An Idea for Space Problems in Nand Builds

I thought about some Nand Builds with Sense and Desire HD Builds and most of them have squashfd to get more free space. But why? I think removing any stock apps or widgets and compress as much as possible is not the right way to get a full functional Desire HD Build on a HD2.
Maybe it is possible to use some Space from SD Card to lower the Space Problems? I Have a Netbook with 4 GB internal Storage on SSD and i extendes the usable Space with an 8 GB SD Card with an partition for Apps and Games. There is no Problem to get the System to use other Partitions for Apps and so on. So why it is not possible to put /data/apps to an external Drive on SD Card?
I don't know if some other Problems occure by this way but i think if it is possible to do it we will get as much space as a SD Card could give or not?
I love Desire HD Builds but i hate non stock Builds with new Apps witch i preffer to install by myselfe if i need them and with removal of serval apps like friendstream or something else. And the Squashfsed Filesystem makes it harder to fix missing apps or remove not used apps.
Sorry for my bad English. But i hope someone understand what i mean and could think about if its possible or not
Modinstalllocation let you install ANY application on your sd card. Problem resolved
Some roms are already storing the userdata.img om the SD card.
Then all user data/apps get saved to SD and the NAND is only for sysfiles.
Is this what you mean? If so, check the NAND section to look for these 'userdata.img' roms and try one.
Yes i saw a Desire Z Build with data.img on SD Card. So i only have to wait untill all other Builds like Desire HD are using this option? I think there are only two Desre HD Builds at the moment (Feather HD and Gauners Desire HD) and both dont use SD Card for Data. Gauner told me he is still abit in trouble with privat things and could not spend 24 hours for this Build. And the other Build is not what i want! Without so many nice Apps and Widgets i could use stock Froyo and thats it.
Maybe i just have to wait ... who knows.

Desire HD Rom?

Does any have a list of Desire HD Roms that will work on the EU HD2(512mb) without filling up the entire phone with the rom?
I have tried a couple & had no space left to install any apps.
Thanks
you need to make sure you use one that uses either data2ext or apps2sd

You may have tried them but you obviously haven't read the topic correctly as majority (if not all) use either Apps2SD+/ext or Data2SD/ext so that all your user date is stored on SD or a partition on it.
Go back, and try them again but this time read the instructions and you will have a working DHD rom with plenty of space for apps.
I did try all that SD card partioning stuff & then installing the rom using Rom manager - Still no joy.
Thanks

Tyvm. I messed that topic
I tried last version on a Verbatim 4GB Class4 MicroSD. Formatted it with Panasonic tool (Full Erase Std Cluster) then i used explorer to format again (Fat32).
Android boot but it is really too slow . It takes about 20 min before show the home, after this system go a bit quicky (still slow) but many apps dont works (Wifi conn, Mic, Battery level and Gps).
Should i try another MicroSD?
First of all, read the link tzacapaca gave you again! Mic, Batt and GPS dont work atm!
To your SD card problem... there is also a thread about that. Read it and if it dont helps, post there!

Alpha tester wanted for SD swap flash....

:good:Hi, I have a SD swap flash that I made for the xt907. I am pretty certain it will work on the Atrix HD & the Photon Q. If the Photon Q recovery works on the Razr HD then I know the Swap should work as well. But I as of yet do not know this.
Atrix HD SD swap
xt897 SD swap
If anyone tries this a recovery backup will save you and simply flashing the mod is more surly fixed by a recovery restore than testing Rom Manager. The sd swap flash will also prove that Rom Manager will work.
It is SS compatible too.
