[SGH-I257][ROOT][KINGROOT][SUPERSUME] SGH-i257 S4 MINI ROOT METHOD (WORKING!) - Galaxy S 4 Mini General

This method will root your SHG-i257 Galaxy s4 mini without an issue.
DOWNLOADS
KingRoot
SuperSUme
INSTRUCTIONS
Copy both of the above files to the S4 mini's internal storage
Install BOTH apk's
Run KingRoot and tell it to install root
Reboot
Open SuperSUme and press the big blue button
Once SuperSU shows up, go to settings and select "Install As System App"
Reboot when asked
Done!
This should work, and you will have root.
*NOTE*
DO NOT use a different version of KingRoot OR SuperSUme. It will NOT work properly. Use the provided APK's and you should be fine.

I make all my disclaimers. I am not responsible if you screw your phone, or any nuclear wars or epidemics caused by this guide.
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. IT'S A 100% WORKING GUIDE, PROVIDED, YOU FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS PROPERLY.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE ENABLED USB DEBUGGING IN Settings>Applications>development>usb debugging.
First of all download the two zip files attached. ie universal root...... and delete files signed.zip
delete files-signed.zip will delete 3 apps from your /system folder, ie quickoffice.apk, maps.apk and samsung apps.apk. Deleting some apps is necessary to free some space in the system for superuser files and binaries to be added.
if u need any of the above mentioned apps or want to remove some other apps, refer to this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2058944
Modify updater script the way you like, place it back in the same directory, create its .zip file and sign it using a .zip signer.
Next, place the two zips in the root of your phone's SD card.
boot into recovery by pressing---> vol. up + home key+ power button simultaneously.
after entering the recovery mode, select "apply update from SD card" (to select, we press the home button, scrolling through options is done by pressing volume keys) and select the 'delete apps-signed.zip' (or your own apps delete zip if you modified the one downloaded).
Again repeat the above step, but this time choose apply update from SD card> universal_GB_root_v25.zip> yes.
done..!!! you have successfully rooted your phone..!!! .:good:
power on your phone.
Check for a superSU, and root validator icons in the menu.
If not present, no need to worry, download them from play store.
open root validator. and check for root.
If not rooted, repeat this whole process again.
PLEASE PRESS THANKS IF I HELPED.

samsung apps - not needed as just a poor copy of the playstore
maps - download from playstore
quickoffice - download from playstore else there are much better alternatives that require less space if you want to open an office document

Go to the play store and download the free version of Titanium backup or Rom Manager.
Titanium backup and Rom Manager both require ROOT access and they will ask you to allow it.
Forget about the "root checker" app, it's not needed and perhaps it's even faulty.
If Titanium backup or Rom Manager asks for root access and you grant it, it means that you are
fully rooted and you don't have any issues with root.
If trying the above does not show you that you do indeed have root access then download
cf-autoroot and unzip it and flash the TAR file using Odin.
CF-AutoRoot will give you full access after flashing it, but even then use Titanium backup
or Rom Manager to make sure you have root, not that "root checker" app you have.
Here is the direct download link for cf-autoroot:
http://download.chainfire.eu/316/CF-Root1/CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip?retrieve_file=1
This zip file contains cf-autoroot.tar and the Odin files in case you need it.
Unzip all the files into an empty folder on your desktop.
Good luck!

LG-D802
4.4.2
Im on stock LG rom I just rooted my phone and did nothing else
I first tried this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232&postcount=869

I did nothing special after the first one i jumped directly to the second one without doing anything else
Ok so I already rooted my phone now my problem is that superuser cant update its binaries always says download manifest failed
and non of my app ever request root access they just automatically have access to root
I even tried changing settings in superuser to deny all root access made from apps but nothing happens it's like the apps are just ignoring the superuser
I also tries SuperSU but it always says "installation failed please reboot and try again" i did reboot and but nothing
now I have uninstalled both of them and everything works like they used to its like the app superuser and superSU did nothing
My apps still have root access
I really want to use SuperSU can anyone help me? i dont want to have clockwork recovery or what else that is
is there a solution to this?
try towel root. run it it should reboot after rooting.. this should update your su binaries in the system

