i tried that to be honest with you but they removed the feature that lets you restore
I did the same thing actually, but flashing the newest stock software helped with that issue.

Maybe I'll try the latest of every thing again
Because smart switch has been totally patched
Because I got an older version of smart switch and it gave me the error " your device does not support initialisation"

Use my firmware link for stock rom
https://gsmhungvu.com/samsung-g935fd-firmnware-file-android-oreo-8-0/
Or I'll upload my twrp rom backup if it doesn't work later
Okay I downloaded the new rom flashed it and everything and now the situation has improved slightly , currently it's stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S7 edge " screen any suggestions?

Hey if twrp loads successfully wipe all except sd and flash a custom rom. Custom rom will help to boot and then you make sure oem unlock is enabled. Then just go back to download mode and flash stock rom again. Success

You should be able to flash twrp recovery bro since the frp is off. I got someone's G935F working. Was giving same problems as yours like stuck on splash. It can be recovered. Here are some screenshots of his device...

Manually try to boot into it. It will work just keep trying
Make sure you flash it right
Once you get into recovery, wipe everything
And I've uploaded my twrp backup yesterday
So you'll be able to restore it after advanced wipe all

Hello,
*
I come to you because it has been more than 24 hours that I try to install an AOSP rom in my s4 Galaxy (GT-I9505)
In fact I have a big concern when I flash CF-Root-jflte Self-jfltexx-gti9505.zip (latest site chainefire) with odin everything goes correctly
But once back in android, not Rooted (lack binary ...)
-I tried several version odin (1.85, 3.04, 3.07 and 3.09)
-I tried on several PCs (Windows 7 and Windows 8)
-I tried several USB cables
-I made full wipe
-I flashed the PIT file from the stock rom 4.4.2 (version in my S4)
-I tried to put everything back to zero with a stock rom
*
Without success, my phone does not want to be Root ...
*
So I thought I flashed a Recovery
I tried TWRP, CWM and Philz-recovery and reboot before all began to flash, so do not even touch system
I tried several rom AOSP (11 cm, slimkat ...)
*
Could you please give me a little help here because I dry supplement
I'm bored here, this is my 5th as samsung and this is the first where I can not install CM 11
I do not understand why not traveling on wheels Recovery flash, they do not put error message but reboot alone and without flash
*
Ps: I've tried stock rom pre-Rooted to fasher with odin, it works, I have root but it does not address the concern of recovery
Sorry very bad English, it's google traduction
Are you sure you're using i9505? I have the same device and haven't any issue and the chainfire auto-root works very well for me.

Yes it's a GT-I9505
I flash I9505XXUFNC4_I9505OXXFNC3_I9505XXUFNC4_HOME.tar

Ok, follow these steps. Ignore anyone, if you have already done.
That's what I do and usually gives everything well.
Flash samsung stock rom, after reboot, open Supersu disable Knox, Turn device off, turn the divce on in download mode, flash the custom recovery (Philz or TWRP recommended).
Have you try this?

PDA: XXUFNC9

CSC: OXAFNB8 (8 codes)(NOTE: KIES will NOT recognize this FW due to CSC mismatch..)
Kernel: 3.4.0-481100 (19.03)
KNOX WARRANTY VOID - 0x1!!!
Build Date: 19.03.2014
Changelist: 481100
Original Stock ROM: Download: <<< Sammobile.com >>>
Pre-Rooted ROM (Odex): Downloads: <<< AFH >>>
Latest KNOX Bootloader INCLUDED - Completely IRREVERSIBLE back to 4.3 & 4.2.2!!!
It is Knox free
Edit :
This still does not work with the Knox free.
Tomorrow I back to the store to get a refund, I'm tired.
Why not just flash a stock rooted rom, and go from there. If it's the GPE there is a rooted ROM that fits that phone. That's what I did.

Nevermind I noticed that you have the I9505 and not the I9505G.

