#redmi3s #ViperOS
guys, please help! I decided to try Viper OS, the Rom runs great, but whenever I want to use the GPS for Navigation my phone reboots! I tried with Google Maps and Waze. I was with RR_final before that and also experienced random reboots, even when I am in a call the phone would just restart, so I decided to try ViperOS, but still have these issues. For now the phone only reboots when I use the GPS.
What can I do to solve the problem?
P.s I have not flashed Firmware recently because there was a discussion if we need to update Firmware and several guys stated that updating Firmware can ruin the phone.
Thanks
Anyone?
Try another rom. See if the issue persists. Also give gps fix by difr a try. You can find it in the ROMs thread.
I tried many custom roms, almost all of them have random reboot issues, and even miui.It will stuck a while and reboot, but sometimes even forever until you manual reboot,I don't know is sources or soc issues

Try underclocking the cpu. It's a hardware issue.

Well I faced this random reboot issues in marshmallow ROMs (MIUI as well as custom). But now I don't. Someone else mentioned they had such an issue and told me it was a hardware problem.

Ok,nougat rom also have this issue
I`ll try Arvansoft MIUI. Have not tried it
I've been having this problem as well for the past couple months.
Was thinking of reinstalling MIUI just to make sure the firmware is installing properly.
Its battery draining I used it for weeks and replaced it by aosp v5 (8.0) it's best ROM I think its better than rr
I managed to rid myself of this problem. First, I installed the latest MIUI (global beta) by the official method. Then I installed the latest CarbonROM. Reboots are gone.
Hey there man
I'm facing the same problem as you are, in my case it restart completely randomly. It's a common bug when it comes to custom roms. I searched for an answer on what or wheter there's even a solution.
What I'm trying right now is this:
You need to download SELinuxModeChanger, (I just read out there the safest way to do it is via F-Droid, so get the app from their own client app, should be okay, the XDA thread is this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524485).
You're going to need as well the lastest SU binary and that's all pretty much.
Now, open the app and obv give it root permissions, then change the SELinuxMode from permissive to enforcing. I don't really much know, but so far it works for me, I'll keep an eye on your thread and tell you if this actually fixed my phone, but you've waited enough I guess so you might want to give it a try.
Maybe (if it's a Hardware problem, which I'm not sure at all) you might have overclocked a lil bit too much, try to underclock it.
Search, you find plenty of solutions out there, on of them might be the one! (but keep an eye on what you should and shoudn't do, and search on different forums for the same method so you figure out how safe it is and exactly how to do it)
Hope it helps, at least I've tried. If it doesn't, well, we'll both still having random reboots hahaha
Edit: it didn't but now it reboots less often I guess.
Exactly

Thats exactly what i have faced.Sometimes it goes on days with out any problem. Sometimes it restarts 3 times in a day.
While looking in logs(logs from Android studio monitor , while phone restarted suddenly) the peculiar one i saw is FPC_TAC log . Is it related to fingerprint or what? After that it restarts.

Or maybe the reboots are because of bad memory blocks in the rom.

I am maintaining atleast 10 gb free now and faced no reboots in a week. Before when my rom was full it used to restart too frequently.
Anyone can confirm this suspicion of mine?

Hello,
first: Sorry for opening a new Thread. I think it should be placed into the ROM's developing Thread, but I cannot because I've less than 10 posts and it's an developer Thread or sth like that.
I've Installed the newest (2014-01-24) Nightly. Since the one from 20-Jan-2014 I cannot open "Springfield: Tapped Out". It force close right before the loading screen should appear. All other apps (as far as I know) are still working fine. I'll attach a log-file of the start-sequence.
Does anybody has an idea how I can solve this? Is it because of the zRAM-feature that is enabled right from the 20th Jan build by default?
#SplashmasterBee
hello, i have no answer to your question. But I wanted to ask if CM11 is runs better than CM7.2 ?
I'm still on 7.2, it's quite stable, but it's quite old.
I can't remember if i had cm7.2 installed in my phone, but cm11 runs really smooth. And till the 20th Jan nightly i had no problems, too.

The speed as for me is the same. Better are the new interface features, worse is stability (but I hope it will be correct soon).

How can I (de-)activate zRam option. I'd like to try out if it works then...

I've alredy tried it several times. I made an install from sbf, too ('cause system didn't boot anymore, but I think it was a problem with the incremental update), but it just don't work. Deleted the whole data of the app. Still the same...
In my opinion it could be caused by zRAM (enabled by default since 20th Jan build). I've tried to copy the ovcerclock_defy.ko like Quarx described, but it didn't help (I don't know if it worked so far...).
I'll try a newer build. Gonna report if it works with it...
#SplashmasterBee
Seems to be a general cm11 issue, not device dependent.
Builds before (including?) 20140118 work, later builds don't.

I know you just sharing for the hype, but, at least on XT1078 (dual sim) RIL is not working, the system did not recognize a SIM card in any slot, don't know if it's because the dual sim stuff... The rest seems to behave just like you mentioned, so thanks for sharing anyway!!
Edit: By the way, I managed to install without Titan's Recovery... To be honest, when I tried to boot in titan's recovery my phone kind of bootlooped... So I decided to modify updater-script and change the match names to thea (XT1078), it installed flawless and booted just fine.
Okay that's sad to hear but I can't do much at the moment. But thank you for trying.
EDIT: Multi sim fixed in 07.11 build.

