Smallest phone supported by LineageOS using a Nano SIM - LineageOS News & Discussion

I'm looking for the smallest phone supported by LineageOS that uses a Nano SIM. I love my Nexus 6, but for traveling it is just too big to easily fit into my pocket.
I'm only interested in phones that are small, can be loaded with LineageOS and use a Nano SIM card.

Why do you need a nano-sim specifically? You're aware you can use one of these right?

If you drop that requirement, the Galaxy S5 is a great option. Otherwise, I don't know. Wait until the Mi A2 lite gets official support maybe?

S5
Thanks Xharos! My thought of Nano only was so I don't have to look for another part/kit to use another phone, just move the SIM, but this could work. The S5 could be an option, but just need to be careful buying just any 5S phone as lineageos only supports 10 of the 16 versions made.

hi
I am also looking for a phone of the size of iPhone-SE preferably with a edge-edge display (ie larger screen than Iphone-SE) but running stock android which can be ported to LineageOS and hopefully dual-sim
Have not found anything which is available stateside...

Perhaps check out an Essential PH-1. I just got one in great condition from ebay for $120.
edit: and i just saw that you wanted dual sim also.. sorry

PSA: AT&T SIM Cards

Those of you planning on importing the Z3 Compact for use on AT&T in the US, keep in mind that it uses Nano SIM, rather than Micro SIM like most other Android phones. So you'll have to go to an AT&T store and get a new SIM...hopefully not a big deal, but we'll see. I'm planning on doing this myself when my phone arrives in a couple weeks, and I'll report back here how it goes.
Anyone had any experience similar to this in the past?
Nano sim cutter picked up for $8 on Amazon, that's my approach. Have used it to cut down micro sims for iPhones.
I got lucky, its the same as my current HTC One M8
AT&T was always pretty nice about giving me a new sim. I had to do that when I got the moto x

advice: buy Axon 7 in China to use in UK?

Hi,
I've been tempted by the Axon 7 for some time now having seen it in Beijing, and was excited to see it demoed in the ZTE Demo truck that went to our local shopping centre, presuming that it would be released imminently. Unfortunately, it hasn't appeared and since the mini version *has* appeared (Car Phone Warehouse), I presume it isn't going to be released at all.
So, I have been wondering what my options are. Is it plausible to buy one when I'm next in China and use it easily in the UK? I'm reasonably literate with phones and flashing/etc, so I could perhaps do that too, if it is an option. Does the Axon 7 in China have all the same hardware features as would be expected in the UK? I'm particularly thinking of things like NFC for Android Pay - NFC isn't used much at all in China, so it would be (almost) sensible for them to leave that off phones sold there, but it is something I would want. I would certainly want the Play Store and such like.
I have used a Chinese phone in the UK and successfully installed the Play Store on it (and it had an Intel CPU so it wasn't completely straight forward). It was also a ZTE phone (Geek v975) as it happens.
Any advice on what to do?
Max.
PS. My main reason for the Axon 7 is the front-facing speakers. However, other than not allowing *both* microsd *and* 2nd SIM, it is pretty much spot-on (note that HTC One X9 has a dedicated microsd slot and great front-facing speakers, but I can't find one that isn't locked to CMCC, and it doesn't seem to be so well thought of on this forum, though I see it does have a forum so I'll ask there too).
Axon 7 is a greate deal of hardware.
Of course you can use Chinese version on UK, but you have to flash Global rom and modem.
I myself own a Chinese version, but I flash US rom, because chinese rom is lack of play store and full of crappy app
Hi David
I did exactly what you are thinking about. I'm typing this reply from a 128gb Chinese zte axon 7. I bought from Ali express. When you but from china the seller will root the phone to enable Google play store. That's fine but it screws up obtaining the OTA updates. I can walk you through how to overcome this and get onto 7.1.1. No root nothing like that. My advice it's easy and you can save a packet getting a great phone.
Currently you can pick up an axon 7 for 270. Job done.
I'm running my 128gb Cuba version as well. I have 2 sims and an sd card running on it. There's a few threads on how to go about it. There's not much that needs doing apart from installing Google on the phone. Everything is simple. Just use the search function and you will get everything you want.

Community support for G5+ 3Gb dual sim version

Im looking for a new smartphones and the g5+ seems like a greath value phone. Im not a power user but tend to keep my devices for about 4 years. I know Lenovo doesnt update value phone for 4 years, so community support is a must.
I know motor g 1-4 had/have a strong community but im a little worried if the European 3Gb dual SIM Moto G5 plus version will get strong community support.
So I would like to know if it's likely the 3Gb dual SIM version will get official lineageOS?
I would especially like to hear from developers planning to develop for this version...
It's too early to ask all that but it will get all eventually

For your information @squid2 said he'll gonna support the device. So we have to just wait now...
Yes! great to here! i just bought the australian 3g ram 16g storage g5 plus and can stay stock for long its never been my bag
the custom roms are being developed for all the variants of the phone, efforts had been done even for brasilian DTV version, so dont worry.

