[Fixed] Netflix crashes On YB1-X90F Nougat - Lenovo Yoga Book Questions & Answers

Hello all! I own the Yoga Book (YB1-X90F) with all the latest updates. Two days ago the Netflix app, which was working fine, updated to version 7.1.0 build 16 31713 from Play Store. Since then the app force closes every time I open it, without showing me any image from the app (for example the login screen).
Any ideas?

Same here.
Any idea? Nothing evident in logcat...

Netflix is down
Same problem

Join the Beta and install the Beta version, no crush

So that means, when the stable channel releases its' version, the application should be operational again.

Netflix is broken for me as well. Does going to the beta version actually work?

Same here. Crushes anyway beta or not.

Yesterday the application updated to version 7.1.0 build 16 31713. It opened once, so I figured that everything was fixed... But it seems that it was an one time launch. Tokay I'm getting the same "force close" error. A friend of mine suggested downloading the beta version (he does not know which it is though), from the Aptoid store, which according to him, works.

With new update on Netflix, mine is working now.

I am not sure what the Beta version is, I did notice beta group at the bottom of the app listing in the play store, I signed up for it. Have not had a chance to try it yet. To be honest my hopes are not to high that is the solution. Will check back tonight.

I am now on Beta and the app updated to version 7.3 build 24. Seems to working again for me.

Since today (26/03/19), the application updated to stable version 7.2.1 build 8 34106 through the official Play Store and I can confirm that it's working fine.
P.S: It was about time

Do you guys still have this problem? Just got a new one - and netflix app just crashes when i try to stream, and when it try to download it shows an error about the device storage limit..

I just picked up a Yoga Book , running Android and has updated to Nougat.
Netflix opens then crashes with error 3.3. According to Netflix its a wi-fi problem. I can receive Netflix no probs on other devices.
I uninstalled Netflix and went looking for and older version. I found this version easily enough 6.25.0 build 010 31666
Downloaded the .apk installed and happy to say all working fine. Just had to stop auto updates from Netflix.
Definitely an issue with the latest Netflix build.

I was just using the Netflix app (version 7.10.0 build 11 34238) from Play Store, which updated automatically two, maybe three days ago. I am sorry I can't replicate your crashes .

OK, so I downloaded the latest version, and eureka it now works fine !
Thanks for the info. :good:

Glad my info helped!
Hopefully, Netflix won't break the app in the future (again)!

It worked for me, still running the Beta.

[Q] Hulu Plus

I have looked every where for the latest hulu plus app for the N4. When on CM10.1 and opening hulu plus it says your phone does not support DRM content. Looking here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1449110 You can find a older version of the app that works great but the nar bar doesn't go away on the older version. I am wanting to know if anyone has or knows where to get the latest version that works with the N4 on a custom rom. Thanks for any help.

Just wanted to add that the new version of Hulu plus that was put out on Jan 16th looks to fix the DRM problem. So running the Latest Minco, and the latest test r47 of Franco.Kernel Hulu Plus is running great with no problems.

Swiftkey not flowing any more

I have both Switfkey and Swiftkey Beta installed, and I have lost "flow" functionality with both of them (it is enabled in the Swiftkey settings, and has been working fine up to now). I did accept the Swiftkey update not long ago, but don't know for sure whether the problem existed prior to the update.
I'm running Phoenix ROM 8.0
Has anyone else had this problem?
Re:
I had this problem on my i9505 under Cyanogenmod 11 (4.4.2). I don't know if you tried this already, I uninstalled both apps and put only SwiftKey (didn't actually liked the beta so much) back, and normal swiftkey started "swiping" again. Haven't tried with the beta. Also, between the uninstalls and installs, rebooted the phone and set default input to AOSP.
I just tried uninstalling the beta and I got predictions back on the normal Swiftkey release. But I really like the numeric keys on the Beta so tried to install it again from the Swiftkey beta site. For some reason this version expired on June 5th - i.e. it'll download and install but it's an expired version.
Does anyone know where to get a Beta that hasn't expired?
Tried googling for New update for SwiftKey emoji beta out today 2 june (2 june is the latest beta release I think). Hit the first result. Link working, apk working, does not seem like expired to me. Isn't this the beta you were talking about?
It turns out that the link I had to the beta (from Google) was a link to an out-of-date beta. On this occasion Google was not my friend :0(
So it's all OK now? Swiping works? (if it turned out OK for you I'd put up the beta again as default keyboard.. to give it another try).

Yep swiping is back too. It seems that expiry of the beta had also crippled the mainstream release. All was resolved when I found the correct version of the beta.

Google Play Services Working...

Just an FYI, the latest Google Play Services update to version 4.0.34 (924341-36) seems to have fixed issues with dependent apps. All is working well for me again, as of this update, which is available in the Play Store.