That's the problem. I can't find it too. I got the download link from the Moto WhatsApp Group.
EDIT: I found it. I will update the post.
I saw cyanogenmod so my post does relate to this thread...
so basically i unlocked my bootloader on my Moto G 2014 LTE, I rooted my phone and then installed and flashed using TWRP:
tk_gapps-stock-5.1.1-20151004-signed.zip
Full-CM-12-21-03-15-Bacon-modem-flashable.zip
Both successfully installed and flashed and then I rebooted the system as per the instructions and then my phone screen, instead of rebooting with cyanogen, it went black and wont turn on.
Please could someone tell me what I need to do to get it up an running, I have tried the following:
- holding down power and volume down button for two minutes whilst on charge
- leaving it on charge for 15 minutes and then repeating the above step
- I have plugged it into my computer and it has picked up that there is something plugged in, but my phone drive never shows up.
Thank you
why new thread if it is work of luk and luca?

For titan it would be this file : https://s.basketbuild.com/filedl/de...M13/titan/cm-13-20151021-UNOFFICIAL-titan.zip
But because XT1069 is a dual sim phone RIL (Calls, SMS, Data) will not work. So I wouldn't recommend you to install it. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

Everything works except the things in What's not working in Post 1. The biggest bugs at the moment are that you can't select an other language than english and that Screenrotation is sometimes buggy and you have to restart the phone to get it working again.
I only use English so that's not an issue. I had the screen rotate bug in "stable" roms on two phones. Does it affect games and movies (auto rotated apps) or only switching rotation on and off?

No it doesn't affect games and apps with only one orientation available. But I had to download an app called "rotation control" to rotate my screen when I'm in apps for example browser or apps.
How is this CyanogenMod? This is AOSP with the CM launcher and wallpaper, that's it. And what are these weird search and browser apps?
This isn't CyanogenMod. There is not even advanced reboot menu. This is 100% stock. And no xposed of course. I'm going back to RR.

It is just an early build and a really good one!
My bad. It is a great build. The only issue is gapps. All the ones I found for 6.0 keep FCing randomly and having permissions issues, even when all permissions are allowed
I had the same problem Ace2213, so I've reverted back to 12.1 for now and wait for a proper Nightly of 13.
I just installed omega 6.1 phone looks Normal no boot loop

The random reboots are usually a rom based problem, might also happen after too much modding

I was looking around too many users have same problem (sudden shut down) some says deep sleep mode, some says it's rom causing it. Some says black screen.
What should I try to get rid of it first. Changing rom, no mods. Same rom only formate it again or what?

Id go with a new ROM smth stable, and try to not over do it with costumisation... Resurrection remix was really good for me, it has a lot of features and i haven experienced much crashing... Altho ive been on an old version of RR for quite some time so i dont know how the new onse runs... But here comes the testing phase just download the roms that you think will be good and flash em until you get smth thats gonna stable and good for you oh and another thing xposed also might cause crashing so be careful w/ that if youll be on xposed supported roms...
EDIT: i found an interesting feature in HEBF (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidvip.hebf) to prevent random rebooting dont know about the stability tho... Its under tools and kernel panic, this disables should disable the systems ability to crash and reboot when detecting a fatal SW error

Does anyone how to really fix batery drain on MIUI 12.0.2.0 QFJMIXM?
I made a reset, turn off bluetooth, nfc, gps, stop msa, mba services, nothing works for me in this update vs miui 11, my battery life decrease 50%.
When I try to reinstall this last update, Ota system never found.
Had the same...3h sot on 1 day... horrible
I'm gone to Paranoid, second days, 4h sot ans 32% left. Not excellent but better !
me too, i got +2 days standby (cell + wifi only) with miui 10, a litlle less with miui11, and 12 went crap (with android system using the most like you)
tried what i could find to fix it, but nothing helped. plus miui12 had a bunch of bugs.
luckily i did a full backup before installing miui12. i went back to miui11
maybe in future builds they fix it, but for now, does not worth it for me.

Im using the Global EEA MIUI 11.0.6.0, which is the latest one before MIUI12. instaled using the recovery rom with TWRP.
i tested briefly LineageOS, but in actuality, MIUI is more "customizable" to my likings, and LineageOS feels a bit basic. The "extra" options is the MIUI have is great for me.
i would have tested PixelExperience Plus, but got firmware errors on installing, an as i'm not familiar with the firmware arena yet (i prefer a phone than a paper weight ), i only tested Lineage prior to downgrading MIUI12 > MIUI11

gsam battery monitor can show details, but in my findings the consuming wakelocks are needed system components , and not something you can disable and fix it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm
appears that xiaomi is the one that needed to fix this, unless we have a ninja here that can do their job.
i would do more testing but this is my main phone and i can't spend days without it, testing fresh installs and trying to find the root causes by trial and error

i had done all of this and other things, since i started using miui11. in my case wasn't enough to make the "android system" to reduce battery usage in miui12.
i started to disable fingerprint unlock, uninstalled most of my apps, removed magisk, mods, etc (they may be the cause of problems) and still, nothing visible changed.
don't know if this is a problem everyone having or only a few.

Install Magisk, get a root file explorer.
Go to /dev/diag, set this file's permissions to 666. See if it helps.

Up to you. I think I saw it on 11 too, not sure if that's the same problem.
I just know it's a recurring one for our device
