I know the Redmi Note 7 has a good camera for its price point, but I was curious what people were using who prefer the popular gcam ports (hopefully one with the latest features like night sight) and which settings they have been using

I'm sorry if it's irrelevant but... Does this phone comes with a manual mode with shutter speed, focus and ISO control?
And if so; can you tell me about the ISO and shutter speed range?
Thanks.

And I thought my Lumia's 5s shutter was epic...
32s shutter speed is just... Insane! Should be able to take some decent night portraits; especially of stars and fireworks.
Time to buy a tripod!
Although I do wish it had an upper range of 1/2000, just like my Lumia.

Yeah, use slow-mo of stock camera app. BTW Gcam for picture, Stock for video.
How about Open Camera for video?
Can you go full manual with Open Camera (ISO, shutter speed, fps, bitrate, flat picture profile - i mean does it actually work and output footage has your changes settings)?

Hi everyone.
Thanks to an user from Android forums find out that this particular app works nicely with our LG Stylo , i have notice pictures are better than the Native cam app installed on this device.
You can download the LOLLIPOP ..APK from this Thread and thank you @xdabbeb for this amazing camera software.

Thanks you for posting this. I love the phone, but I really hate the camera. This app makes the pictures come out so much more clear.
Edit:
I just noticed the front camera only goes to 2m. I thought It was supposed to be a 5m camera?

LoL sorry ihad the front camera instead and 1080p 60fps which is slow-motion isn't available LoL, yeah i just did a recorded test using 1080p 60fps (Slow-Motion) and records pretty well, i really don't recommend record video using 60fps unless you are playing to playback at slower rate (24fps or 30fps) for a slow motion effect.

Big up to this amazing guy that work hard for the android comunity.
Currently i'm running the HTC 10 port on mokee rom, photo quality it's defenitly better than Snap Camera!!
To all the google addicts, google camera can work on our device you need only an older apk.

this one runs without problems on all roms, the newers are all giving problems.
I hope u find this helpfull
Someone Can share some feedback?

In MIUI installing FV-5 there's not even manual focus, instead on MIUI camera app there's manual focus and focus peaking too.

After Leaving MIUI 8 and choosing CM13 on my mi4i , i just felt miui camera app is awesome. A d after 2 weeks trying every 3rd party camera app, luckily i found a good alternative to this, and that is OPPO camera mod, you can find oppo camera app searching in threads. Actually, Oppo camera app have more features than miui camera app, like HDR, HD pic (more sturations for cropping), slow shutter (lightning painting), Gif, doubke exposure etc etc... I posted here one simple example of the difference in night light: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74176704&postcount=34
In daylight Google camera is marginally better, and very consistent in good shots, the stock camera can sometimes loose focus.
I haven't yet had chance to compare videos, but I think the google camera will also give betters results, as the stock camera has issues in focusing in low light.

tempted to root to install the GCam HDR+ but hesitant to do the tedious work in unlocking bootloader - fastboot - rooting
having the new phone for daily use is awesome, the only downside is the quality of low light pictures.. it's awful :fingers-crossed: my late mi4i takes low light with much better results..
oooh I guess that's why google pixle costs so much more
I recommend to root it. The picture quality is now stunning! Once unlocked and rooted, it is easy to relock and unroot since you know the steps

This because I am getting good photos with Stock camera in low light; I cannot still compare with Google Camera because my device is not rooted (I will root, maybe, after Oreo update).

The real question for me is whether GCAM is better than the stock cam or not?
Maybe it is because my experience with GCAM has been on exynos samsung phones but my experience is that in the end it has not been worth the hassle.

It depends on the quality of your photo system and only you can determine this in the first place, and then take into account the positive and negative datas from other members or feedback from specialists.

The hard part with gcam is to tune it correctly. If you are able to do it, you can adjust it like you want to get the "best" pictures. From what I have seen the nothing camera software is really bad. The camera sensors of this phone arent bad at all to get nice pics. It's not high-end but still definitely more then good enough for the most people. I hope they'll improve the stock camera in future.
AGC or MGC? Any opinions?
I'm using MGC_8.5.300_A10_V6 and everything works well except video stabilisation. Maybe someone have working config or build for it ?

As already answered the packages name is different only. Some phones need that to have working aux camera. Shouldn't matter which one you use for the nothing phone.

I don't think that's possible. Not 100% correct answer because i don't have this phone.

You can, install gcam and double click the side button. It will pop up 2 cameras and just pick gcam, choose Always
Have been using the MGC 8.4.600 V13 version for a few days now and my initial view is that the results are definately better.
I am pleased as previously I have had nothing bad a bad experience using gcam (mostly Samsung exynos)
