Swapped in a new battery, faulty battery or - Mate 8 General

I bought a battery off eBay, but I’m either thinking it’s a dud or that it’s fake, my old battery only lasted 2 hours, but now the new battery stays on 100% for like 3 hours, then rapidly drops to like 40-30% then the phone freezes and I have to power reset it, And it shows 0%, than when I charge it will get stuck on like 45% or whatever and suddenly go to 100%
I tried factory reset, downgrade to marshmallow, problem persists, I’m thinking a fake battery, because I replaced my 7 Plus and it’s good, no need to calibrate that

Anybody know a legit place to buy Huawei batteries?

with eBay you really do take your chances. Same goes with memory cards. Personally I wouldn't go anywhere near ebay for either.
With that said, I bought my replacement battery from here... No problems at all. Battery still going strong after 8 months. You do need to calibrate, but it tells you how to do that when the battery arrives.
https://eustore.ifixit.com/en/Parts...Mate-8/Huawei-Mate-8-Replacement-Battery.html
Or in states
https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Parts/Huawei-Mate-8
Ifixit also has great tutorials on how to carry out the replacement procedure. Both on there website and YouTube....

I bought another off another seller, it's all good now, I'm guessing the other was a fake, it weighed like 5 grams less than original. Now I'm getting epic battery life again + marshmallow

Broken Prophet, need help.

A'ight, so i opened my good old' Prophet today.
I am 50% sure that the battery thing thangy on the motherboard (see pic) is broken.

However, it might also be the battery, i have two batteries, one is the one that came with the Prophet and one is a cheap battery i ordered from Dealextreme.
I do know that the cheap battery is dead, but the other one (I did some testing with it, it shows up at 1.4V at my multimeter) i'm not sure if it is dead.
The phone has been like this before:
It randomly worked, randomly turned off, it wouldn't work for like 10 days, then when i put the battery in again it worked.
It kept doing that until it died completely.
Any suggestions?
I can't understand on photo. A battery pin is broken? If the problem is broken pin, a watchseller or jeweler can fix it. They have the right equipment to work with small things

You think they will fix this?
I would try to get a new (third) cheap battery.
Or try to re-animate the cheap one (dangerous, forbidden, but works often for me: open battery casing, unsolder LiIon-Cell, reload with Lab power supply to around 3-3.8 V (never > 4.2V!!!!), resolder, put in Prophete, start charging....)
The pins look ok. 1.4V for LiIon is below the deadly shutdown value!

OK, maybe my answer is a bit late...

galaxy s5 rare charging problem

hey guys,
i have the wiredest problem.
i've phurched a new galaxy s5 and when i connect it to the charger, a charging icon appears but the battery % dosent go up, only down.
i've downloaded many battery analysing app and theey all seem to think that everything is fine, that the current flows and all, but the % dosent go up!
i switched a battery and a cable and its definitly a phone problem (i can charge the battery in another phone)
some suggested that i sould replace the charging port but it looks completly new and fine, and also cost quite a lot of money to replace.
is there any other soultion?
thanks!!
Sorry I encountered the same problem on my old s3. I finnaly solved the probleme by changing the micro hdmi port. Sorry I know you won't here this but i search everything. I replace myself it's not so hard. I do it because my s3 was in ending life.
It does sound like the charger port.....
The replacement parts aren't that expensive (under £10 off eBay).
Just make sure you get the right one....
Look at the pictures......

These parts are device variant specific......
It would probably be a good idea to match 'rev' versions too.....that was certainly the case with the S2....If the wrong rev version board was put in, it led to signal problems etc......

S7 Edge different batteries?

I got hold of 2 batteries for my S7 Edge because the original one got swollen due to a bad charger.
I see different writings on them and I was wondering if it's only the writings that are different or something else also.
What do you think? They will arrive tomorrow.
The ones I bought:

The swollen one:
Yep thats right. To play it safe, sammy switched batteries. and liquidated what they had in stock, which is all the batteries you see on ebay and alibaba being sold.
Now, which one would be the newer?

Very likely that Samsung took precautions after the Note 7 story and revisioned their batteries. It's not apparent which one of the batteries is the newer one. At least for me. You might be able to compare it to a S7(E) which hasn't got its battery replaced.
I don't know which is the newer battery, but one of them was made by Samsung SDI and the other by Chinese company ATL.
In the case of Note 7 most of the spontaneously combusting batteries were supplied by SDI, while the Chinese market Note 7 used batteries supplied by ATL that were deemed as safe, but when Samsung switched from SDI to ATL batteries for replacement Note 7 devices, some of them started to spontaneously combust as well. (http://tech.firstpost.com/news-anal...ly-to-blame-for-this-whole-fiasco-340300.html)
Of course what happened with the Note 7 doesn't affect the S7 Edge, but no matter which battery you install make sure to use an official charger from now on.

I found a replacement battery on eBay for under $20 but it ships from China

I replaced my battery, it's not hard but you need a heat gun to remove the screen. Then use double sided 3m tape to put it back on

Could you please tell if the battery is original and/or if it performs as well as a 4000 mAh battery should perform? And lastly please share the link yiu bought from. Thanks.
Works about as well as regular battery. Atleast phone doesn't shut down with 30% remaining.

LG V20 10 to 12 Day Battery Life w/ Extended Battery

This is the reason I buy V20s.
Nobody realizes the value of an extendable battery..
I don't want a battery bank,
I don't want the latest processor,
I don't want a picture perfect camera
I want a good phone w/ all the normal smart phone things you'd ever need
But most importantly - I want it to be available when I need it.
I need to use GPS for 12 hrs straight w/ the brightness on 100% and still have enough battery for a few more days?
No problem.
I need to look something up at a random time & location OH NO is my phone charged!?
No problem, its always charged.
My phones battery is at 15% and I wont be home for a few hours, I'm getting a low battery warning!
No problem, you still have an entire day of battery before you actually need to charge it.
These screenshots of 10 Day Battery life and estimated 12 Days is using a 3 year old extended battery...
Why is there no more extended battery phones available?
Why does nobody make an extended battery for say the Samsung Xcover Pro?
Makes no sense imo its the only feature I care about now.
Almost modern phones are more than good enough and continue to focus on features that make next to no difference from last years phone..

I was discussing battery mods.
LOL
**** you mod you're a piece of ****
Deleted the wrong one dumbass,
