Hello guys,
I wanted to flash recovery, but i can't (as you can see in the picture).
I have unlocked bootloader (i used this method:https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-twrp-root-t3405701).
I tried with other twrps, like elite twrp, twrp, and from the quide that i mentiond, that twrp too.
When i enter recovery:
What should i do?

Hello,
if i'm correct you are still on android 6.x/emui 4.x.
You used SRKTool so why haven't used that tool to flash recovery too ?
It's included in the tool.
You need 3.0.2-0 for your android version.
If you want to flash it with fastboot, when finished
disconnect from pc and manually reboot recovery holding vol+ and power buttons.
Cheers

Aah ok android 7, so the TWRP 3.1.1-1 is fine ...
Maybe you should have tried with

Anyway you've solved then is ok ...

Android 6 > TWRP 3.0.2-0
Android 7 > TWRP 3.1.1-1
Ensure you have drivers installed in your pc.
Ensure you have OEM unlock and DEBUG USB enabled in developer option.
With fastboot: >>> fastboot flash recovery (name of recovery).img (ensure you put the recovery inside the fastboot folder)
>>> fastboot reboot recovery or shoutdown and reboot holding vol+ and power buttons (until it boots in TWRP).
Done.
Cheers
Thanks. I managed to get it working more przez less. Now i have two recoveries . One accessible while holding vol+ during power up and stock recovery when i press vol+ for 3s on "your device is unlocked and therefore it should not be trusted" screen.

@workdowg now that we have a permanent recovery does this mean we can start building cm and kernels? I am almost setup with my machine (just configuring Ubuntu). From what I have read on lenovo website is they messed something up with the charging and battery life in the last update

Since the bootloader is unlocked you may do what you wish. Permanent TWRP will make the job easier. Have at it!
As far as the current ROM from Lenovo.... It is really stable for me. I froze the usual suspects and I get about 3-4 days with 8-9hrs SOT. I don't game on this tablet and keep the brightness down to about 1/3.

it works in the 'live' mode? from dnx (PwrOn with both Vol pressed, screen shows 'fastboot starting...' message):
fastboot flash osloader bootx64.efi
fastboot boot twrp-1050f-b.img
you should also try to boot in the recovery right AFTER you flash it and if it goes twrp means that recovery from boot is still active on your build (and will write the recovery partition with a fresh image that he builds from the boot partition on each normal android start)
what is the OTA you're on?

while i don't know 100% whether it is working or not on your model and since those who download the files don't give their feedback...
try rebooting in recovery, when in normal android, send a adb reboot recovery or boot in fastboot mode and chose the RECOVERY as target with Volkeys and activate with Power button
check also that you flashed the correct img file (you did unzipped the file before flashing no? ) fastboot flash recovery twrp....img

I tried all the ways including 'adb reboot recovery and also tried to enter recovery through droidboot but each time it simply rebooted without going into recovery.... I also tried the temp recovery, by these commands "fastboot flash osloader bootx64.efi" & "fastboot boot twrp-830f-b.img" in this case also it simply rebooted in to android os.
P. S. I am able to enter twrp recovery through social design recovery.
any 830 owner can confirm if it is working or not on his device?

Did you try to boot into it via adb?
Enable Developer Options by tapping the Build number a couple times then enable USB debugging and Tick OEM Unlock.
Use ADB via command
adb reboot recovery
and it should bring you to TWRP or what ever recovery it's on.

I installed TWRP into recovery2 because eRecovery never worked for me. Since you are on a beta version, you might try booting into eRecovery first and trying to see if that brings you back to 4.1, if it doesn't work then install TWRP to recovery2. I have found it easier to boot into because you can just use the volume up from the unlocked bootloader warning screen to launch TWRP.

in Emui 5.0, install this twrp(thanks greatslon) https://goo.gl/ATklu5
if it doesnot boots into recovery by regular vol+,- and power, try again with usb cable connected to computer.
You can also install Magisk and root with phh's systemless root.
Even though i am not sure if you can revert to emui 4.0 from here, because userdata is encrypted, and somehow i was not able to decrypt it or even mount it in twrp.
BTW i had beta emui 5.0 long back, as i applied for beta and got directly as upgrade push. Have been through all of this for my device. Stuck with 5.0 but rooted and having magisk modules working.

1. Booloader unlocking only affects to what you can flash in fastboot, it doesn't affect stock recovery funtionality.
I asked about factory reset option, because I wanted to make sure you aren't booting to "recovery2/eRecovery". (It doesn't have factory reset option)
2. Avoid using kingoroot and other oneclick root apps if it is possible.
3. Your firmware version doesn't matter.
4. Bootloader unlocking can't cause crash. Locked bootloader could cause crash if system is modified(I think), but you would still be able to get recovery.
One way to make sure you boot to normal recovery is to connect your phone to pc --> open command line --> type "adb reboot recovery". This won't take you to erecovery
I can't do any better help with the current information.
After you successfully flash the recovery with fastboot (always use the latest!) You need to do these things in order (and fast) in order to but to TWRP. If you don't it will boot to stock recovery and you have to fastboot flash again.
You must
a) write fastboot reboot in the console but don't pass Enter!!
b) hold VOLUME UP
c) (still holding VOL UP) presss Enter and remove the USB cable immediately once it says your device is booting now.
Keep holding VOL UP until you boot to TWRP. Allow modifications.
For root you will flash Magisk (you know, normal zip), which a) is open source, so no sneaky stuff and b) can hide root from apps as a bonus. You can always get the zip here: http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk
Important: If you have other root solutions install them for example SuperSU has an uninstall option. Then flash Magisk

The recovery you go from fastboot is eRecovery. You can't boot to stock or TWRP recovery directly from fastboot. If you choose shutdown from eRecovery then you can just go to TWRP with normal way (power + VOL UP). Going to eRecovery doesn't undo TWRP installation. (This also means you can do force update even with TWRP installed, I think, not 100% sure)

After successfully flashing image, write 'fastboot oem reboot-recovery'. Your device will boot into a black screen, now double press the power button, swipe to unlock. You will have to flash magisk zip(use adb sideload or flash from sd card) to prevent system from replacing TWRP.
Remember that you'll have to format your device once to be able to access internal storage so that you can restore backups

Hello, I’m not sure I fully understand your question, mostly what you mean by "without flashing".
TWRP is basically an advanced recovery for a phone that can act as a replacement of the Stock recovery. So if you want to use TWRP, you have to install it over Stock recovery. In fastboot mode run command
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk (name-of-TWRP-file).img
Once it’s completed, type the command
fastboot reboot
and unplug your phone.

Once Magisk is flashed, reboot the device.
Once device boots up, install Magisk Manager.

You can install the latest Magisk without problems. I am running open kirin's latest LOS 16 and I prefer it to Huawei's stock EMUI 8