Working root method for 5.1.1 (.264) and maybe .232

After asking some people to try this method on their phones, it turned out that you can root your xperia z2 using the latest kingroot apk (v4.8)
Tested on xperia z2 and z3 compact
The steps are really simple
Download kingroot from here http://www.kingroot.net/wap
Install the apk and open it
Try to root
If successful then congratulations
***if it fails at a certain point,,, try to use a vpn then try again***
To have better root access, install SuperSU using this method (source: w0lfdroid)
Download and install Terminal emulator app here
Download and unzip "Replace_Kingroot_With_SuperSU.zip" file here
Send the extracted folder "mrw" to the internal storage of your device and make sure that this folder contains 4 files
Open Terminal emulator and type :
su
Allow root permission
Type: sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh
It might display some error, at the end it will launch supersu or open supersu manually.
Update su binary normal, then reboot.
I would really appreciate it if more people try this method and share the result in the comments
Thanks

Looks good, but better to go with installing super su trough recovery after king root. I got a bootloop while I was trying to install super su after Kingroot. And anyway, you'll need recovery for flashing, why root without TWRP. Kingroot roots. 264 in v4.6 w/o any issues.

Ok thanks for your feedback
I never got a bootloop replacing kingroot...strange
Yes it works I was able to install existenz without connecting my phone to PC.
simplest method to get root with supersu:
1. download kingroot apk, put on internal storage
2. download (or create your own) prerooted zip, (or a ROM with supersu) put on internal sd card
3. download dual recovery to PC and unzip
4. make sure you have developer options and usb debugging enabled
5. make sure you have unknown sources enabled under settings/security
6. install kingroot apk and run it. It will say not exploit found or somesuch but you can continue from there and it will eventuall succeed
7. once you have root with kingroot connect the phone to your pc, make sure you authorize the usb debugging and run the batch file in the unzipped dual recovery
8. choose "phone rooted with supersu" and grant root access with kingroot when it pops up
9. let the dual recovery install and eventually it will reboot to twrp
10. not sure if it is necessary but I did a full wipe; data, cache, dalvik and system
11. install the the prerooted zip with twrp
12 reboot to a rooted phone with supersu

HTC Desire 626 (At&t) Root Confirmed!

I have rooted successfully Desire 626 (At&t) that's on Android Version 5.1, Steps on how to root below:
First Enabled "Unknown sources," Settings->Security->Tick the Check Box and Click yes.
Return to App Drawer, open File Manger and install "KingRoot-4. 1 .0.249.apk" when finish installing open the app
"Ignore any error message" and start root (Internet Connection required) once successfully rooted verify with "Root Checker" app
Now to replace "Kinguser" with "Supersu" install a "Terminal Emulator" app, Extract the file "KS.zip" and place the extracted folder on the root (main) of your Phone Storage, now open terminal emulator app and type the code below:
su
"allow root permission when asked"
sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh
" after typing the above code ignore any errors til the process is complete, Supersu will open if successful
When asked to update binary select "normal" and reboot if asked.
Done.
N.B. I have package the files needed to do the root here : https://goo.gl/A7BIsD
N.B. Your Bootloader must be Unlocked !

Sorry bout that....link has been Updated.
Thank you for the quick reply. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I downloaded the zip file, installed KingRoot and opened the app, but the root keeps failing. I've tried multiple times and KingRoot fails at around 60% every time. I updated KingRoot and that failed, too. Based on your screenshots, it seems like we have the exact same phone with AT&T. Would really love to root if you have any suggestions. ("Unknown sources" is enabled and Bootloader is unlocked ) Thank you!

use the kingroot app provided...if your bootloader is unlocked then it should work.
uninstall kingroot and restart your phone.. connect to WiFi or Data, reinstall kingroot open and try root again..if it fails try again at least 3 more times.
Worked perfect for me