Maybe knox is still active on my phone ??
Hi everyone,
I know similar threads have been opened but since I'm new to all these Samsung/Odin matters I figured creating my own would be better than following instructions that weren't given for the exact situation I'm facing. My english may not be perfect but I'll do my best to understand and be understood.
So here's the problem I tried to root my brand new S5 G900F running Lolipop using the cf auto root methods and now it doesn't boot anymore and stays stuck at the Android logo with the 3 lines at the top "Recovery is not seandroid"...
The problem may be due to the fact that I had Kies installed when I did the rooting attempt. Also I tried a several times :
- The first one with CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900 which had the device off and not turning on unless I take the battery off
- The second one with CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltedx-smg900 which had the device stuck at the android logo with the above message about the recovery not being seandroid
- I then uninstalled Kies and tried again both the above flashing files
The DX file seems to be working a little better than the XX one as the device doesn't turn off on it's own
I've understood reading threads that my device is probably not totally bricked yet and flashing a stock rom would probably have it boot again. So here's my question :
Do I really need to flash a stock rom to have it up and running again ? Could a factory reset have my device boot again or could it brick it ?
Any help is more than welcome
Also I noticed afterwards that your device has to have an unlocked bootloader for the CF AUTO ROOT to work. And I must say I have no idea wether mine is locked or not :s
Your bootloader is unlocked
And yes, flash a stock ROM over the top with ODIN from sammobile .com to get it working again
It won't wipe anything by doing that
If you can't root with CF AR, then flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 with ODIN (AP or PDA section, same as the ROM), then SuperSU.zip from TWRP recovery
Ok thank you I'll try when I get home
By the way I've read that, at some point, Cf Auto Root didn't work with the firmware identified by the 3 following lines :
AP : G900FXXU1BNL9
CP ; G900FXXU1BNL9
CSC G900FOXX1BNL3
Is it still true ? Is there any specific firmware I should avoid ? Is there any I should go for ?
I flashed the stock firmware of the previous poste as I thought it was the one I had before the rooting attempt. The device is now booting but a lot of windows pop up all the time saying different processes stopped :
- android.process.acore
- S Planner
- IU syst
- Weather
Should I be flashing another firmware ?
Try booting into recovery and clearing the caches, but if that fails, you're looking at a factory reset
You did flash the same firmware version as was previously running right? Or at least a newer version?
G900FXXU1BOJ1 is the latest BTU (UK) Lollipop, I'd try flashing that
Choose G900F from sammobile, and from the region/country dropdown, choose BTU
I didn't know what firmware version it was running before and I didn't know if there was a way to figure it out so I flashed a firmware that was free from mobile operator. There were only two Lolipop 5.0 firmwares for my country (France) free from mobile operator. I chose one at random
Anyway I cleared cache and the device is now booting (and that is quite a relief I must admit) so thanks a lot !
Now back to the rooting part I've been over the Chain Fire thread of the SM-G900* and read a lot of SM-G900F users have had issues rooting their phone with the Cf Auto Root so I'm considering doing it via TowelRoot instead (I regret I haven't done that in the first place it would've spared the Knox flag)
Ah you're from France, OK, (Update your profile so it shows on your posts )
Can't use Towelroot on Lollipop, only KK ROMs from pre June 2014
If CF AR is not working, flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 with ODIN, and then SuperSU form TWRP recovery
I have sm-g900f rooted with chain fire. Did you extract odin from the file before using? Should be v7 mine working fine.
Wutt?

Err yes Alman I unzipped Odin and ran it from a classic folder.
Thanks *Detection I just figured TowelRoot is indeed only for KK devices. So I'll try some more with CF Auto Root but I'll try to do it right this time. But to do it right a lot a question need answers :
- First there are two CF Auto Root files available for SM-G900F, how do I know which one is the right one for my device and firmware ?
- Second, there's a great deal about drivers. If Odin recognizes my device, can I consider the installed drivers are ok ?
- Third, a lot of people say drivers should be installed without Kies. But without Kies Odin didn't recognize the phone so I re-installed Kies and was able to flash the firmware that revived my device. So should I really uninstall Kies ? Isn't killing the Kies process before flashing enough ?
The answers are probably already out there so I'll be reading threads in the meantime

This is the version I have used for every single LP ROM ever released for the G900F
http://download.chainfire.eu/397/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.zip
If ODIN sees your phone, and shows a COM port when connected, the drivers are working fine
KIES installs the drivers, and you can also get them separately from Samsungs support site - either way works fine
Yes, try uninstalling KIES, but leave the drivers if it gives the option during uninstallation, I've read a few people saying KIES interferes with ODIN
I don't have KIES installed, it's a useless piece of software tbh
ODIN for updates
TWRP for backups
KIES for the recycle bin