Very happy with my Mi Max 2

Got the 64gb international version from gearbest last week to replace my Nexus 6 ( previously phones Sony Z Ultra, Huawei Mate 7, Galaxy Mega previously, Dell Streak). Best phone so far by a long shot. 4G Telstra works fine here in Australia with this model.
Build quality is great and got an OTA update this morning which was a surprise, wasn't expecting much from a Chinese phone after my experience with Huawei. Put Google Now launcher on because its what I am use to which works fine.
Only complaints are the lack of Australia in the region list which means I get an American accent on Google Maps. Screen is a bit washed out compared to the OLED Nexus 6 but that sucked in the day light where as the Mi Mix 2 is heaps better out doors. I need a good out door screen for my drone flying and the Mi Max does a great job.
Honestly thought I would have more issues with this phone but its great and cheap too.
thanks for the review. Can you kindly confirm if the sd card when inserted is working nicely?
sd card work great as well as battery
I too ordered the international 64gb version, just unpacked it and damn... A worthy replacement for my Nexus 6. Prior to that, I checked the wiki and contacted my mobile operator just in case and two out of three bands for LTE work with this phone in Estonia (Northern EU).
Ok a week in now and oh boy is this a great phone, battery is phenomenal!!! Not sure about the SD card, I don't need one with 64gb on board.
Navigation bar button lights were irritating when reading using the Kindle app at night but just disabled them for the kindle Kindle app in the settings, too easy.
10/10 so far for me, a Xiaomi convert.

I actually did have a problem with the SD card. It worked fine on my old phone (Sony C5 Ultra), and my computer could read the data too. But the Xiaomi told me it was corrupt. Switched it back to the Sony and it was fine, so whatever the issue was, was with Xiaomi. I copied all of the data to my PC, let Xiaomi re-format and then copied the data back. A little bit annoying, but had no issues with it since then. Maybe the phone cannot read some format types (ExFAT etc)?

Same with me, I think the phone can only read FAT32 or whatever, SD card works fine but only after phone re-formats.

global rom causes this. Use xiaomi.eu ROM and you won't have this issue.
I bought the 4gb/64gb Indian model. Looks and performs like any premium phone.

Hey mate, we have similar taste in phone. I can't agree more with what you said. I don't think that region option affect much to your phone functionality besides the bookmarks on the built-in browser, you can change the Google TTS voice from the language and input settings and change your voice to Australian or UK English.
Just got this baby to replace my Mi Max 1. I love huge phone, and this by far the best phone I've owned so far (Mi Max 1, Nexus 6, Z Ultra, LG V10, Samsung Note 4, Mediapad X2, Honor Note 8) the best thing is it's so cheap, 300 AUD shipped from Ali.
Black global, 64GB, Aldi mobile (Telstra), Vodafone Dual standby, and 128GB micro SD card altogether with the extension thingy.
Also, you're right, stay away from Huawei as far as possible. Total crap. (Honor Note 8 & Mediapad X2 owner here)

Should I buy Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in 2018?

1. Is it genuinely best to buy it this year? (Because, its OS is old so there might be problems in the updates, like some part or the whole mobile not working properly or some apps not responding properly to the updates etc.)
2. Furthermore, after warranty period, will it be easy to get it serviced or replace its parts if required? (Because it is an old model and still I didn't get the info after my searches whether it is discontinued or not. Because, if it is discontinued then it might be a problem).
3. I want to connect either 1TB or 2TB SSD to it. So, will it function properly without hanging or slow speed? (Of course, I'll connect the SSD to a power bank). (I am not expecting look and build from the mobile but a best and speedy performance in any scenario).
the mobile is good if you want to enjoy the pen functionality and removable battery feature. The phone is still fast enough. you will get the security updates but will not get the os updates.. if you are going to buy it, for another 2 more years you can use it without any worry. dont know if you can connect 2 tb ssd.
If you get one for a good price. I would not pass it up.
Once you go note you can't go back. I got a 2nd for 250$NZD that's like ($180us) flashed every rom on here multiple times(exynos) , now it's a daily on nemesis with prime kernel. No finger print function but it's practically a note 7
From what I am remember I've had class 10 SD cards die the most
These are usually high capacity, Been through 3x class 10 (2x64 1x32)in under a year, I think high capacity SD your asking for trouble, one drop, bung
I stick with 16gb SD ive had for over 4 years even a4gb I've had for even longer
my advise is very simple : go for Note 5
You should still be able to find brand new models of the Note 4 for a excellent price if you shop around for them online. The Note 4 is still a good device however it isn't as secure as most current android devices.
Note 5 don't have replacing battery ,you must go to service to change it.
You can go to GSM arena and compare Note 4 with all Samsung series and you will see that Note 4 have all hardware like this new models from 2018 ,on some model Note 4 have better hardware.
I buy second time this year Note 4 ,learn how to root ,flash Resurrection rom with 8.1 Android and have everything that have all new phone today's. From the look, from the icon,system..Everything..
Also you can use Substratum theme to add even more look and change it how you wants to your phone look.
Its just amazing that my phone 4years old support and have hardware to support all newest systems from today.
