Usage Verizon 4Glte availability in 3g areas. - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

I'm not sure so asking for a friend. He has a Verizon Pixel XL, works well, wants a One Plus 6T.
He wants to know what happens when you have a One Plus 6T, on the Verizon network with “CDMA-less device” engaged in his house, when his house only gets a 3g signal?
My response was that his speeds would only transmit at 3g, but would like to hear from real persons using Verizon with 6T.

If he only gets 3G on his other phone, them he will most likely have no service at all with the OnePlus 6T at his house. Try having your friend put his phone in LTE only mode on his other phone to see if he gets a signal at all. By the end of the year Verizon is shutting down their 3G network anyways. I used to put my phone on airplane mode and have the wifi on, so I could use wifi calling in areas I didn't have service but had wifi

If he only gets 3g then tell him not to buy it. There is no wifi-calling on Verizon with the 6t so he will have no signal at all. I bought the phone and loved it, except I never had a signal at home or work so o returned it. With only a 3g signal you cant even get a text.

I have the following problem.
Hi I have a plan with extra fast with endless online. But every now and then suddenly falls away and my connection voice and 2G/3G can I just restore it in airplane mode to turn back and pick up.
Are there more people with same problem? I have an G1. The SIM card only 8 weeks old.
I like to hear from you.
I think most T-Mo customers suffer from that, you see they have very small 3G coverage and Edge is super slow on tmobile. You must've had a faster carrier like veri$on,$print,At$T,O2, etc before. Well i had sprint before and they had some great speed and i always had Evdo, but now i only get this damn edge connection.

Project Fi at home where Tmobile and sprint signals are weak.

i am considering project Fi.
But where i live there is not tmobile signal, my friends come here with tmobile homes and they dont get signal(they live half a mile away).
Sprint coverage map says that there is "fair" signal.
so i was wondering if with project FI i dont have signal at home, the nexus 6p will switch to my wifi network and i will be able to receive and make calls?

I activated my Project Fi sim earlier in the week. T-Mobile is not strong around my house (I had to switch to an AT&T sim when I was with StraightTalk) and I'm not sure about Sprint. So far, while I'm at home, the majority of my calls are using my home wifi. I haven't had the chance to test a continuous call as I'm driving home to see if it switches to wifi, as Google indicates it will.

Yes, Project Fi uses WiFi for calls and texts when you are on WiFi.
Honestly tmobile wifi calling isn't even that great also. I am only able to get edge in my house with them and wifi calling enabled. I tried calling my phone 15 times and 2-3 times it didn't go through (it actually RINGS but my phone doesn't ring or indicate someone called, and the phone I'm using it rings and goes to voicemail) Wifi calling is at it's infancy I feel like.
I had a tmobile lte booster installed in my room for a year and it BARELY made a difference, still got 0.3-0.5 mbps speeds on their "lte"
Fast forward to last month they finally came out with a lte booster that ACTUALLY works, the previous one came was trash.
If I were you, I'd get tmobile and get the NEW lte booster, because the old one gave me 0.5 to 1mbps at it's best and the new one gives me around 7-10mbps on speedtest. Sprint has horrible signal, I would think their "Fair" signal means horrible reception.
Or just go AT&T and verizon, you get what you pay for..... they are much MUCH reliable than tmobile and sprint.

Note that T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling has nothing in common with Project Fi Wi-Fi calling, which works perfectly.
I seem to only have had one wifi call at my house with Project Fi that I've actually noticed / remembered. I have no idea why all of them don't come in / go out that way. I have a good cell signal too. But, my wifi is strong on 5 Ghz and my bandwidth is about 88 mbps down / 12 up. I only noticed that one time I got an incoming call that said something to the effect of "using wifi network name." I've confirmed the settings in the phone app are set to use wifi calling too.
WiFi calling works perfect at the house. Have very limited cell signal with every provider, so I put on Airplane mode + WiFi and zero issues?

