I downloaded the rom, and it's not for qfil. The highest ZUI version for qfil is still 3.5.389

Could that be some kind of OTA update (the ones to rename update.zip and flash on top of version 3.5.389)?

ZUI 4.0.199 BETA for Z2 has been in circulation since Oct-Nov 2018. Most of the available modified ROMs are based on these beta builds.
According to the lenovo forum post the FINAL version of ZUI 4.0.199 was released after optimizations on 2nd Feb 2019.

The post says this version is QPST compatible.
Even on 4pda ZUI 4.0.186 QPST flashable version exists.
I thought QPST and QFIL were basically same, are they different?
If you have it downloaded, could you please share it on GDrive or any other way?

A QPST rom is for using with QFIL
I never used ZUI and do any OTA updates on it, but I downloaded the rom, open the zip file and inside is the normal structure for a regular rom (META-INF, boot.img, system.img files)
I didn't know that there's a QPST version of ZUI 4.0.186 for use with QFIL (downloading rn to check out)
As for the ZUI 4.0.199, sorry I deleted it after finding out it's not qpst version
Edit: the ZUI 4.0.186 qpst I found is an older version patched up with the newest boot.img and system.img files from the newer ota release
The newest official ZUI QPST version I can find is 3.5.386, and it's from an official lenovo cdn server

Hey thanks. So I guess OTA can be used to upgrade to the latest 4.0.199 after flashing the 3.5.386 QPST version.
I am currently on the ZUI 2.5 (Nougat) Indian version, and as far as I understand, to make Oreo and Pie Custom ROMs work properly on my phone I need to upgrade to the latest ZUI to enable the treble support due to the new bootloader and other partitions. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also I have read in other parts of the forum that Chinese ZUI OTA updates don't show up, if you do not use a Chinese VPN and/or setting the location to China. Is that true?

And how can we go back to mm, is there a tool to do it? I have tried to flash mm but I'm not able because system and cust partition are bigger on stock mm firmwares, so once installed nougat we are not able to go back on mm. Basically they have to release a tool witch will automatically repartition system and cut partitions or release a mm firmware with smaller partitions....Oh sorry they didn't respond, I'm curious about they're response, if they will ever replay to you e-mail.

Well, thats whats the NRD90M build is made for, so you would be able to return to MM Its a build that should give the opportunity to have a rollback... However, what I have learned is that you need a specific updatefile to do this... This updatefile, does not exist (?)

Hi mates,
as I got a lot of requests for providing basebands for Z2 (plus) as well I will try adding them here.
-------------------------------
ATTENTION!
If you use encryption then dont flash any baseband as if may corrupt your encryption.
Check your current baseband version first!
Your baseband is 1.70? Great! You are on ZUI China? Happy flashing!
Your baseband is 1.76? Dont flash, you will softbrick your phone. Flash ZUI China version first.
Reason: There is a China version (baseband 1.70) and an Indian version (baseband 1.76). The provided basebands here are China versions only. Cannot be flashed on top of Indian version.
If you have ZUI Indian version installed install ZUI China first.
All flashings are on your own risk. I'm not responsible for any damage.
I don't have a Z2 (plus) so take care.
So to make it clear once and forever:
1.70 is China baseband
1.76 is India baseband
The higher version number does not say anything about it is actual newer.
ZUK decided not to change the baseband version anymore from 1.70 on. So if you want the latest baseband you have to take it out of last released ZUI.
It cannot be seen under phone info. You will always see the same number there no matter which version is installed.
Read the things above. Understand it. Don't ask me anymore to that, I'm tired of explaining always the same.
Use latest twrp official version to flash. Download it at www.twrp.me.
No wipes needed after flashing.
ZUK never changed baseband numbers but changed content anyway. Dont ask for changelog, there is none released by ZUK.

Notes
Offline Charging: If you run a CustomRom based on Android 8.1 that pretends to have offline charging you NEED a baseband of Oreo (ZUI 3.5.xxx) to make it work.
-------------------------------
TroubleShooting:
Problem: After reboot your phone requires your usual pin on lock screen. But even when typing correct pin it will switch back to lock screen.
Solution: Reboot to twrp.
In twrp start file explorer (find it under advanced)
In folder data/system delete all files beginning with "locksetting". Usually one to three files.
Reboot. After reboot no pin is necessary, you need to re-setup again.
Problem: I get no LTE / 4G signal anymore. HELP!
Solution: Thanks to @vickdu31 and @juyer there is the following mini guide:
- VoLTE users: Backup EFS partition with twrp.
- Download 3.5 latest baseband from this post
- flash it with twrp.
- Extract .zip of baseband
- Reboot to fastboot
fastboot -i 0x2b4c flash modem NON-HLOS.bin (this file is from .zip baseband)
fastboot -i 0x2b4c erase modemst1
fastboot -i 0x2b4c erase modemst2
fastboot -i 0x2b4c reboot
LTE working instantly.

