To me my M9 was a touch slower than my SD835 S8+. My M10 LCD 6gb is faster than my S8+. Main thing is the K970 is solid and stable. No jerks or hangs so far. Desktop mode is smooth also. A lot better than DEX. Off-screen navigation button is great.
Its fast, but mate 9 pro feels smoother.
Is it me or i feel like the mate 8 with custom Rom was a bit faster and less lag than the mate 10 4gb ram ??

Ofc customrom is better when its a slim one. thats one thing you cant compare dude!
Mate10pro is faster then my mate 8.
So Oreo is not the best version for the mate
Personalmente es mi primer 4GB RAM y 64GB ROM, realmente lo encuentro muy rápido en todos los aspectos.
Faaassssttt.... High 212k Antutu
Always go to developer option and adjust all animation to 0.5x, then comment back here.
performance from 6 gb ram is not up to my expectation
Lag in games, I already formatted, updated or rebrand: nothing to do. I'm starting to regret this purchase.

Yeah I am having some regrets also, games are not very smooth, also some jerks are visible and very annoying for a high end phone.I am hoping for a future update maybe 8.1 will be much more faster and smooth.
I am coming from iPhone 6s and this is new to me but everybody says that I have to give it some time.Maybe the google pixel is a better choice?
Ok. Here is what i noticed so far. Phone was factory and cache reseted with some trash apps removed. Only added nova launcher, Facebook lite messenger, viber and discord+ few games witch doesnt work in background. Iv been using phone few days. Its BLA-L29 8.0.0.129(C432). Nova launcher working great, system menu and overall ui working great, apps open fast with no choppy animations, stock gallery micro stuttering when scrolling fulscren photos, market lags alot, few games lag, few works great. Rest of system is working great and battery life is great. If you ask me il rather get 1hr off battery life witch is around 8h sot for little more smooth operation in said apps. Tested all with both resolutions and its the same so it must be some wierd throttling or something.
Same here, some parts of UI lagging....maybe updates work things trough

I had my mate 10 pro for a month now, lag is very less to nothing, its super snapy, this phone is blazing fast!
i notice frame drops while gaming (only play sonic forces though) other than that it is very fast, no real lag. i realise that sometimes animations seem to lag but it is just the animation, the phone itself and the action i am performing is very fast. (unlike samsung where i experienced not only animations lagging but also the apps/actions i was performing were delayed or i needed to hit an icon twice)
i think huawei needs to come up with a brand new UI.
they have a ton of good features but everything reminds me of older times. also they used to push themself into the markets by copying rivals especially Apple. I think this is what a lot of chinese companies are doing and it is fine but in recent years huawei has become a major player themselves, now they have to prove that they can do it themselves, can do it better
I heard it takes week or two for AI to arrange things and it's true. Phone is lot smoother now tho there are areas where it still lags....like default email client when opening new email. But nothing major any more.
I play only some 2D game(Vikings war of clans) and coming from SD821 phone I'm delighted with performance in it(lots of calculations).
most annoying thing is hill climb 2 stutter. but i have a feeling that crap drops frames on all phones
No faults whatsoever so far
Lineage Revolution works fine on highest details for 20min

That's super interesting! I wonder what kind of apps will be able to use it.
Have it for 1 week.... Hope the speed lasts
I'm using it and yeah, it's really fast, but for some reason on YouTube its lagging some times on FHD videos, I'll hard reset it after Oreo if continues
Enviado de meu moto x4 usando Tapatalk
There is a significant speed difference between the 3 GB and 4 GB versions. Go for the larger memory version!

The phone does not lag at all. I just miss the fast response time when opening apps since I have to wait for a few seconds compared to when I was using my Huawei P10 or HTC 10.
No, it isn't bad at all. I'd prefer this than having a highend device with laggy UI.
i was shocked how responsive and fast the phone is for a midrange.
My Moto X4 has been running like trash ever since upgrading to Oreo. Very laggy scrolling and unresponsive to touches. It's sitting at 99% RAM usage all the time. I have serious doubts about 3GB RAM in the long run.

