Thanks.
The iranian calendar app called گاهشمار خورشیدی is normal for this CSC.

Yes, exactly, this is the application name. so is it normal to get international unlocked phone with an application specific to a geographical region ? I expected to have CSC Country: unknown. Please correct me if my assumption is not accurate. Actually, the seller is waiting for my decision if I want to return this phone.
Thanks for your help.
You can easily flash your own country rom and everything will be fine

There is no such thing as csc unknown. Csc don't go by gps. U get the csc of the country rom that is pre loaded in the phone. It will never change unless u manually flash another country rom.

I have my S7 Edge for a month now , everything used to work fine (located in Pakistan)
Two days back I flashed a new Stock Rom from UK to check country restricted apps (there were not much though) and I noticed on that ROM USSD codes were not working and neither do my sensors.
Now I reverted back to stock rom of my region, now the sensors are fine, but USSD codes are still not working. I tried the 2 ROM available for my region thrice, but still the same issue.
Please suggest what should I do?
Note: I didn't root my phone (because don't want to void my warranty since I paid extra $150 for that) nor do there's any network restriction on USSD.

You need to change your CSC to any other region or country.
The UK CSC no longer allows using the USSD codes.
I had the same problem using USSD so I just changed to a different CSC.
Once I changed to a different CSC the USSD codes worked perfectly.
Go to this link to download twrp flashable CSC's for your phone.
You will see a large selection to choose from:

Good luck,
Have a great day!

When don't you stop thinking that all people ROOT their phones?
"TWRP flashable CSC's": so you phone has to be rooted! Not everyone wants their phones to root, and there are people who won't want the KNOX-flag triggered!

After giving it a lot of thought you're right, perhaps that's the first thing I should ask,
maybe the reason I did not think of asking is because I come from a rooted family...
But sooner or later doesn't everyone root their phones? LOL
Have a great day!

The root method does NOT trip knox! Stop spreading your nonsense lol! It is done with the Samsung official engineering bootloader. Again, WARRANTY VOID: 0x0 :good::good:
I have been flashing/testing different carrier's firmware and have rooted the phone pictured below 3 or 4 times now and, as you can see, it's golden. Currently it is G935U but originally it was from Sprint.
hi,
i have the same problem on my galaxy s7 SM-G930 F
NONE of the ussd/mmi codes work!
when i type the code nothing happens
i instaled the PhoneINFO app and in the CSC Code card the Original CSC Code field is empty
but all other fields are filled:
Product code:
sm2g930fzsadhr
original csc code:
firmwares csc code:
DHR
Active csc code:
DHR
Availabile csc codes:
CRO, DHR
CSC Country:
Croatia / HR
Mobile Operator:
HT HR / 21901
how can i fix my s7 so CSC Codes can work again!
How to fix invalid MMI code on samsung galaxy s7
I have the same problem on my galaxy s7 SM-G930F.
When I check Divert if Unavailable (62) using *#62# I get the error
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code."...
It turns out that the G930F (BNIB sealed) I bought was a grey import and even though the hardware G930F is international, the firmware loaded is for the UK and the Phone INFO app shows the CSC to be "BTU" (see CSC codes) . And so even though the phone is unlocked, it does not function 100% in the Australian mobile network.
To fix this I had to flash the AU firmware for the CSC code XSA found at
SM-G930F — Galaxy S7 firmware
using ODIN.
After this the CSC is updated to XSA and all USSD codes work perfectly!
No rooting required!
A bonus for having the correct CSC/firmware for my S7 is that VoLTE now works with the carrier!
Hey people,
I have recently bought a G950F in a pre-sale from Vivo, which is the carrier I use here in Brazil.
I hate those carrier extras (apps, splash screen and stuff). Every time I buy a carrier branded phone I flash it to get rid of that stuff. That's what I wanna do with my new S8.
I went to Sammobile site and could not find a specific ZTO ROM. So I took notice about multi-CSC ROMs. I was then searching for a multi-CSC ROM which fits my phone, and I found this one: https://samsung-firmware.org/download/Galaxy S8/60y7/UFU/G950FXXU1AQCC/G950FOWT1AQCC/
This is for Uruguay (UFU), but also is exactly the same ROM I have in my S8, and included ZTO. Since it's for a different country/region, I flashed it (using CSC file, not home_CSC), hoping I was debranding. But I was not, my S8 is still branded.
How do I unbrand it? I have read that I must flash a OXM CSC ROM (it also includes ZTO) to change the original CSC of my phone, since it may not have changed because it was the same that it already had. Is that right?
I will try now an Argentina ROM (https://samsung-firmware.org/download/Galaxy S8/98v5/ARO/G950FXXU1AQDG/G950FOXM1AQDG/) which is OXM CSC.
Samsung was pretty strict about what carriers were allowed to install this time, at least in the US. Try to see if you can just uninstall the carrier specific apps, on my phone nothing was in the system partition so they could all just be removed.

Not here in Brazil. I can uninstall some, but not all carrier apps.
What bothers me is the awful splash screen. I can't remove that.
When I had a Galaxy S5 with a 3uk or ee splash screen if I remember correctly there was a oem folder or something similar which got loaded everytime irrespective of what rom you flashed, maybe that's the case with branded s8's?

I don't think so. I had my S7 flashed to debrand it, and that did not happen.
Yesterday I flashed my S8 with that argentinian ROM I have mentioned (https://samsung-firmware.org/downloa...G950FOXM1AQDG/). It looks ok now, without carrier splash screen and bloatware.
But sometimes I get a notification from AutoPreconfig, asking me to use new apps and configurations from my new service provider. If I open the notification, it says that to use apps and configurations from my new provider, I need to restore my phone, all my user data shall be lost, etc. I can press "ok" and nothing happens.
Why does that happen?

What i did was this:
1. get you phones imei:
go to dialer > dial *#06#
take a note of your imei without the /01 at the end.
2. go to phone dialer > dial *#272*(your phones imei)#
3. choose which csc you need and install it.
your phone will reinstall firmware with the new csc region you choose.
done.
Just done this to my S8 SM-G950F and switched from GLB(carrier) to XTC(unbranded) csc.
hope this helps.

There is a whole thread about carrier switching in this very forum
the only thing you need is a supporting sim card to be inserted into the phone. the sim card has to be from a local carrier that supports the CSC features

I recenlty bought Galaxy S8 Duos from ebay and was in the same situation. My CSC was EGY while both sim cards from Czech Republic. Phone was functional but for example Samsung Members app showed me offers related to Egypt which was quite wierd.
I was browsing lot of forums how to change CSC code and almost all methods requires flashing new firmware or root the phone. What I did after couple of days - factory reset from the menu while both CZ sims were inserted. Phone than started using CSC ETL (Czech Republic unbranded) automatically. No need to do anything else.
Hope this help someone...

Do you have a windows PC with ODIN installed? You can grab a CSC file you desire and manually flash it onto your phone, but results may vary.
How can I change from a single CSC (TNZ) to a multi-CSC without root? It doesn't seem to be as easy as for my S8.
Any luck with this change. As i am also looking to change in my note 9

what trouble are you running into? flashing a CSC doesnt require root as its done in download mode and every Galaxy S phone from the S8 on are capable of taking any firmware built for any US bootloader version S device youre on. It will very likely require the patched version of odin available here
for the most part, all the CSC does is tell the phone what carrier its on which tells it what LTE bands to use, what carrier bloat to install, config for voLTE and wifi calling etc etc
