Warp Charger Implementation On OP6T - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Has anyone tried to mod our beloved oneplus 6t to use warp charge speeds?
I know that there are some technical differences between regular and McLaren model, but I want to explore the possibility (Buying some parts of the McLaren Edition and etc.)
If anyone has already done this, I am looking forward to seeing your success story )
Thanks

It requires new battery, power management chip and increased wire/traces sizes to support the extra current.
Forget it.

Redmi 2A has no Custom Roms at all ... why?

I am really curious about it...
well, mainly because I am one of the stupid ones who bought a Redmi 2A while not living in China ... and the Redmi 2A (HM 2A) is a China only Phone.
It is bad enough that the phone gets sold in US, Europe and India, but in the end, most users are unable to use the Phone, as it only works with 2G connection.. 3G or 4G are mostly not possible to use due to Band Limitation.
So if you are not living in China, do not buy the Redmi 2A!
But anyhow.. how does it comes that there is really NO rom whatsoever for the Redmi 2A to find, noone in China interested enough? Why than the 'huge' custom Rom base with the Redmi 2? .... That really bothers me, as the Redmi2A seems to be a really nice Phone ... and also its selling numbers are not small
Kind Regards

Basically,
Kernel sources available=Tons of ROMs
Kernel source depends on chipset variant
Redmi 2A uses different chipset(Leadcore L1860C) than the usual Redmi2(Quallcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916).
As many SD410 devices are available in the market with kernel sources relaesed,(and no devices simmilar to Redmi2A having kernel sources released) ketut.kumajaya managed to reverse engineer the kernel and build CM12.1 which was used by others.
Thread link-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../how-to-convert-qualcomms-dtb-to-dts-t3221223
Yeah, i could kiss kumajaya .. either male or female, i don't care ^^
I am using a Nexus Experience Rom on my Redmi 2, properbly also just possible due to the unofficial kernel leak.
I always expected the 'damn' Leadcore CPU to be the reason noone ever made a custom Rom for it, but had no real 'proof' of it.
How much I would love to see the Kernel Source for Redmi 2 and with that also the Redmi 2A officially released. Latest then there would be properbly plenty of different Roms with even fewer Bugs (couldn't find one so far in my Nexus Rom)
It simply sucks that they didn't force stopped selling the Redmi 2A outside of China ... they properbly knew already before that this will cause lots of ppl to suffer from bying a Phone that is theoretical unusable in outside countries .. and after it was sold outside China, there should be at least a global rom, it couldn't be sooo hard to translate the default rom.. that alone would help a lot....
Well.. anyways I kind of gave up my hopes to see a kernel release and so I can properbly also give up hope that there will ever change anyhing regarding Redmi 2A...
Need to wait to get my USB Port on Redmi 2A fixed again and then I'll start deleting one after the other bloatware .. untill I really have as few Chinese Crap on Redmi 2A as possible...
Having in the end a List of Apps to uninstall without causing infinite reboot might help already... or finding proper exchanges for some apps in order to get rid of the chinese ones... But thats all i'll see when the USB Port is working for Computer connections too, and not only for charging if you get the USB plugged in in the right angle
it's very hard to develop device if didn't using mainstream SoC i think
If your Redmi2A is Quallcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916(cpu),you can try to use the ROM for wt88047,such as the lineage os(cm)

The Redmi2A is a Leadcore L1860C cpu. That seems to be one of the main reasons nobody does much with it, because these cpus are everything but mainstream.

thanks.
It's goodluck that i get the bestest version of Reimi2A.
Only the best version of Redmi2A have the Quallcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916.
hmm mine is also redmi2A, but i have no issues playing around with custom roms.
Just FYI, mine is 64-bit! Snapdragon 410 quad-core 1.2-GHz

Dear forum users, tell me how to flash this not up to the phone, I'm already tired, I can't find anything

Should I buy this phone?

