In TWRP go to advanced wipe option and select dalvik, system, cache, then swipe to wipe. Now flash the ROM again and it should work fine.

I tried but in vain

Hello...... thank you for quick response but it didn't work. Still facing the same issue. Do I have to root my device i.e. supersu?

It's very unlikely that it didn't fix the issue, the first boot always takes a considerable amount of time so try waiting for a few minutes, if that doesn't work it might be because your data partition was encrypted, if you don't mind loosing the data wipe and format it and try the same steps as before again, if not just flash the January build.

There is no need to wipe the data partition, if the data partition corrupts it would corrupt everything all together.
Anyways can you tell me everything you've flashed in the progress?
With PE you only need to flash the rom itself. (Gapps are already included) and try to shut down the phone after flash (Using shut down option in twrp) and power on with power button
Try to flash PE again but before you do, wipe Data, Dalvik, Cache, and System
Dont worry about losing important data on the /Data/ partition. That is the partition where your.. well, app data is held. (Internal storage is the place of where all your personal data lies such as pictures and videos)

Cannot wipe with TWRP

Hi,
I have G935F, installed TWRP 3.0.0.0 and rooted, WITHOUT wiping. System boots correctly, but I cannot do factory reset or wipe with TWRP, because I got some messages like "Cannot mount Data" and "Failed crypto loader". I understand that it has to do with encryption. Can someone please enlight me, and give me tips about the issue?
Thank you

You have to download dm-verity and force encryption disabler from here , put it to SD card, reboot into TWRP, FORMAT DATA (not wipe) and flash that file (dm-verity and force encryption disabler). All your data will be erased.
No way to unencrypt without loosing you data for the moment(
"All your data will be erased" means that after boot I'll find a clean system installation (as factory reset)?
I hope not to be posing stupid questions, I'm completely new to this world
Thank you very much
Yes just as a factory reset

No, you cannot perform a backup, because your data is encrypted by default and the only way to disable it is to format your data.
I have a unique problem. I have a HTC Desire 612 from Verizon and I decided to revive it to playe PoGo. But it was stuck in a boot loop and I couldn't get any custom ROM.
Finally a gentle soul here gave me the stock rom and I flashed it vide TWRP and played PoGo for weeks. Then yesterday the phone bro led and when it came up it was stuck in a boot loop.
So I decided to flash the stock ROM again. But before that I tried to factory reset. I could go to TWRP, select wipe data, enter yes and the wiping was successful, then clear dalvic and cache and system beforehand finally I flashed the stock ROM.
Surprise surprise is NOTHING happens. The phone boots without the apps telling me they are installing. Then I get back the exact same data in my phone including my selected wallpaper and apps. Before I can do anything the phone restarts.
Point is wiping and restoring the stock ROM does NOTHING to the phone yet the processes are successful. Can somebody help?

Lineage stuck on boot loop on startup

Hi,
I have LineageOS 14.1 installed on my Moto G4 Plus. All of a sudden it rebooted and was stuck on the booting screen. I can get to TWRP. Things I tried that didn't help
wait 30 minutes
plug in phone to charger
clear cache
fully power off then on
If it comes down to it, I could flash a new ROM, but would like to save/backup the text messages/whatsapp messages.
@lightningglasses
Anything you installed/flashed before rebooting ?
try to dirty flash ROM and check if it boots or not.

wiping "Data" deletes everything, dirty flashing does not not.
Just wipe delvik-Art and cache (*not data*), Then install ROM (plus gapps and root if you need), reboot, it will take around 10 minutes to re-generate delvik data, then it should boot..

I forgot to mention in previous post, did you wipe system? Try with that and install rom.
Reinstalling ROM heals damage made to /system partition and to boot, but not to /data.
so if still doesn't boot, that means damage happened to /data and you need to clean it, result in lost of data of apps (whatsapp and message you mentioned in your post.)
Still if you know what apps you installed last, delete it from /data/app/xyz-app (boot TWRP > advance > file manager)

It is still stuck in a boot loop after I
cleared cache, dalvic/art and system
used twrp's file manager to delete all recently installed apps from /data/app
flashed newest lineageos rom
clear davilink again
waited 15 minutes with phone plugged in
When should I wipe cache/dalvik/system? Before or after flashing rom?

