Im looking for a mirroring app that will allow my friends to watch what im doing while playing the the VR. Lately ive been using "MirrorOP sender for galaxy" but it has very low FPS and is quite laggy. I know the chromecast and firestick use to work but with one of the more previous android versions theyve stopped working. So im wondering if anyone has found a good one that works with the s7 edge? Thanks
Wow, I didn't think that anything like this would be possible. I really hope someone has a solution for you because I think my wife would love to watch as wearing the VR herself seems to hurt her eyes/headaches
It is already possible! Its no longer in 3d or as exciting but, if you install the aforementioned app on your phone, then download its counter part onto your computer, then hook your computer up to you TV, it works. However as i have mentioned it is very low FPS.
Did you try the chromecast with its dedicated app? I don't have my gear myself yet, but casting your screen still works flawless. Just start casting your screen with the app and put it in the gear afterwards.

most reports are saying that chromecast doesn't work after 5.1.1 android, i was wondering if it has started to work again with the s7 before i go buy one.
Hummm.. I have a newer sammy tv.. I can mirror pretty easy on this thing.. dont think I need an app.. will have to try it out if my vr ever shows up.
Hi everyone,
I am using the Gear VR with my phone but for sure it lacks some features. As I see the google daydream is much interesting and I would love to try it/have the headset when iz comes out. What worries me now is if our devices (Exynos) will be supported for the daydream.
What are your toughts on this, do you think we will be able to use it?
Hi! Is LG v20 Daydream compatible? Thank you very much!
App says it is incompatible with all of my devices. There's been speculation that Daydream VR will have certain hardware requirements that the V20 is not built to. If you want to know what those specs are, look at the Pixel.
Ok, thanks for your reply. I have read AMOLED screen is needed and v20 has IPS screen, but then I don't understand why Huawei Mate 9 is sold as a Daydream compatible device and it has an IPS screen too and lower resolution than V20...
From what I've heard, the preference on specs is partially based around the prospect of keeping the production of heat down. Start working that processor and battery plus sealing it all up inside of a fabric box and that could cause some issues.

If that's the case why isn't v20 included? Mine doesn't get very warm and dissipates the heat it does accumulate very well.
You cam manually install Google VR services, Daydream, and the VR apps from apkmirror without issue on the V20. So technically you can make it at least run. Waiting for my Daydream to come in to see how well it actually works.

Only the Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design edition is daydream compatible. It has a 5.5" 1440p AMOLED. Costs $1400 but yea.

Would you be so good as to tell us how v20 works with Daydream when you receive it? Thank you very much!

Hi! I've found this thread and there are some v20 users trying to install Daydream (look at comments): https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/co...p_incompatible_with_your_device/?compact=true
Have you tried to install Daydream software and VR services via apkmirror at v20 with no problem? Is software working ok for you?
Thanks again, my friend.
There is a Qualcomm VR SDK that DayDream requires. That SDK is only supported with the additional hardware features of the 821. I would not expect DayDream to be compatible anytime soon, if ever.

that doesn't seem right since the axon 7 has an SD820 and it was billed as the first non google daydream compatible phone.

So just got it in and am completely unable to make it work. The daydream app runs but crashes as soon as you try and put it into VR mode. Attempted all the settings, including the daydream developer settings to no avail. I'm able to sync the remote to my phone, but it has no functionality. And all cardboard apps work though.
Open to any suggestions to make this thing work. Although my posting wont have the speediest responses.

Thanks for trying it out. Anyone have any suggestions or has anyone figured it out? Maybe we have to get the update to 7.1 before it will work?

DayDream would look like **** on an IPS display. You need AMOLED for the better contrast, true blacks, and low persistence/instantaneous pixel response.
hello, i am trying to run the daydream vr kit on another phone lg G3
but i have got an incompatible phone error message
i tried to modify build.prop, but it's not enough
if they are realy using qualcom sdk, then you need a 64b cpu
This is for the 2017 (7th gen) fire HD 10
I'm trying to install Asphault 9 and Ark: Survival Evolved specifically. I think they're showing as incompatible because I've only got 2gb of RAM. Could also just be because it's an Amazon device, I really don't know. I know Ark is pretty intensive on most devices so I'm not expecting it to run great but I still want to try, I doubt it wouldn't open or something. As for Asphault 9, I have no Idea why it wouldn't run just fine seeing as how 8 does, they aren't much different. I've tried using the old Market Helper app, which does make Google Device Manager see my tablet as whatever device I set it to, but the problem is that the app and all of the devices it can spoof you as are so old, that they're also all incompatible. Unless it's just not working properly? The most powerful processor any of it's spoofing options have is a Snapdragon 801 in the LG G3 or Galaxy S5, does anyone know if either of these games are compatible on those devices? My old G3 is broken so I cannot test. It's not a region thing, I'm in the US and both games are compatible on my Axon 7. What are my options for making my tablet appear compatible? I don't want to side load because I want to get updates and connect to Google Play games.
Samsung drop support for note 10+ on gear vr and google daydream. What to do next. Is there any vr headset that will work with note 10+. Can devlopers make a note 10 plus rooted device to work with those headset? Thats is the question! Please advice or try any other headset.

Yes, this is annoying!
This is so freaking annoying. Headphone jack and now this. I guess I have to sell the Gear VR now.
I had the VR as a gift on the launch of the note 8 and I used it once then when I first received it to test it out. It was neat but not something I’d use. I bought a case for it and it sat in it every since. That was 2 years ish and i forgot I had it. Not sad to see they dropped support and yes now I too need to sell it...
I had a gear vr that I used with my S9+ and was disappointed when I placed my note 10+ in it and nothing happened. A google search quickly told me that vr gear abandoned it!
Manufacturers need to quit doing stuff like this.. I get that it costs money and takes up resources, but they convince us to buy all this technology, and then at some point we have to choose between a new phone and continuing to use the tech.. My VR isn't even that old, and now I have a whole VR setup that's useless.. They should've put a disclaimer on the product page that it was no longer supported. I have the VR, remote, bluetooth console controller, gaming headset, and it's now useless. I get the headphone jack delete, but bio sensors, VR, reliable fingerprint scanner, mag-strip payments.. I'm getting tired of losing capabilities with each upgrade.
