Hello guys!
Do you guys think Custom Roms like Lineage are still better than stock nowadays (Feb 2019)?
I'm really sick of ZenUi and I would like to try another ROM before trowing my phone away so I would love some feedback.
Thanks in advance!

I don't have any issues with the stock ROM, it's got some features (gestures, etc) that are pretty convenient.
I would like Lineage still because I find it a bit snappier than stock on my other devices that I'm able to put it on.
I'm not sure I'd hold my breath for that becoming available though, as far as I'm aware there's no one actively trying to develop it for our phones.

Hi!
It looks like I have managed to get my girlfriend to switch to android after many years of owning an iPhone 4.
She's going to give the LG G2 a go.
Is there are stable ROM that's not going to give her grief and end up with her hating her new phone. She is not tech savvy like us lot on here so it has to be clean, simple and above all stable.
In also thinking that it's probably best to go with a rom based on the original so as to keep all the features and buttons working as normal??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Nat.

when she gets it, root it for her and put twrp 2.6.3.3 on it, not 2.6.3.2. then head to android development thread and get cloudyflex or aeonflex. they both are awesome, both are pretty much stock, both are better than what the g2 comes with and both are bug free. plus i think for a woman she will enjoy the flex ui much better than the stock rom ui. or if you prefer her to have a stock rom then get one that's been tweaked so it runs smoother. if you want her to have the 4.4 kit kat experience then i would go with mokee aosp rom. people have different opinions, these are just mine.
Great, thank you!

Hi, just wondering what's up. I'd kill for CM12 or 13 on my brand new a5 2016.. what gives?
thanks!
We waited more than a year for the A5 2015 edition to get roms, and there are only about 2 serious developers working on it. It is likely that you will get very little to zero support for your phone, even less if you have the Exynos variant. If you want big custom rom support, buy a flagship or a Nexus. That is the best thing you can do. And what I have realised is before you buy a new phone, first search the XDA forums to see which is more popular and which have the most support.

Hey bro, I'm waiting too for any custom rom on my a3 2016, coz i'm getting sick of using laggy and bad looking touchwiz.
Please Devs, do smething for our devices....
I've always used CM or CM-based custom roms on all my phones, but (never thought I would say this) I'm quite liking TouchWiz. Everything works, no bugs. Good stock apps like calendar, camera and email. Theme engine is good enough. Unbelievable battery life.
Just root, install xposed, and you're good.

:good: Absolutely right! And if you don't like TouchWiz you can use other launchers ... - I think the A5 is one of the best phones I ever bought and do not see the need to use a custom rom.

agree. I have used kf rom for several weeks . but now back to the stock rom
You can port CM by yourself. There are a lot of porting guides on the internet, but... there aren't developers because there aren't much people with that device, maybe later there will be some developer with that phone or maybe not. As jnvdh06 said u have to buy a nexus if you want lots of roms, because google release all sources
Hey Guys,
first of all I really love my pixel so far. But the thing i also love is customization. Thats why I am wondering what custom roms we can expect in the near future.
I would love to see a smooth running lineage os, since i was running Cm on my older devices for years. But what would be perfect for me would be a MIUI rom for the pixel.
So here my question: does anyone of you have further information about a comming Lineage os or even MIUI rom?
Thanks in advance folks!

Hi folks,
I want to change my ROM from xXx to another one, because xXx doesn't feel as fast as it used to be. And I wantto try another one. What ROM would you suggest? Which ROMS are considered popular, fast, stable andwith good support and user base? Thanks for helpimg me deciding, I want to narrow it down to 2 - 3 alternative ROMS to xXx mad try them and decide which suits me most.
Notice
please do not hate me for another topic which may seem dumb to you. I have been reading XDA Developers daily since I got my android (I started with HTC HD2, heh). I know there is no correct answer to my question and I believe most of you will reply something like " don't ask, just try" or "it is stupid question" or "go to other forum in this section, because we want to trashtalk you there".
I know that most of the users here on XDA are helpful, and so am I - I try to give advices to others whenever I think hadI experienced and solved any problem that other users might have had. But sadly there is also the loud minority of users that instead of helping others just replies something like "RTFM" (in better case). So, if You are this kind of people, please do not answer.Yes, I googled. Yeas, I read comparisons< just want to hear yout tips etc..
Thanks, folks!
Since owning my OP5, I have tried the following roms:
Freedom OS
then tired
xXx (for many months)
But recently, i'm now on
AquariOS 8.1.0 https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...om-aquarios-8-1-0-live-support-volte-t3768515
For me it’s d.u the most stable rom and aicp just after.
Have you considered that the setup on your phone and not just the ROM could also affect performance? What kernel and settings do you have? What other mods and tweaks do you use?

I would love to use AquariOS also .. But when I tried it I ended getting reboots always when using portable hotspot so that was a deal breaker for me .. Which version you are?
Also Im coming from xXx and now using aosp extended .. rather would use AquariOS
Why not try resurrection remix? I'm using it ever since 7.2 and it's amazing
I was on OOS until a few weeks ago. I tried a few custom ROMs, but crDroid seems to take the cake for me. It's pretty stable, has nice features, it's just great overall. I suggest giving it a try.

I am using blu_spark kernel, but with xXx ROM I am fed up with every other version there is a bug which makes me spent few hours figuring how to even boot the phone :/
Go for codename Phoenix. You can use camera m with all features working. It's also pretty smooth and gets updated often.

Thanks, will try.
I tried AquariOS, but the ROM is not ready for encrypted phones and has battery-related issues, despite being super beautiful and ultra fast. So I came back to xXx, this time to 10.3 version. But I will try other roms, so I can post updates here if anyone is interested.
Yet I must say I hoped for far larger number of people giving their thoughts, when I see how many users downloads and uses custom ROMS, as well as how many discuss threads.
Anyway, thank y'all!
I was on xXx for many months. Today am gonna try the Ressurection Remix (the GSI one) since project Treble is ported to our phone!
Hey guys!
I recently bought the S10+ been wondering why there are only 2 custom Roms available.
Normally you have thousands and more after a few month and you can't even decide which one to take.
Greez, skrippi
It's a fairly new device lol
Ok. I normally had the feeling that on other devices it went much faster. But ok THank you!
Compared to OnePlus devices for instance it is true, development starts as soon OnePlus releases a device ( OP7pro for example).

Just read about how root is achieved on S10, then you will get an idea as to why there are so few custom roms.
S10s one ui has everything so why do you want a rom thats gonna be full of bugsand unstable just buy a oneplus if you want roms

Because the roms do mostly have much more features and give you more control over your phone.
Besides my roms used in past have always had a better battery life than the original firmware.