Not applicable to 4.5.3; ignore.
Updated to the most recent and I'm still getting constant force closes (though my most recent google play services is 7.3, am I missing something obvious?)
No, I was playing too. With no positive results. I think the op found a different old version.

U can use Titanium backup to freeze Google Play Service. I'm using 7.0.99 and freeze it. It will block auto update Google play service.

I am on a rooted 4.5.2 Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 using the above referenced 380 DPI version of Play Services, downloaded directly from the play store with the latest Play Store version & it is working fine for me. Definitely not an older version I stumbled upon, unless Google is specifically pushing older app updates directly to me.
It is also working for me with 7.3.29 (1866531-036), which should now again be the latest.
I tried to let it update on mine and it broke. Odd...
There are two differences between our devices. I am running 4.5.3 on Thor. I also used the universal gapps package.

Google Play Services 7.5.62
Google have released version 7.5.62 (1927436-034) which seems to have fixed the problems I was having with an experimental aosp kitkat build. For the Apollo device I downloaded it from here.

do you just install the apk as normal or is there a special procedure?
thanks
Downloaded and installed from the place recommended. I am rooted on 14.3.2.4 Apollo. Continuously says that Google Play services stopped working, etc. I did uninstall the old play services first before I installed this one. Any ideas how to get this to work?

Thanks but I already tried that, unfortunately it did not work, playstore is just a white screen when accessing apps or my apps

Happening on other devices too although problems do not appear to be as widespread as v7.3. Likely have to wait for another fix from google (sigh).
I'm running a rooted 14.3.2.6_user_326001820 (build date September 8, 2014) on my Fire HDX 8.9", and any version of Google Play Services 7.0.99 won't work. I tried the latest greatest (com.google.android.gms-7.5.71_(1955121-030)-7571030-minAPI9), as well as a 7.5.62 (com.google.android.gms-7.5.62_(1927436-034)-7562034-minAPI9), and they both give the dreaded "Google Play Services has stopped".
To the poster who successfully ran 7.5.62 - did you run it on stock FireOS, or on a different ROM?
Does this work on Saturn? I've rooted with Kingroot and disabled updates but cannot get gapps to work. Is there maybe an alternative download I should try? Minimal works for 2 minutes but then goes haywire...thanks

Thanks, Christopher. That's both comforting (I'm not alone, so I'm not crazy or [probably] doing anything wrong) and annoying (I really wish it worked!).

[Q] Netflix broken on 5.1.1 ?

Does anyone have the Netflix app working on their NP on 5.1.1 ?
Tried cleaning data/cache, reinstalling, rebooting etc.. Launching Netflix v. 2.2 build 636 on NP always fail:
Error : "This version of Netflix app is not compatible with your device (-102)."
Has 5.1.1 came to the NP over OTA yet !? Talked to Netflix support and they are asking to roll back since it's not supported..
I have the same problem
Netflix app 2.2.1 build 643 : Still the same problem
I still have the same problem too. Multiple wipes and reinstall but still error -102
For me it works but im on cyanogenmod 12.1 ROM (which is also 5.1.1 but better and also rooted on Its own)
I suggest installing this ROM you wont regret (with leanback gapps)
I am on cyanogenmod 12.1, the 6/25 nightly. I'll try the new nightly, what copy of leanback gapps are you using, maybe that is what is messing me and many others up somehow, I used the ones linked to in the cyanogenmod thread here.
It seems more people are unable to use netflix than are. If you have a working netflix on 5.1.1 or cm 12.1 5.1.1 please post what recovery you used to install your rom and what exact procedure you used to wipe before hand or anything else you can think of that could be the reason netflix could be giving this error to so many people. Thanks!
I have Netflix app working perfectly on CM 12.1 (Android 5.1)
Try this apk. It was the one preinstalled on my NP and works with stock 5.1.1

Thanks, tried your apk and still get the same error.. Looks like I gonna have to wipe/rollback or flash cyanogen to use Netflix..
Have you tried manually restarting your Nexus Player?
Sorry, I know this is a little old, but I just came across the same problem. Surprisingly just rebooting the device fixed everything.

This is a known issue recognized by Netflix. Here is a work around for stock np. Cm and lollirock don't have the problem.

Exodus can't find streams

As the title says: Exodus can't find streams on my Nexus Player. It finds plenty of links on my computer for the same TV show. The Nexus Player is on the latest official firmware. Already tried reinstalling Kodi. Can anybody help?
Just checked and it's working fine for me. Do you have the latest Kodi 16.1 and Exodus update 1.3.2?

Yes, installed the latest version. It didn't work for whatever reason. I deinstalled Kodi reinstalled it. Did this 3 times. Then I only deleted Exodus, reinstalled it. Still didn't work. Just one hour ago I simply installed Exodus on top of the existing installation. And funny thing: it suddenly started working. Now Exodus is showing me many links. So it's fixed (for now).
Thanks for the response!
