Hey guys random question. There is an S5 G900F on ebay uk for sale with a blocked imei for o2 uk. I believe that that model is international and can take any sim as ive got one myself. I was thinking of buying it for my sister for christmas, If i did that is it possible to have a new imei on it so she can put here o2 sim in and have the phone running and making calls as normal? any software or whatever. I see alot of options online but. Would like some info if anyone has any. Thanks alot.

I figured it was illegal after reading some posts and looking at the item on ebay more. Thanks alot for the reply. Cheers
You can get prison for that. It's illegal for a reason, otherwise every thief who nicks a phone would just go to a phone shop somewhere and get a new IMEI.
Hi guys
I was a really happy S4 user before I let it fall in the ground before my S4 died I backed up everything also EFS.
Anyway I bought a new Note 3 from a other country and the problem is the dealer told me that he changed the motherboard or removed the IMEI for some reason well I don't know exactly what he did with it and here I question is it possible to use the EFS of mine S4 to the note 3?
PS I still have the S4 and both of the phones are legal bought and I also don't know if I'm at the right topic
No you can't transfer from a completely different device and this is still illegal
Don't know why you'd want to change your imei when you have a working phone???
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Free mobile app

All transfers or change the IMEI is strictly illegal
you have an other problem with your IMEI (lost or other) return your device to SAV

Hi Guys,
my Problem is that i buyed my father a new phone. he lives in turkey and if you want to use a phone longer than 1 month in turkey you must register it. otherwise they block your imei and you cant use the phone. so i want to change the imei from the new phone to the old one what is registered, otherwise my father must pay about 150€, and thats not okay. i bought the phone in media markt germany and i got the receipt. i think its not okay that you have to pay that money to the state, if you buy a new phone.. thats crazy and much money for nothing. the older phone is a galaxy s2 what has a registered IMEI and i want to change the IMEI of the new phone to the older ones, that he doesnt have to pay for the new phone. so my question, can i do a EFS backup of the galaxy s2 and restore it on a galaxy s5, is it possible? or is there another way to change the IMEI of the phone? in my opinion its not illegal in that way, cause i got the receipt and the original boxes of those phones. i am from germany so excuse me for my school english, i hope you know what i mean.
thanks in advance
In a word.......no
The IMEI is a number that is unique to every cellphone. In many countries, altering this number is against the law. If anybody here on XDA gives you information on how to do it, they'll be breaking XDA rules too.......
Sorry fella....no help on this site.....

hello all , just got a used Note 4 , but i noticed that it doesn't want to be registered on any network , i checked imei and it was a number that begins with 3 , checked it on imei checker and found it's a waaay different phone , so i turned phone off , looked under battery , and whoa !! a different imei that begins with 3 as well .. im sure that this thing is the reason of no networks getting changed , but i don't know anything about fixing it .. what should i do?
note4 is known for issue with emmc so most likely in your case the motherboard has been replaced thus difference in imei. regarding not registering to any network, in some countries stolen phones are banned from network based on imei. do in worst case u have refurbished phone repaired using parts from stolen unit.

Hello Guys,
Yesterday I tried to repair imei but no luck. My Phone is with unlocked bootloader. I wonder Is it possible to repair IMEI on Redmi Note 7 ?

What are you even talking about. What repair? IMEI is just a number, it cant be repaired. You just have it. If you dont, that means you played with EFS partition, if you dont have efs backup, no, it cant be fixed. Also, trying to change imei is considered a CRIME.

I just got my phone from china and it came with unsealed and one of the IMEI numbers not showing. I am not talking about changing IMEI! It's repairing. As you know there is a big difference between CHANGE and REPAIR!

How is it not showing? Insert 2 sim cards, does both of them work? If they do, everything is working as it should.

read post#3, phone received unsealed with IMEI missing. so the store that sold the phone should replaced it under warranty.

None of unregistered IMEI phones can not be used in turkey. therefore imei repair is very necessary. For the use of phones brought from abroad have to pay 115 usd imei registration fee to the state. If 115 USD is unpaid, all phones are not used garbage. network does not see.