There is no other way to get your device back without losing data.
I have never used Titanium backup app but i know there is feature to restore data from TWRP backup, you can take backup of /data and restore backup of whatsapp.
I am still not sure about that feature, if you have time then i can test that feature, otherwise there is no way to keep data.
Edit: whatsapp makes chat backup every night at 2AM, if you haven't had any important chats after that, you can go for wipe.
If you can pay for titanium backup there might just be a way. I am not 100% sure but take a backup of the "data" partition(you can backup everything but data is most important) in twrp in internal storage only. Then clean flash everything. Then install titanium backup and buy the pro key. Then restore from twrp. If you find an option to restore only data then that's a better option. Downloading the app and restoring the data is better than restoring app and data. I'm not sure if it will work. But if nothing is working and your data is 100% vital you may wanna try this.
Another tip, don't restore blindly everything cuz bootloop may occur again

Axon 7 randomly stopped booting

Hi there, I have an Axon 7 with LineageOS that was working like a charm until I rebooted it today. It was in the normal lineage OS boot animation with the blue circle moving from right to left, except it never stopped. Now after trying a few more times, it just keeps playing the animation except the phone will vibrate slightly every several seconds. The phone is encrypted but that hasn't been a problem. When I reboot to TWRP, it says Unable to mount storage.
I tried wiping Cache and Dalvik / ART Cache, but this didn't help. Finally, I do have a backup from 7-20-2017 but I'd rather not have to go back to that...
Any recommendations?

So you can't see the internal storage from TWRP? I'm guessing encryption actually plays a part here. Formatting data is probably the best course of action, though you should flash magisk or superSu if you do, to get rid of encryption. But you obviously lose everything that's on the internal storage.
Maybe make a system and boot backup and clean flash Lineage. Like, wipe system and caches, then flash the bootloader, modem, LOS and whatever else you flash

Is it easier to just use the backup I have currently? If so, what are the steps necessary for that (sorry for newb questions, haven't messed with it in a while)
EDIT: Also, TWRP claims decryption is successful when it is loading up.

Again. Can you see the internal storage?
Don't restore the backup. Your problem is basically either on /system (clean flash of the ROM will do) or on /data (complete format of data is needed). So try the non destructive one first

I don't see any storage folder. So if I want to install the latest LOS and frankly just start from scratch, can I follow the guide here https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/axon7/install#installing-lineageos-from-recovery starting from "Installing LineageOS from recovery"? Will I still need to install something to wipe the encryption?

What? No... That's for normal phones. How did you manage to install LOS without knowing that you need the univ. bootloader and modem?
So, you can't access the internal storage via the file manager on TWRP i'm guessing.
Wipe - Format data, after that flash the Universal bootloader, modem, LOS, Magisk, GApps. Magisk takes care of dm-verity and disables encryption. Don't try to uninstall it though or your internal storage will get encrypted as soon as you do. But if you want to change ROMs you can just fpash it before booting and it won't ger encrypted.

Some contradictions in your post : if you go on "Manage partitions" on reco, it's for formating data, where you have to type YES. This erase as you said all yur data, which is very different to wipe data (no lost of data). Format data is mandatory if clearly announced by the dev because of major update OR if you come from a rom to another different one.
I would say : manually download the zip of the new version of the rom, put in on ext sd card, reboot on reco, flash last firmware (11...), reboot on reco, flash rom, normal wipes (cache & dalvik), reboot system, enjoy.
Let us know if i'm not clear or... if it doesn't help you at all !

Cannot fix encrypted data problem

Hey everybody.
I have a problem on the phone and i have been trying to fix it for about 2 days. But no luck.
I had been using MIUI for about 1 year, then i wanted to flash a custom rom.The recovery is orangefox R11.1.On the recovery i wipe cache, dalvik, data and system and i try to flash Pixel experience 9.Also i tried to flash lineageos 16.But the same problem occurs.Just after the flash i clean dalvik and cache. And just for the first boot it says the data is encrypting.I can not escape from it.When i restart it asks for a pin and as you know there is no pin i added, so i can not put it.Then to decrypt the data i have to wipe data again. Then if i flash theese roms the same problem again.
Also i, just after the flashing, before rebooting the phone, tried to delete some lock files on /data/system folder. But unless i reboot there is not a system folder in data. And if i try to reboot it encrypts the folder again.
Is there any fix for that?I am expecting your ideas or helps.Thank you.
Does the rom boot?
Try formatting (not wiping) the data partition. Obviously you'll lose all the data but I think it's the only way. When you change rom on rn7 you have to format data.

Thank you very much.I fixed the problem and wanted to share it here to help the others who face the same problem.
-First of all i upgraded the latest version of orange fox.
-I formatted data partition completely. Then i wiped Data, Dalvik, Cache, System.
-I flashed Pixel Experience 9 rom.But an important thing is before i flash the rom i enter options > OTA & ROM settings. And ticked "Disable Forced Encryption".
-Then i flashed the rom and on the line it says "disabling forced encryption".And it worked. Now i use the rom without any problem.