Yeah I was just mentioning how bad tmobile is in some areas. But if you have their new lte booster, it works great. The older version barely made a difference. Came from 0.5mbps to 7-10mbps consistently
I mentioned it also cause they told me to try their wifi calling last year and it was jist decent, I still missed calls without knowing people actually called

Mate 8 Internet Issue with T-Mobile

I am really sorry for post duplicated, but I have only 5 days to return this phone which I absolutely love.
However this Internet issue is really bothering me.
I just bought my Mate 8 with build number NXT-L29C636B103, but I have been experiencing mobile data issues with my T-mobile carrier that only when I get 4G symbol, I can go online. Whenever I am getting either 3G or H+, I can not connect to internet at all.
I have tried my wife's T-mobile phone, at the same location, her phone will get 4G LTE, my phone will have 4G, whenever she is getting 4G, I am getting H+ or 3G, which I can not go online anymore but on her phone, it still works.
Is is because of the version of the Mate 8 I am getting or the setting is wrong, please help!!!!
Probably wrong settings. Check your apn. And also make sure your phone isn't set up to just LTE only in the phones hidden menu
Update the software also and then check access point settings and set manually.
I check the updater, but there is no new update at all.
About the APN, I have copied exactly the same setting as my wife's S6, but still this issue.
Basically, whenever I am getting 4G above the bar, I can go online, no problem at all. But whenever it comes 3G or H+, my internet completely dropped!
I don't have that problem on T-Mobile with the NXT-AL10. I can be on one bar of HSPA and go online. There are two things possible. You have a bad phone with a bad radio or T-Mobile is doing work in your area and that's why you have no internet on anything other than 4G. T-Mobile was like that in my area two years ago until they upgraded. I would think it's the service. Try turning off VOLTE and LTE Cat 6 CA and turn on Data Roaming and see if that fixes it.

I was actually trying to help out on this issue, on another forum as well. One thing we discovered is that the settings for LTE Cat 6 CA are not on the L29 model.
Dumb question but you aren't using a metal case are you? Any aluminum case will degrade wifi and LTE to the point where it might switch over to HSPA+ due to poor LTE reception.

I have the L29 model. On T-Mobile, I was getting 3 mbps down and 1.6 mbps up. So I tweaked it around and enabled Data Roaming. Now I am getting 15 down and 9 up. Much more reasonable.
Recently had a similar issue. I copied over the apn from a tmobile device and that was the issue.
Try the 2 apn setup that should be default when you reset apn.

I have T-Mobile and it works fast but do yours say "4G" instead of LTE too?

Any updates on this issue? I'm still getting extremely slow mobile data speeds.

[Q] What is needed for voice over WiFi (WiFi calling) on Verizon?

Hey all so I just got the 6t and I use Verizon and noticed that there is no option for WiFi calling. I guess after searching around Verizon needs to enable it? But I'm just confused as to what needs to be done to allow users to use it.
It's a big deal for me because the reception in my house is bad. I have thick walls (wooden log cabin). On past phones my phone's would drop lte to 3g then back a lot and only way around this was to use wifi calling.
To hold me over I just dumped 200 bucks on a lte externder from Verizon (femto cell) but I thought I would ask what needs to happen for Verizon users to get wifi calling and if it would ever come down the road
I would love to know the same info for AT&T
I tried all the modules and tricks to get it working and never could. I had all settings enabled in the hidden menus and by all appearances it should have worked but it never did. I ended up returning the phone because I don't have a good LTE signal at work or my house. Loved the phone otherwise but not getting texts and phone calls was a no go.

Pixel 4 XL insists on roaming regardless of settings

I'm on Sprint, and while at work and one path home for some reason my phone refuses to stop roaming. Setting it to home only vs. automatic does nothing. Disabling and rebooting does nothing. Do I seriously need root just to do this? I'll stand next to a window outside where there is very much plenty of LTE coverage from Sprint and I'll reboot and cycle airplane mode two or three freaking times before the stupid thing stops roaming. The most frustrating thing is when it does actually work, it has the best LTE reception I've ever seen. If it would just...freaking connect to the right one...
I have a Pixel XL and my wife has a Pixel, both on Sprint's network. They will refuse to connect to 4G or LTE signal. Will be in the most populated area of Portland Oregon and be stuck on 3G or slower. There are times where we have no network, our Android Auto won't work, our GPS won't work, and our music will stop streaming as we're driving down the major freeways in the Portland metro area.
I have no idea what to do other than just go get a Samsung.