Did you try factory reset?
Even I am using 3gb variant of Moto X4 and I feel performance is much snappier on oreo compared to nougat. I used to face minor slowdowns on nougat, but since it's upgraded to oreo (2 months ago), I have not faced the issue again. My average ram usage is 83% and I face ram management problem only when I open camera, otherwise performance is good.
Factory reset is a good idea, there must be a dirty upgrade going from 7 to 8. I just wish there was a way to get a clean AOSP ROM on this thing. Coming from Nexus line of phones it is very weird for me to be running a stock phone.
Some phones exhibit choppy scrolling, especially when navigating long web pages when multiple apps are running in the background. Rate this thread to express how you smooth scrolling feels on the Huawei Mate 10 under such conditions. A higher rating indicates that scrolling is always buttery smooth, even when you're reading a 10,000 word article on "how to kiss a girl".

Mate 10 pro is a little choppy while scrolling in certain apps and sites.
I hope this gets ironed down in future software releases.
Definitely I didn't have this problem with mi mix 2 that was silky smooth.
Emui feels a bit heavy

Hate it
Note 8 and OnePlus 5 is way, way ,WAY smoother and better user experience
Strange, I haven't witnessed any choppiness at all.
Mate 10 (non-pro) smooth as silk. No lag or choppiness at all.
I experience the same choppiness sadly.
I just got the phone yesterday, I thought the choppiness was because the phone was installing and going through setup but today it still is choppy in places.
I immediately put it back in the box. The UI is a mess too. I learnt my lesson not to use a device other than a pixel or OnePlus
Cant be better. im shocked that people feel chopiness. dont know why. even in real heavy use it was smooth as silk for me.
It was choppy and laggy out of the box. Takes a week or two for AI to arrange things, in 90% of scenarios works as smooth as any Pixel then. Sometimes, in cases of weak signal and max screen brightness....cpu governor throttles Kirin in order to reduce battery consumption, then u can encounter some lag and choppyness described at beginning of this post.
These r my findings after 3 weeks with mate 10 pro.
Since I'm an exclusive Huawei user for 5 years now, ( I used mediapad x1, honor 4c, mate 8, nova plus, and now the mate 10)
Yes, the ui is choppy sometimes, but it never freezes and requires me to reboot the device like how Samsung devices does ( last Samsung device I used before I switch to Huawei was the galaxy note 3).
After using the Huawei mate 10 for 2 weeks now I can say this
DON'T BUY THIS PHONE
for a flagship with a flagship price you'd expect much much better performance, apps takes seconds to open, animations are slow stutters like hell even after setting the animation to 0.5
I never felt I gained any speed bump from my 2 years old mate 8.
In short it's a ****ty deal to buy the Huawei mate 10.
So, I got the android pie update just now, and my oh my, all animation stutters and bugs are gone, the phone is speedy as it should be and as worthy of a flagship, thanks to the added performance mode...
I'll post another comment after I test how's the battery performance

I think that the stock android that comes with the A2 Lite is pretty terrible. I had to root it, then get xposed to work, and just after that I could make things look like I always wanted, but then there is a bigger problem. Overall performance, input lag, and stuff like this is really slow, I uninstalled bloatware, clear cache often, reboot every week, and yet it is slow. The only solution I see is a decently ported custom rom. Which is yet not really available.

Lineage OS?
Haven't noticed anything that bothered me at all. I mostly use it for deving, whatsapp and mail.
I bought the 3GB/32GB version. Coming from the Mi Max 2 that was flying with the same SoC, I am disappointed by the performance. At first, I set it up by restoring the previous apps and settings via the Google backup. It lagged as hell. So I did a clean setup and things are better now but not as I expected coming to a stock Android phone from a MIUI one that is considered to be a "heavy" fork.

The "stock" Android that comes with the A2 Lite is (surprise, surprise) stock, not sure what's terrible about that. There is no bloatware and the only app that can't be removed is a Mi Feedback app which is easy to hide. It's obvious that your performance issues are down to Xposed, not the phone.
Admittedly I'm coming from a much lower end phone (Vodafone Smart Ultra 6) but this thing fly's, how anyone can see lag on it anywhere is beyond me.

