Hello,
Am I the only one who experiences very low and distant in-call volume? It's driving me nuts, because it's impossible to speak with people over the phone. I'm on 9.0.11, rooted. I tried the MSM tool to wipe my phone and start from scratch, but the issue persists. Also, if I connect it to a BT receiver, e.g. car audio, and make a call, I can hear loud and clear. It's the phone's speaker that's causing issues. Does anyone know how to fix it or should I go for RMA?
Does other media / ringtones play through the speaker at reasonable volume? If not then probably a bad speaker. If other media plays loud just calls sound quiet it seems like a configuration issue; not sure why it would be persistent past MSM reset.

is there any way to change this? i use my headset to listen to tunes while @ work and the gym, and the whole idea is to eliminate noise coming from the phone (and my desk!)
however, to listen to music you need to turn the sound on - but when you do, and you receive an incoming call, the ringer sound comes right from the phones speakerphone externally. when i get texts it stays within my ears (im pretty sure)
i know you could drop the phone call volume to 0 but what would that do? would you not hear it at all then, even in the headset? would the music even stop playing to signify an incoming call or would it keep playing since theres no need to output any other sound (the ringer)
anyone have a fix or an idea?
same issue in htc athena advantage x7501
real pain in the neck, since it doesn't vibrate.
and with the bluetooth, you solve that problem, but you still can't have any system sounds through the bluetooth headset.
this really wasn't well thought through.
any ideas?
a patch soon?
help?
I swapped from a Nexus 5 to the 6P, and I'm finding bluetooth volume to be incredibly low. I basically can't hear my audiobooks in the car with it being as low as it is. This is a serious problem for me. I have the volume maxed and it's like a whisper.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a way to boost the volume? My bootloader is unlocked, but I am not rooted yet.
I have had the same issue. Car was fine, but my sound bar was SUPER quiet. I had to delete the sound bar and re-pair and it was fine.
I have also had issues where the sound coming out of the phone was super quiet, I had to reboot to get that to resolve.
I think something is wrong with the bluetooth on my phone. I am contacting Google.
Does anyone else have an issue with the audio cutting out when the volume is up high when using headphones? For example, during a phone call, if things get loud, the audio will start popping.
Something's telling me that I may have to RMA, but other than that, I have no other issues. Screen is perfect and I don't want to lose that.
I have the same issue

I have the same issue, I purchased my Nexus 6P yesterday and this exact issues is being experienced. I can only have the audio up 3/4 before the earbuds headphpnes start to pop and cut out. I have tested this on myltiple earbuds headphones and the same issue occurs every time. Any one have any ideas before I take it back under warranty.
Has anyone else experience issues with call volume? People on the other end can hear me just fine but on my end, with the volume at max it is horribly muffled and low and when switching to speaker I get the same issue.
After the phone call however I can playback a youtube video or song or even listen to my voicemail with no issues with volume.
Anyone else? Ideas?
I am using my Op5 with Magisk and some packages
Hey guys! As I've updated my phone to Oreo (Jan) as soon as I got it, I don't know if this was an issue with Nougat, too, but the thing is that I'm getting distortion during calls. I would go for a faulty speaker, but sometimes sound is perfect, sometimes distorted, receiver test gives me perfectly clear sound, and sometimes only signal that it's ringing on the "other side" is distorted, but as soon as the other person answers voice is clear. This doesn't happen on loudspeaker or 3.5mm jack, though.
Any ideas what's the issue here?