Works for KK and LP
Flash the one I know works for my G900F, the one I linked, If it fails, which CF AR does for some G900Fs, then go the TWRP method and SuperSU.zip
(Sigh) It failed again. I got just what I had when I first flashed it. I'll flash your firmware and the KK file tomorrow
Well I flashed your firmware and made another Cf auto root attempt this morning -> fail!
I gotta say I'm surprised, I really thought it would work this time but I guess this isn't a firmware issue. I really have no idea of what's wrong so I guess I'll try to flash another recovery as you suggested.
Some G900Fs just refuse to work with CF AR, something changed in newer hardware revisions, happens to quite a few people here
TWRP & SuperSU generally solves it
Oh ok. Mine is one of these obviously.

I'll try flashing TWRP this weekend. I'll flash your firmware again tonight to check if everything is still fine and get to use my device a little. TWRP doesn't need anything that CF AR did right?
Nah, TWRP is independent of root, root only affects the phone once it is booted into Android
TWRP is recovery
I bought my phone in the US, and unlocked it before coming to Europe.
I was able to root my phone and now I'm running Resurrection Remix (6.0.1) on it with almost no problems.
I'm trying to find out if my bootloader is locked since I would like to do some other things as well (the partition structure is terrible and I would like to change it, and also I would like to install jfltexx modem and bootloader).
I've tried to flash using ODIN but it fails, and Heimdall won't recognize the device (even after driver installation).
If the bootloader isn't locked can I simply dd files to mmcblk0p6 from adb or terminal emulator?
Thx in advance.

You sure you don't have the L720T? It has a Write Protection setting in Settings/Security on the stock ROM that needs to be disabled before using Odin. Also if you flash another modem you will lose your carrier unlock.

OK, but does Odin do something special except copying the files? Popular recoveries that we use are cool but you can also do everything manually if you know a bit of Linux over ADB.
Is it the same here?

Right, but .tar are just archives and then you unpack it and copy the files to the right place. For example aboot.mbn to mmcblk0p6 (and other files accordingly as well)

Flash this repair firmware via odin.this firmware comes with 5 files BL/AP/CP/CSC/PIT.
This is 5.0.1 lollipop firmware BTW but once your device is fully recovered you can take OTA update or flash 6.0.1 afterwards.

Open odin "run as administrator"
upload all files in odin 1 by 1
Connect device and start flash.
After odin show pass go to recovery and do factory reset/wipe cache.
Reboot and wait 5 to 10 minutes.
2nd option is you can flash twrp recovery and flash a custom rom.
Hopefully this will work otherwise your EFS partition could be corrupted.

After flashing stock, go to recovery and wipe data.
After that reboot.
It might work.

Hi folks,
I am trying to flash this firmware onto my s6 edge+
G928FXXS5CRH1_G928FDBT4CRF1_DBT (newest samsung official binary)
but Odin will FAIL right after modem.bin (see screenshot)

I don't know why this happens Please help to find out.
Before I tried to flash the firmware mentioned above, another samsung official was installed:
G928FXXU4CRF4_G928FOXA4CRE1_BTU
Now any attempt to flash former binary will also fail (because older bootloader??)
I'm stuck here Please help!

Which version is currently installed? (you can check it in recovery mode)
Most likely you are not able to install former version because it has an older bootloader.
In my case "S5" ist installed, so I am not able to downgrade to "U4", which was installed before

Use samfirm for your newest firmware and use the region option for your current region. (it should work properly) if you get hidden.img failure, remove from package and repack .tar
Use updato.com to download latest firmware with full speed download.
I'm having the same issue. I wiped everything with TWRP and was going to reinstall the OS, but I'm getting the same fail as you do. I'm trying to flash the same version as I did before wiping everything.
Any ideas?

You just saved me! Thanks a lot! I thought I was stuck on CM 14.1. Just removing hidden.img fixed my flashing issues.
same here always stuck or error on modem.img so after unclick hidden.img use z3x it worked mine is G928GUBS5CRH1
Or you can try with this. Fix the phone is bricked, black screen and more by flash a new ROM for Samsung Galaxy phone. Maybe not the newest firmware, but works perfectly.