Again: 1.70 or even the whole baseband number is not relevant. ZUK changed a lot without changing the baseband version number sadly.
If you dont habe problems you dont need to flash. If you experience radiomodem related problems flashing this may help you
By the way: if you run a custom rom based on 8.1 you need a ZUI 3.5 baseband to activate offline charging

I know there are different other sources. But they are quite fragmented. This thread here shall be an easy source to just download and flash a new radio modem / baseband version.
It would be good to get a flashable 3.5.261 version as well. I needed to start somewhere
For Z2 Pro I released all RadioModems already since long and maintaining the thread always to add newest version.
for Z2 (Plus) I need help to get all versions

Hello guys,
Im using an ZTE Axon 7 with unkocked bootloader, rooted, and using a custom ROM and twrp. I **** to try the original and latest version of the official ROM to see how well the performance are. Is there a package for this that can be installed using TWRP and after it has been installed, my phone is in the original state again?
I saw an update on the ZTE website from 25/07/2018. (Version B35) Is this Android 8?
https://www.zteusa.com/axon-7
Can I install this package by using TWRP aswell?
Flash a zip package in twrp. But flash an twrp image after the rom. The stock rom overwrites the twrp with stock recovery.
Thanks! So, no matter wich bootstock Im using, I can just install the zip from te ZTE website using TWRP and that's it?
EDIT: on the website, there is only A2017U model. No G or A. Does this matter?

It does matter.
Flash this instead so you keep TWRP.

P.S: wrong forum and also answered a million times

That is also an option. But I still prefer the latest version from te website as I hope that this is Android 8 and want to really have it at factory stock again.

The B35 (U-version) is 7.1.1
Try this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-slm-dfnr-t3744388
It's totaly stock or at least derived from the B35 that you want.
Or make your day and try this 8.0.0 : https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/official-beta-android-8-0-0-v2-10b12-t3797085
Beta, U version based but definitely worth a try
Or go back to factory with the @djkuz EDL Tool. The B35 is in the OP. https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/axon-7-edl-tool-flash-backup-restore-t3750759

B35 (from that site) is Nougat, not Oreo.
Oreo was not released officially so you won't find it in the ZTE website.
The current release (B12) is a -buggy- beta and missing some features. It's really not worth it. Battery life is atrocious (probably less than 2hs SoT).
You're better off with B10 (latest for A2017G) or B35 (latest for A2017U).
Those are the latest official firmwares for the phone and both are Nougat 7.1.1. Pay no attention to the numbers, as B10 is identical (update wise) to B35. Flash whatever you like. There's really no other option.
If you prefer the original stock experience with nothing touched or removed/added, you will have to flash a firmware via EDL mode. But that way you lose TWRP unless you replace recovery.img with a compatible TWRP version before flashing with Xiaomi Flash and your device is completely erased.
Forget about Oreo for the moment.
Hi,
i have unlocked my bootloader while i was on POTTER_RETAIL_8.1.0_OPSS28.85-17-6 . I installed twrp and a custom rom and that's fine. Now i want to go back to stock but i apparently can't because the latest firmware i can find on the internet is the OPSS28.85-17-4 and when i try to follow the guides it says i am downgrading the security patches. How can i solve this problem? Do i have to simply wait for the 17-6 firmware to be leaked? :crying:
Edit: I have a xt1687
You can just flash a twrp zip till the firmware is available

You can try Lenovo Motorola Smart Assistant:
https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/downloads/ds101291
It should find the latest security patch for your device and save in on your PC.
You can fastboot flash it than.
Btw, it's not that bad to be on 17.4 because 17.6 is the last official security patch/update that Lenovo will release at all.

Thank you. I used the lenovo motorola smart assistant and i managed to download the latest stock rom for xt1687 which is POTTER_OPSS28.85_17_6_cid50_subsidy_DEFAULT_regulatory_DEFAULT_CFC.xml.
I don't know if i can post the image here but you can do it the same way i did. Plug the phone to your pc with the lenovo desktop app installed, enable usb debugging and go to flash. From there select manually from rescue the device and then go to fastboot. It will show the latest official image present in the phone ( even if you have a custom rom) and simply download it. When it finished don't press rescue and the image will be in
C:\ProgramData\LMSA\Download\RomFiles . If this is a repost of any kind i apologize.

You're welcome and thank you for sharing your experience. You are allowed to share that firmware, just zip it and load it up to one of the known hosters like Dropbox or similar. But you're also right, should be possible for everyone else to do the same that you did.

If anyone wants the stock firmware for xt1687 US version (4/64) OPSS28.85_17_6 this is it. I take no responsibility if this causes you any damage , hope it helps anyone. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pah5x5g1h...y_DEFAULT_regulatory_DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip?dl=0
EDIT ( Just to let you know, i was on PixelExperience with android 9 before doing the procedure).

IMO it's a shame that Lenovo has stopped supporting this phone only after two years! IMO the phone is great for it's price/performance. These short planned obsolescence is ecologically harmful. I am certainly not planning on replacing this phone unless there is another in the price range that is quantum leap better, or until 5G is ubiquitous.
