Yeah..as of new Samsung a50 is fast....but it depends on day to day use...I heard that Samsung products lags after sometime...I will give my feedback after 1month of use
using since a month, no lag no issues except the fingerprint
Sometimes fingerprint works good...but othertimes it is just annoying
For me:
-opening Apps list in settings - laggy
-dialing - laggy
Sometimes phone is bit laggy..
Opening apps takes time...
Any tips??
Got no problems with its speed. I'm impressed by how this device delivers your day-to-day ops.
Occasionally lagging, but nothing major. I would say we need to wait for update (April security patches),in which Samsung states that fingerprint issues will be solved.
Currently using both A50 and A8, and can confirm that the A8 is smoother and more "premium " feel...
The device come with really a lot of Samsung apps preinstalled and some bloatware, that most of people just don't need, so the a50 model with 4G ram can be not enough.
but after adb debloat, everything is just fast and smooth, even with 4 G ram

Well this one is not the best, but it use different sensor than S10. I just don't use it (except banking app etc.). Funny thing is that with dry fingers it's unresponsive, but if you slightly lick your fingers it works without any issues. On my S10 is no problem at all.
guys does the phone heat up specially while using chrome? I sold my new S8 because it got super hot with just 5 minutes of chrome or youtube
Chrome is garbage anyways, use another Chromium fork or Firefox.
Day to day used, it good im satified, but in playing games when it comes to smoothness, it failed like in mobile legends that mine have no high frame rate option, in pubg mobile lite, good but not as smooth in old oppo a3.

In my opinion, the Note5 generally feels fast, but we all know that the phone has problem holding apps in RAM, scrolling can be choppy at times, and the keyboard has trouble keeping up. But that's like 10% of the time. The other 90% of the time, there pretty much a 1:1 level of responsiveness without the phone feeling like it's falling behind. However, I used a Galaxy S6 (that had 5.0.2) and it started getting quite slow after just a few weeks of use. I haven't experienced that yet with the Note5, but I'll report back if I do!
Super fast and fluid, best Android phone ever used since my first one 5 years ago
The phone is very fast! There have been instances with 1 or 2 hiccups, but I don't expect ANY device to operate flawlessly. Even the most expensive desktop, I wouldn't be upset if it had a hiccup once in a while.
I've stuck with pretty much stock everything. I would normally install Google's Keyboard and Nova or Action Launcher. Those are my first installs. I did install them, but found myself wanting to stay stock, so I did. Only thing that is "custom" is the Material theme I installed via Samsung's theme store.
I've had the phone for a week now. Very fast performance however there is the occasional scroll lag.
Upgraded from an S3 on slimkat so quite a noticeable bump.
Battery life for me has been great, about 7 hours SOT over 24 hours.

Coming from the g4 the note 5 is a very fast and snappy phone, and the apps being killed aggressively hasn't bothered me
Generally really fast and smooth. Did notice a stutter here and there but so did my Nexus 6. Anyone that claims there arent any stuttering on any phone (including the stuff that fruit makes), is either lying or disregarded it. Battery life has been great. 8am to 12 midnight with like 15% and not charged at all during the day.
upgraded from iphone 6 plus. note 5 is really fast and snappy when compared to iphone.there are some occasional stuttering and subtle scroll lag. but hey iphone also had them too..

I have my Note 5 about 2 months. I think the Note 5 has smoother operation than the Samsung phones before, and it also has fast responding speed. It quite comfortable to use. I found no disadvantage so far. Hope it can be durable.
Snappy all the time. I don't like the keyboard and so switched to SwiftKey which is awesome as it has got a compact mode best suited for phablet.

