Got the t-mobile version about a week now & I've been noticing it runs warm even when just sitting on the table no charging involved. I've disabled most settings I don't use.
Anyone else running warm??
According to gsmarena
'We should also note that even after extensive benchmark testing, the phone didn't get hot at all. Only the side frame, which is made of metal, tends to get warm but that's normal given the horsepower under the hood. We found the phone to be one of "coolest" ones around with a high-performance SoC.'
Concerned if that isn't true as I'm looking at this phone when the price drops.
Gets hot with GPS and games. Not sure if this is T-Mobile model specific.
I've also got the US T-Mobile version and it seems to get hot/warm using Bluetooth and playing music for roughly 45 mins not if a particular setting causes it or the case I'm using.
Due to this the phone gets a little laggy but cools down once Bluetooth is off.
Very cool surface temps, no different than the N10+ nor 7 Pro in this regard. CPU looks fine. ATT model.

Played
Asphalt 8, MC5
felt negligible heat.
Must admit, I've played a couple of games for a few hours and it just doesn't heat up. Very impressed!

Did you play games on mobile phone while are in the camping ?
congrat, little boy.
call us when you are over 14
bye.
Bull****.am a Nokia 8 user it heats like hell while gaming and charging literally my friends started to make fun of my phone.it really sucks
Maybe a fault?
Honestly mine just gets slightly warm at best, my old phone would get too hot too touch doing anything intensive, never tried playing a game whilst charging tho
I've found mine remarkably cool - yes it gets slightly warm on rapid charge, but I've never found it getting really hot like previous phones, even under intensive processing. If you find it getting very hot under normal use, try it without a case (some cases trap heat to a silly degree) and if you still have a problem I'd suggest getting the phone looked at. It's not a hot running phone.

Razer wasn't kidding when they said that the heat dissipation in this phone is borrowed from their gaming laptop division. This thing can get a little warm but is a far cry from all of the other phones that I have felt and used. Good work Razer. I benchmark like crazy and have not seen it throttle ever.
With the screen at 3/4 brightness and playing Titanfall Assault, the phone gets pretty warm. Which isn't an issue hwoever I notice the touchscreen starts to be less accurate.
Can't say it's been hot, not even sure I can say it's been warm. This is with using the razer rugged case, which is like 2-3mm thick so I think I would probably feel it if it became hotter.
Temps are good when verifying via CPUZ.
Heat dissipation is through the aluminum case itself and as such can get warmer than feels comfortable during heavy use.
When you play graphically heavy games for very long (examples 2 hours on RoS: Rules Of Survival), the phone heats up but its quite slow. Dissipates faster than other flagship phones though
Mine got way too hot too quickly.

Rippu. Try limiting your graphical use. The phone really puts emphasis more into the games and actually pushes your phone to the limits.
I've been doing hours of heavy gaming with MC5 while charging. This phone is slow to heat up, and stays relatively cool. I'm also using a case.

My P20 Pro gets VERY warm even without gaming under heavy screen usage. Lightroom, google photos, email, hangouts... I then put it in my pants pocket and could feel the heat noticeably till it cooled down.
My p20 pro is still pretty cold as it hasn't arrived yet
I've been surprised at the lack of heat!
Weird. Mine is fine. Something sucking up cpu time in the background maybe?
Mine gets quite warm even after light use (especially in the upper left corner).
Does the same happen to you? Is it normal?

Hi, same thing happens to me, albeit after a bit longer/more demanding use.
I've noticed when playing PUBG only, after the latest update that gives the game suite and some sec updates i think, the phone becomes warm, and then the heat from the battery/cpu interferes with the touchscreen and exactly where my finger is to move in pubg, its the warmest.
Thus it stops registering my finger and i quit moving in the game, wouldn't notice this on daily use of course, but i think it is a huge issue. Not because i died multiple times due to that in the game, but as it is a new and kindof premium phone, this shouldn't happen at all and was working perfectly for 2 months before that.
I've even installed an app to measure the temperature and it goes up to about 49 degrees celsius.
Any ideas?
Don't have any issue. Was using iPhone 6 and it was literally burning while am playing any game.
This device is far from getting warm compared to iPhone 6 and 7.
I'd say the P20 Pro is average when it comes to heat during use. It will never get uncomfortably hot, but can get fairly warm when gaming.

no heat issues compared to previous exynos s8, s9, note 9...
snapdragon is efficient, not sure about the exynos is s20 though..
was heating up in first few hours of use setting it up but not as warm as exynos.
reviewed on some you tube channel as well, max temp around 35 ish even after playing hours of pubg
The heat it produced when ultra fast charging is acceptable. Overall, I never experience any heat issue.
Phone doesnt get hot at all. Even while fastcharging and gaming combied it stays nice and cool. It does warm up a little bit as expected.
Honestly there's nothing to say. Lets see if it keeps cool in the summer months.

I'm at 80%
Setting up my phone for the first time. Took at off charger to set up. Cold as Ice. I don't know what people are talking about. Phones heat up when charging and pushed to the limit. Every phone I ever had.
It did get a bit warm the first day while putting it through the paces. So far haven't experienced that in normal use though.
It does get pretty hot. That's not very promising for long term battery life.
Mine doesn't even get warm while charging, in use and charging i might see 34c every now and then.
