Is this really happening? I just wish the hell my zenfone 2 would let me send and receive a damn mms. people send me a text and I don't get for days or at all.

I did try to do that, but the default sms app isn't in auto start at all.

Isn't it listed in the pre-installed app section? I'm on CM13 so I can't look, but I remember there being two tabs in that app... One for downloaded and one for system apps...

I'm on the Asus stock rom right now because I don't want to root and install another rom just yet and it's not in there. but today there's an OTA update for my build that "I THINK" may just fix the issue. I hope so because it's been huge PITA for me not getting text and such.

Will Huawei send nougat OTA or do I have to download it?

I'm not seeing any traditional update software options in the about phone section. How will we receive Android OS updates on this tablet? Thanks.

Well it seems in the moment there just are no updates...
Normally you should get your update via ota (you should see an update option in your "main menu"), except for beta/leaked versions, if they should leak anyhow/anytime...
For now, there are no leaked or official updates for our mediapad m3 :-/

If you Google nougat for Huawei mediapad M3 there are several sites that claim they have the download you can Flash
The only thing in the about phone setting I can find about updates is updating the emui

As I know the update emui menu will also update your android (for example to android 7 + emui 5.0).
I know these sites, but as long as I do not see a link hier on xda, on the huawei news pages or on the huawei homepage itself I think these links are just nonsense.
(For example some of these pages just link every phone available and say "download XXXXX android 7 here"... I would not try to install these... But I also suppose you won't get a real package anyway there.)

Rally don't know if we ever see 7.0 for the M3.
The M2 never received 6.0, and what I heard is that Huawei just doesn't give a fu** about tablet software.

Huawei generally doesn't give a fu** about software updates. My Mediapad X2 GEM 701 never received an update. That's why I had to undergo a hugely complex updating procedure with chinese ROMs modified sh1t.

I just got the new update with October patch. They removed the navigation bar too.

How did you get this patch for your m3? Mine can not find any updates...

Chinese version only perhaps?

Actually it's the September security patch,but I got a notification in the update section. About 256mb. Took about 20 min to complete. I bought my tablet in Thailand.

Do you mean you can now disable the on-screen buttons or what has changed with that update? Thx!

I think that the NOUGAT OTA will be sent together with the new EMUI 5.0 (this version of its ui layer is based on android 7)... Anyone know an approximate date?

Correct,also it said better chrome operation,so maybe people that had problems running chrome in small format ,now can. I always had mine set in medium text and didn't have a problem. There were other things it said ,basic improvements,etc... I can't really notice any change other than the ability to disable the new buttons. Which like I said ,disables the ability to start split screen. Unless someone can tell me how to do NB it with only the fingerprint scanner......I'm also running Nova free launcher.
Plainly,this tablet is sick as F. I'm coming from a wifi only Xperia z3tablet compact though...... the only reason I bought this just because the camera Hardware had a malfunction on the Sony.

Haha haha,
Yes in a very good way. It's heavier than the z3 compact,and no water resistance,but it's smooth ,fast,and the LTE connectivity is incredible. I always have 5 bars of 4g. Now ,I live in Thailand,and the internet is crap here compared to the USA,so in the states it's probably even better. It was half the cost of a normal flag ship phone too,and it's basically a huge phone. It comes with a screen protector and a case,however the case is Carmel color and hard to look at,but it's growing on me. This tablet charges very fast too.
If your on the fence,buy it for sure.

That will be awesome. It's hard to think of this tablet being any better,and to think I almost bought a galaxy tab s2 for $70 more..,..glad I didn't.

Do you have the original Chinese rom in it? Did it come with Google play installed? Someone mentioned touchscreen issues on another thread here, do you have any issues as such? Thanks for all the information

Yes it came with playstore installed. I have no other issues. It's much better than I thought it would be.

As far as I read not all CPUs are conform with Android 7.0. The M2 has one of them. The CPU of the M3 is conform so i hope we will see the update soon.

Huawei Honor Note 8

Hi there I have a Huawei Honor Note 8. I've owned it for 4 weeks and I LOVE this phone. I don't have auto-update enabled on the Google Play Store so I do it manually and it worked until today. When I clicked update (there were 16 updates available and I only chose 15) it just sat there saying it was downloading but it wasnt. It went an hr and nothing still. The little icon kept on twirling around and each app individually kept saying downloading but nothing. It once did download but not now. So I went to the permissions in the settings and everything was still checked. Also, contacts stopped synching so I went to accounts and went to sync to do it manually and when I clicked sync all, it just sat there and nothing happened as if it were frozen. I knew I was taking a chance by ordering something from out of the country but everything worked fine the first few weeks.
I read that a system update came out and that people were having issues with their bluetooth connections after the update so I didnt accept any updates from Huawei in fear of those few comments. Do you think that has something to do with it and should I always accept system updates from huawei?
Confused but in LOVE with this device, best device I've ever owned. Im in the USA by the way if that matters. Also, browsing the web with wifi works fine so the wifi isnt the problem.

Its ok

SM N910T - Freeze and Release

My Note 4 suddenly freezes and releases often. I booted into safe mode and I still get the same problem but not as frequently. I did a reset from os level and also wiped cache. Still randomly freezes. Anything else I can try?

You battery may be starting to fail. I recommend getting a new one

Thx for the reply. I forgot to add that I tried with another battery - freeze and release continues. But the other battery was a little old - not a new one.

Since last firmware update, Note 3 and Note 4 started to experiment those kind of problem along with shutting down when at about 20% of battery... Is Samsung forcing us to upgrade???

Wow!! That would be illegal isn't it?
I bought a brand new Anker Battery hoping that it is the battery. But, Alas, No!! Still Freezes and Releases.
I should write in Samsung Forum as well, if anybody even cares anymore!!

UPDATE:
I read in another thread it was the Google App (the one with G written bigly). I cannot remove it as I am not rooted. So I disabled it (it replaces it with a factory supplied version), it will not appear in the list of apps.
Touch wood: The problem seems to have gone now. :good: :victory:
I am puzzled that an update for a Google App can render the phone useless - hope someone from Google is reading this!

Sorry, spoke too soon!! Uninstalling Google App did improve it a little bit but infrequent freeze still persists. I heard that another friend of mine who has Note 5 also has infrequent freezes. Samsung seems to be the culprit here as mentioned in the other thread.

I installed an app called "WakeLock" - Free from Google Store. I chose Option 4 - Partial Wakelock from Options!! It solved ALL Freeze and Release problems. It does make your phone drink more juice than usual - but it is worth it.
A friend of mine has Note 5 and he has same freeze and release issues. Not buying any more Samsung for a long time!!
Please note that my symptoms were different than the other long running thread.

Yeah..no problem on custom..u also can apply it without dialing the number because its already in the setting

the ping is unstable, sometimes its green, sometimes its become red like 900ping
but when i move my sim card on other phone and start tethering, the ping is stable at green / yellow.

I was on 186 when I first tried it (which works fine), now I'm on pie beta and it still works.
Likely you have a faulty device or a faulty update. I'm not having any of the symptoms you have on either M1 or M2.

I'm not sure which version you meant. As I'm on the Pie Beta and had not received any other update then the initial Pie Beta...