In everyday use, almost flawless. Only time it ever lags is once a day or so, in the lock screen, it freezes before turning on. Not big an issue.
In benchmarks, it still smokes the competition. And it has no throttling issues whatsoever. Did a test to see how CPU throttling was: ran several consecutive Geekbench runs. Room temp, air con on, N920I running AOJD 5.1.1.
What about the stutter in facebook when checking the comments and likes? is that app compatibility issue?
You can check this video to check the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh4D0wJ0l8s&feature=youtu.be

Note 5 is fastest phone ever made, it the only one that can run PPSSPP emulator and play tekken 6 at 60fps!!!, g4 choked on 30fps and felt choppy, Note 5 is a dream.
Absolutely snappy, no lags whatsoever!! I've been using it for 2 weeks now and coming from a note II, (which is still good on all levels after 3 years of usage, even the battery, the one that came with it, still holds one full day) there is a great bump and makes me confident that the note 5 will last for years to come. Way to go Sammy!
Im galaxy S series users i used almost all S series devices, but after using note 5 tha phone is ama, , its work like Charm, my rating about oveall speed is 9/10... N thanks for this note 5 forum....
when on stock firmware no modification. fast at first but will show some jitters the longer you will use it. i rooted mine used custom rom debloated with custom kernel. there on performace is awesome. looking forward for more custom rom for n9208 though...
super fast and smooth
I've had mine for two months. Still flies. For those of you that say it slows down after a while, just clean up after yourselves and you won't have that problem.

ABSOLUTELY awesome! Antutu's get consistent 60,000 to 67,000 (after disabling the pesky T-Mobile MyAccount app) and I've noticed NO issues whatsoever with speed.
Haven't noticed an issue at all with speed, whether it be opening a new app or switching to one I've had open in the background for a while. I'd say it's on par with my old galaxy s5, but definitely not as snappy as my s6.
I was underwhelmed at the speed at first, was no faster than my Moto X 2013, but when i turned off animations i noticed how truly quick this phone is, loads everything speedy, when i play games with my friends, im always the first to load.

how did you turn off the animations? also, there are ways to lower the screen resolution to 1080p, have you tried that?
I thought it was OK for a while. Held up pretty good against an lg g5 and a nexus 6 I had. Then I got a Verizon galaxy nexus (a dual core, 1gb ram phone from 2011) and was shocked. Now, of course the galaxy nexus was on android 4.2.2.... But it loaded everything faster and could even have more tabs open in a browser before getting laggy. I always thought 4.4 and 5.0 brought a huge speed slowdown to android, but had no proof until now.
Mine is not smooth.
For example it took more time to install an app from Google Play than my old Nexus 5.
I'm really not a fan of this phone (I only bought it for the physical keyboard).

Nokia 8 has better geekbench 4 scores than pixel 2
Official Oreo release
That results good enough to get me on page 1 sorted by multicore when it's uploaded
Think I've got a goodun!
good performance
Last run now uploaded. Sitting 20th
Just run Gekkbench on my Nokia 8!
The Note 8 gets 6478 on multi-core (https://browser.geekbench.com/android-benchmarks) and my Nokia 8 gets 6471! Damn close!

Wow! Considering Nokia 8's are mid-priced phones they are killing it with the specs and performance!
QHD screen and higher performance than phones more than double the price!
HMD Global good job! Now just to unlock the bootloader! ;D
Yes I am loving this phone compared to my previous P9.
My issue is with the fingerprint sensor and location coming from a phone where it was on the back I find N8 very awkward and even too small.
Can't fault the performance.
Day to day use is very good. No lag or terrible performance. Switching between various apps is smooth and responsive. Even with heavy apps like Facebook, Skype calls and Playstore updating in the background, the phone works well without freezing or crashing.
Heavy games loads well and runs smoothly.
For its specs, its a very capable phone.
Will have to see how it holds up after 2 years...

Yes I agree the scanner is rather small but I actually prefer it being on the front of the phone.
As I normally press the home button to wake the device anyway it is just one fluid motion to pull out, and unlock the phone.
It was one of the reasons I steered away from the OnePlus 5T! That and I prefer dedicated hardware buttons for home, back and multi-tasking. Can't stand virtual buttons for this.

I'm in agreement with that. Hate software buttons and scanner on the back.
I prefer the back scanner, it was easier for me to press it with any finger when I picked up the phone.
I redid all of my fingerprints on the N8 and now I have better accuracy on the unlock which means my angle doesn't matter as much - most of the time I am able to use the phone with double tap anyway as I have smart devices / locations linked to it.
Very happy with the phone so far, performance is awesome and battery life excellent.
Consistent performance

To me my M9 was a touch slower than my SD835 S8+. My M10 LCD 6gb is faster than my S8+. Main thing is the K970 is solid and stable. No jerks or hangs so far. Desktop mode is smooth also. A lot better than DEX. Off-screen navigation button is great.
Its fast, but mate 9 pro feels smoother.
Is it me or i feel like the mate 8 with custom Rom was a bit faster and less lag than the mate 10 4gb ram ??

