hi,
Thanks for this development.
I had an issue using the CAF edition.
My phone was not able to connect with the data connection.
Using the non-caf edition, it works.
Using the non-caf edition, I had another issues. When I switched between Wifi en hotspot wifi, the UI crashed sometimes.
And the assistant is not able to understand the name of the contact, and ask every time to repeat it,when you try to ask to it to send a message.
Battery with using Bluetooth ist bad for me.
10 Minutes Bluetooth like 5 % Battery.
Anyway to fix this?
Thx!

This worked for me!
It worked for me.
First uninstall Magisk Manager apk in android.
Than go into recovery and flash magisk 18.1 zip.
Than reboot into android again and install magisk manager apk.

It also happened to me. The process named "wifi" takes more than 1GB of ram.
[Solution]
If you have rooted phone then
Kill that process from terminal and you are good to go.. ??
Have a good day...??