It may be with the fact that I had a phone with double the performance, but I really see this phone lag, and I am using it for a month only, while my phone before was 2 years old, and yet lightning fast(with miui)
I haven't noticed ANY problem with the 4/64 model. It is very fast (compared to an iPhone 7 or a Xperia Z3) and smooth. A delight :good:
I really don't see how it could be better (of course I'm not speaking about PUBG or Epic Citadel)...
Coming from an older Moto G4 (2016) running almost stock Nougat this device feels like a rocket in terms of speed and fluidness. The only thing I'm missing is the superb ambient display from Motorola.
The phone feels very stable and fast during daily use. I have the 4gb ram model.
But when I use resource intensive apps like Outlook or and/or I quickly switch between apps I can definitely feel the limits of the SD625.
Overall nothing to complain, incredible phone for €200.
I am actually very surprised by this phone. For 170 dollars? What can you expect? FHD display, notch, 4000mAh battery, alluminium body, good built quality, neat performance + Android one. I can definitely play PUBG on medium settings for 4 hours no problem. 3GB/32GB version. IT`S AN AWESOME PHONE.
Waiting for Android 9.0 <3
4GB/64GB model is much faster than my original Pixel XL by miles, both on Stock Android in day to day tasks and everyday usage. It's as fast as any phone I've used.
is this phone capable for encryption?? I am between this and the mi a2 with the 660 but cannot decide which one is better. I like the 4000 battery and the jack.

Mi A2 Lite uses encryption by default. As for the battery, I'm at 49% battery with 7:46h screen on time. With normal A2 my battery would have been to 0% approximately an hour ago.
ok thanks.

The Mi A2 Lite lags if you install Xposed Framework. I've noticed the difference in performance after installing Xposed. It's because Xposed doesn't fully Support -v8a architecture.
Hello, I'm creating an account in order to give my real-life review of this phone. The previous phones I had were HTC One M8, LG G6.
Please keep in mind that I am a light user.
I do not play games on the device and the most used apps on my phone are
- Messages
- YouTube
- Outlook
- Firefox
- Microsoft Excel
While this device is rocking a 625 SOC, there is no lag at all. This may be thanks to stock Android. I am very confident to say that it is as fast as my LG G6 I had before.
Nothing to complain about.
the phone is very fast
Does anyone have a hands on comparison with Snapdragon 800?
I am looking for a replacement for my Samsung Galaxy S4 but I don't want a slower phone (no games, just daily usage, facebook, whatsapp, tapatalk, opera or firefox, switching between apps)...
Fast enough for daily usage.
I rooted it to use Battery Charge Limit and Greenify
No problem when playing pubg on smooth graphic setting.
I am also very satisfied with the battery backup and stock android experience.

Gonna say overall 3.5/5 to be honest. The thing that drastically lets it down is the lag that I experience when apps are running. I can just launch one single game and I'll already experience some lag. How on earth can my phone be at around 4gb of ram / 6gb of ram when IDLE??
sometimes gestures ( home/recent) can be bit glitchy, but other than that, its flying through everything
it's fast opening apps (probably to look good on YouTube "speed tests" as they used to cheat in benchmarks) but kinda slow in normal use, not really slow but at Note 9 level with a lot of frame dropping, not as smooth as OnePlus 6 (and I assume 6T but I haven't used that)
I think it's like 3/5 for initial speed on start up. After it settles down and used a bit. I assume everything is in memory and quickly accessible with out things running/loading in the background. Then it's 4.5/5. But YYMV.
Needs a little bit of tweaking, but very fast
Went back to the P20 Pro for a few days... The kirin 980 is much faster in everything
awesome speed. love the mate series since mate 9. butter smooth

Only being able to compare it to the 835s of the Pixel 2 and the S8, this phone has been feeling fast for me. I make all the animations .5x so that helps too. Occasional app crashes but hoping that will get worked out with future updates.

Honesty it doesn't feel much, if any slower than a phone with an SD855. I'm sure it could be noticeable in some games, loading times, etc... But everyday usage it feels the same.
I stated before that the merging time when taking pictures would likely be reduced a bit if using an 855, but with them having to customize the 845 for it, I'd prefer a slower merge on a released phone versus a phone that never comes out because they're always trying to get the newest hardware configured for it.
Compared to my xz3 it seems smoother, opening apps faster
Ran 3dmark Sling Shot Extreme for Open GL 3 and Vulcan. Score 4582/4258. Comparison chart on site vs phone app is different. Also i couldn't upload my score, but that could have been because i turned off google app. Apparently i was the first to test this phone with 3dmark
*Edit: I guess you want to know how it works day to day... Overall better than my windows phone, but in general seems appropriately speedy in accomplishing tasks with little or no delay, based on my expectations of how this phone should respond.
