How to disable drop down notification panel on lockscreen? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hi
Currently, when my screen is locked I can pull down the notification bar and enable/disable wi-fi etc. Can I disable this notification panel when its locked?
I'm not talking about "Quick-open Notification Panel" option under home settings. When my phone is locked, i want that to be 100% locked so that others wont be able to enable/disable data/wifi etc etc.
Is it possible?

Settings / lockscreen / lockscreen settings.
You just have to check "lock network and security"
(Something like that, my phone is in french)

Settings -> Lock Screen -> Secure lock settings
Turn "Lock network and security" on.
I'm on Verizon and it is available.

Thanks i see that now and it's already enabled.. but its still not restricting the slide down panel. I locked my phone and now the finger print prompt is there, and i can still slide down the notification panel.. can you give it a try and let me know if its actually working? im talking about when the screen is on, but locked. not standby/always on display mode.

On my G955F, you can still pull down the notification panel, but you can't check or uncheck anything, except the torch.

[Q] Where are the Lock Screen Settings?

For the life of me, I cannot find where the lock screen settinsg are on the SGS3. Anyone let me know?
Thanks!

Yes there are some lock screen settings there but in terms of changing what apps appear on the lockscreen and other type settings it appears that AT&T in their infinite wisdom has decided that's too many options to worry about. Don't want to confuse us users or anything.

Wow...so the reveiws I saw about adding/removing widgets to the lock screen is a moot point for us AT&T folks now...awesome.
How about modifying the apps that are available on the lock screen?
Maybe I'm blind or maybe someone smarter than me can figure it out but I think the only answer is we need root and maybe even need a custom rom to fix (I like to think of it as unbreak).
Setting

Also, this is where you can turn on an information ticker (news/ stocks only right now it appears), weather, and dual clocks for those who travel out of their time zone.

Is this on an AT&T branded S3? Cause I don't have any menu option "Shortcuts" on mine.
OK nevermind, I figured out why I can't see it. I had Swipe lock with secure lock checked off since I have secure lock turn on automatically every time I hit the power button. Didn't think there was any point in having to swipe twice, once on the dandelion and once on secure lock, but I do see occasionally see the lock screen when it times out without hitting power. Once I enabled swipe lock with secure lock Lock Screen Options went from a greyed out option (which I thought was a header) to a clickable one.

Thanks -that did it
It would be really cool if the camera shortcut would bypass the pattern unlock too. Either way, it is cool as soon as it unlocks the camera appears.
Has anyone tried the text shortcut where you bring the phone to your face and it calls them?

You can change the apps on the lock screen. Settings> security> lock screen options>shortcuts then follow the directions on the screen. I don't think you can have more than four apps on the lock screen, though.

It works from contact view, but it doesn't seem to work from Google Voice text, or messaging text. I'll keep messing with the settings to see if I can get it to work as in the european unboxing event.

Poweramp/spotify/pandora on lockscreen?

I've looked through settings a few times, but don't see anything to let apps show stuff on the lockscreen?
In the Notifications settings, there's "Show on the lock screen" but that's it, and it doesn't work. I shouldn't have to unlock my phone to go into poweramp itself to change songs.

Hitting the notification bell will show your notifications and their player notification will be there to change songs.
Wow, so simple and not obvious.. but how do we have it showing permanently? I tested by showing the notifications, unlocking phone, locking, then when I turn on again, it's hidden again.

floating pop-ups

hi. anyone found out how to disable floating pop-ups? i see the option to disable it, but then you'd also disable the vibrate/sound.
is there a method to disable only the floating pop-up?
What are you referring to?

no. when a text comes in, it pops up at the top of the screen. thats the thing i want to get rid off, but cant seem to unless you turn off sound/vibrate as well.
Did you try settings>apps> then select the app that you want to disable floating popup > scroll all the way down to the bottom and select apps that can appear on top and then switch this option off.
I did this for esexplorer which kept showing floating add icons

How to tuneup notifications ?

Hi guys,
I really don't understand how work permanent notifications on this device.
I'm aware we can manage them for each app from notification panel, and from "Notification Menu".
- I can't prevent a specific app to put notifications on lockscreen without disabling "All Notifications" on lockscreen from "Notification Menu",
- I can't prevent a specific app to appear in status bar :cyclops:
I've got a OP5 and I can tuneup apps like I want without problem, but not with this device.
Do you have any piece of advice or special app to use to do what I want ?
Bye.
[Edit] : Well, it seems that to be able to hide a specific app from lockscreen, I have to put a PIN/schema or some sort of security to have the option to hide on lockscreen
When you get notification, long press on it and there would be options. You can select more options, and there's an option for lockscreen.

Thanks, lockscreen option appears after I put a PIN code.
Last thing I have to find is how to prevent apps to put notification in statusbar.
The same way, long press notification and block all.

No, I don't want to block all.
I want some apps to put notification in notification panel only, but not in statusbar.
I have "services" like Tasker, Viper4Android, Mi-Fit who put permanent notification in order to stay alive (I suppose), they don't bother me in notification panel, but I don't want to see them in status bar.

Enable system ui tuner, enable power notifications in there and then you can set level of each app separately with long tap on notification. Exactly what you are looking for.

Many thanks, System UI Tuner was activated but I've not seen Notification option.
Last think I've to find is how to assign ''Menu Key'' to one of the hardware keys without having to install a third-party app (actually I have ButtonMapper) .
In Titaniumbackup I can't access ''Menu'' without ButtonMapper.

Yeah, it's hidden a little bit
For the button remap - it might be possible to remap the HW buttons by system files modification, though probably not worth the effort. With Button Mapper you have effectively several additional fully customizable "buttons" (double tap + long tap)..

Do not disturb on lockscreen?

Is there a way to access the "Do not disturb" shortcut from the lockscreen? So that, at a lecture, it is not necessary to unlock the phone to turn it on?
You can just add "Do Not Disturb" to the quick settings panel.

I already did. But on my phone it still requires me to swipe up, then swipe down twice before I can access the "Do Not Disturb" shortcut. 3 steps plus the "Do Not Disturb".
I was wondering if there was an option to place the actual "Do Not Disturb" shortcut on the lockscreen the way the clock and date is there.
Odd, I dunno if it's something I enabled in GravityBox, but I'm able to pull down the quick settings from the lock screen with just a down swipe.

Thanks. I'm rooted but don't have edxposed installed. So no Gravitybox.
Moto has gestures like 'double twist' to open camera without unlocking. But not for 'do no disturb'.
Yea, I only know of the flip over for do not disturb, but that doesn't help if it's in your pocket.
