Unable to make calls using Jio - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Some background first; prior to this whole fiasco I was using LOS 15.1 with a Jio and a Vodafone SIM card. Everything worked fine and I faced no issues with calls or data. Last week I traveled to Thailand. There in order to use data services, I bought an AIS travelers SIM card. There too, I faced no problems with calls or data. This sunday I returned back to India and popped in my Jio SIM card. I could use data, but couldn't make any calls. If the network was switched / cell tower was changed the network would drop completely and I need to reboot my phone to get the network back. So for solving this issue, I've tried various methods none of which have worked. I'll list them below:
1. Network settings reset; no effect
2. Reconfigure the APN settings; no effect
3. Reflashed the modem / firmware; no effect
4. Full factory reset and clean flash of LOS 15.1 with latest GApps and Magisk; data no longer works
If someone has faced this issue, please guide me. This phone is my primary device and I don't even have a secondary device on me right now.
Thanks in advance.

Lost 4G LTE

Before we begin, let me just say that, yes, I'm retarded.
Here's the story. I bought the phone from Amazon in Mexico. I was using it just fine on the latest official update with Mexican carrier Unefon (MVN of AT&T Mexico) on 4G LTE just fine.
Yesterday I decided I wanted to give Lineage OS 16 a go.
I tried installing it but failed. I ended up with TWRP saying there was no OS despite having flashed it. Rebooting to system just bootlooped the phone.
So I gave up and went back to stock using Miflash and the stock image from a thread in here.
Everything went smoothly, or so I thought. Now my phone refuses to connect to 4G.
So far, I've tried:
• Swapping the sim to the other slot
• A different APN someone from the mi community forums suggested
• Forcing LTE using *#*#4636#*#*
• Tried to re-register on the network calling my carrier
• Manually searching for the network
Manually searching for the network returns only the competitor's 4G LTE network, and I just happen to have a SIM, so I tried and now know 4G still works on the phone itself.
I have also tried my SIM on an iPhone and the iPhone does pick up the LTE signal.
I'll leave a screenshot of the system just in case. Every suggestion is appreciated.
I have same issue, did you solved it?

Idea sim not working in Mi A1 after Pie January 2019 patch update

Hi there, I updated my Mi A1 through OTA to pie january update via Idea mobile data. But after it rebooted the network signal was gone. I tried inserting Airtel Sim card, it works.
It somehow has problems with Idea sim. The same idea sim works absolutely fine in other phones. Tried factory reset but to no avail.
Here is the list of things I already tried,
1) Inserting other operator's sim. Airtel SIM worked.
2) factory reset
3)Changing from 4G network to 3G or 2G. No use.
ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.

Same issue here, but on Cricket. I cannot make calls at all. I put this SIM in another phone and it works fine. I put the other working SIM in this phone and it doesn't work. Tried setting preference to 3G and 2G since I saw threads about VoLTE being broken by the update, but still nada. This really sucks. Can anybody help?

CustomRom or stock?
Same problem,
You got any solution?
Hi all,
The problem is with the baseband. Unlocking the bootloader corrupts the EFS for some devices like mine, though the IMEI was shown properly.
I had to totally restore my baseband, calls are fine now even on non-VoLTE network.
Check out this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k6-power/how-to/guide-restore-baseband-k6-note-imei-t4007861
And for the second SIM issue which a few people experience:
1. In stock ROM, primary mobile data SIM is set to LTE/WCDMA/GSM by default, but that is not the case with custom ROM (atleast in my case).
2. To get the second SIM slot work properly, manually set the network to GSM for your second slot (in case if your second slot is not your primary mobile data slot).
3. If you have changed the primary data SIM to your second slot, you have to set the first slot to GSM manually from network settings (this will not change automatically) and set your second slot to LTE/WCDMA/GSM. Your second slot will receive signal and connect to the network now.
Thanks,
tfr.

LineageOS 15.1 (unofficial) Oreo Galaxy S5 SIM fix HELP?

Hi. I'm on this ROM and it's stable except sometimes the SIM card drops and I have no signal. This happens when I boot and sometimes during regular phone operation. I tried to change my network status to LTE only as suggest by some users but then my phone says I have no network connection. I also have reset preferences for Wifi, Bluetooth, Network in settings and reset the SIM card by taking it out and putting it back in with and restarting the phone. Is there a fix to this? Im on the latest baseband G900VVZW2DQL1 on Verizon.

No SIM card error

Hi All,
Recently my one note 5 (N920I) experienced no SIM card error and i couldn't make any call or on data for my phone. I've tried below method but still couldn't solve the problem. Hopefully someone can help me or advise what i need to do. I haven't root my phone yet though. would factory reset solve my problem?
1. tried re-inserting the SIM card and retart the phone
2. tried to delete the cache data on the phone
3. tested SIM card is working on other phone
4. tried to check though the software/firmware details and found that baseband showing unknown
5. found IMEI is missing from my phone when entered *#060# but i'm able to retrieve my IMEI# through other means
i have that issue too, for some weird reason 2g seems to work. calls can be made and answered but mobile data only works on 3g or 4g or 5g.
if you set your phone on 2g only, it should recognize the sim card