Ofc customrom is better when its a slim one. thats one thing you cant compare dude!
Mate10pro is faster then my mate 8.
So Oreo is not the best version for the mate
Personalmente es mi primer 4GB RAM y 64GB ROM, realmente lo encuentro muy rĂ¡pido en todos los aspectos.
Faaassssttt.... High 212k Antutu
Always go to developer option and adjust all animation to 0.5x, then comment back here.
performance from 6 gb ram is not up to my expectation

Yeah I am having some regrets also, games are not very smooth, also some jerks are visible and very annoying for a high end phone.I am hoping for a future update maybe 8.1 will be much more faster and smooth.
I am coming from iPhone 6s and this is new to me but everybody says that I have to give it some time.Maybe the google pixel is a better choice?
Ok. Here is what i noticed so far. Phone was factory and cache reseted with some trash apps removed. Only added nova launcher, Facebook lite messenger, viber and discord+ few games witch doesnt work in background. Iv been using phone few days. Its BLA-L29 8.0.0.129(C432). Nova launcher working great, system menu and overall ui working great, apps open fast with no choppy animations, stock gallery micro stuttering when scrolling fulscren photos, market lags alot, few games lag, few works great. Rest of system is working great and battery life is great. If you ask me il rather get 1hr off battery life witch is around 8h sot for little more smooth operation in said apps. Tested all with both resolutions and its the same so it must be some wierd throttling or something.
Same here, some parts of UI lagging....maybe updates work things trough
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
I had my mate 10 pro for a month now, lag is very less to nothing, its super snapy, this phone is blazing fast!
i notice frame drops while gaming (only play sonic forces though) other than that it is very fast, no real lag. i realise that sometimes animations seem to lag but it is just the animation, the phone itself and the action i am performing is very fast. (unlike samsung where i experienced not only animations lagging but also the apps/actions i was performing were delayed or i needed to hit an icon twice)
i think huawei needs to come up with a brand new UI.
they have a ton of good features but everything reminds me of older times. also they used to push themself into the markets by copying rivals especially Apple. I think this is what a lot of chinese companies are doing and it is fine but in recent years huawei has become a major player themselves, now they have to prove that they can do it themselves, can do it better
I heard it takes week or two for AI to arrange things and it's true. Phone is lot smoother now tho there are areas where it still lags....like default email client when opening new email. But nothing major any more.
I play only some 2D game(Vikings war of clans) and coming from SD821 phone I'm delighted with performance in it(lots of calculations).
most annoying thing is hill climb 2 stutter. but i have a feeling that crap drops frames on all phones
No faults whatsoever so far
Lineage Revolution works fine on highest details for 20min

Only being able to compare it to the 835s of the Pixel 2 and the S8, this phone has been feeling fast for me. I make all the animations .5x so that helps too. Occasional app crashes but hoping that will get worked out with future updates.

Honesty it doesn't feel much, if any slower than a phone with an SD855. I'm sure it could be noticeable in some games, loading times, etc... But everyday usage it feels the same.
I stated before that the merging time when taking pictures would likely be reduced a bit if using an 855, but with them having to customize the 845 for it, I'd prefer a slower merge on a released phone versus a phone that never comes out because they're always trying to get the newest hardware configured for it.
Compared to my xz3 it seems smoother, opening apps faster
Ran 3dmark Sling Shot Extreme for Open GL 3 and Vulcan. Score 4582/4258. Comparison chart on site vs phone app is different. Also i couldn't upload my score, but that could have been because i turned off google app. Apparently i was the first to test this phone with 3dmark
*Edit: I guess you want to know how it works day to day... Overall better than my windows phone, but in general seems appropriately speedy in accomplishing tasks with little or no delay, based on my expectations of how this phone should respond.