Hi everyone!
As my ZUK Z2 got stolen, I'm currently thinking about buying this phone... But I'd like you all to tell me what the pros and cons are. Also I have this doubt: When it comes to "LeEco Le Pro3" on xda... does it include "elite version"? 'cause the one I'm thinking about is the "x722" one, which is called "LeEco Le Pro3 elite" and I do not know whether all this development belongs to sd821(x720, x725 and x727) or sd820(x722).
Thanks in advance!
The x727 and the x720 are the same phone more or less. I have the x727 and it's been a good phone. However you need to work on it - put a custom ROM for it to really be worth it. Also with Leeco's troubles I'd say a warranty isnt there despite what some sellers lead you to believe. Still it's fast good screen sounds good with stereo speakers.
I'm sorry to hear about your Z2. And there are two distinct development sections for the Pro3 in this forum. One is specifically for the x722. Scroll down.
The x720 and x727 have the Snapdragon 821 and NFC. The Elite (x722) does not, and has a Snapdragon 820. The x722 is a good phone but I often find myself needing more storage. 32 gigs simply isn't enough if you like to listen to music and game on your phone. Performance is good. There are now custom Oreo ROMs for the device.
My only issue is crappy build quality and some screen issues (just read through 2 pages of this Q&A sub-forum and you'll see what I mean) and no official kernel sources. Only the x720's kernel sources were released. We work off those, and that means buggier ROMs. If you can, get the x720 and get a variant with more than 32 gigs of storage. You'll thank me later.
It's also all too easy to brick this phone, and there's no QFIL file to revive it. I know the Z2 has a QFIL file. Well, so does the x720. But the x722 doesn't have one.
And the x720's QFIL doesn't work for the x722. So if your phone gets permabricked somehow... you're screwed forever, unless someone is able to provide us with an alternate solution. Just look at my signature and this forum's sticky.

I wanted to chime in and add to what everyone else has said.
In my opinion you should buy the X727 or the X720. I have 2 X727's and 2 X522 ( my Kids) and I absolutely love these phones, I saved so much money and bought my entire family a phone for less than I paid for just one phone is the past.
I have not seen the X722 in person. But I must say the quality of the X727 is as good as any phone you will find. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S7, it sits in a drawer and never gets used at all, not anymore.
My only complaint with the X727 was the stock software. This was resolved by upgrading to a custom Rom and there is alot to choose from 6 or 7 different versions of Nougat ( Paranoid, Omni, AICP, Revolution Remix, Lineage) and and an equal amount of fully supported roms for Oreo ( Lineage, AICP, AOSIP,Pixel Experience, as well as a few roms that you can find on other sites)
The development community is strong, full of very helpful people that will be glad to help you if you need help or have a simple question. Additionally, with the X727 and X720 you can use the outstanding Pixel ported Camera ( Not sure if it works for the X722)
I hope this helps.
PS: If you buy the phone, consider buy it on Amazon, they provide an excellent warranty and will fully reimburse you if anything goes wrong.

I do not see the situation so pessimistically. BTW, I checked the hint of tsongming, the MallStop sells on Amazon the Le 3 Pro for $188 the 4/64 GB version. What a steal!
My X722 (Elite/SD820 4/32GB $200) lost its EUI 5.8.020 very quickly - what a load of crap it is!
The Lineage 15.1, albeit in "version 1.0" unlocks the power of the HW perfectly and beautifully. Even Lineage 14.1 (Nougat) is quite usable.
The stand by discharge is 0.2%/hr, fast charging with conservative 2.5 A, adjustable OS performance ... everything works for me just fine.
Exceed my expectations, alright.
Warranty? Who needs the stinky warranty? At that price, I'd toss the bricked phone and buy another one.
Le Eco has a firesale. There won't be many at that price for too long. https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-leeco-letv-le-pro-3-x722
Thank you all guys... What I've seen so far is that I'd be more convenient to buy the x720 one due to its posibility of reviving by QFIL (special thanks to @sk8223 for clarifying about QFIL). I like testing new things over my phones and wouldn't like to mess it up for forever (besides the fact of losing my money)... So I think I gotta set aside more money and buy x720 version.
Thank you all for replying!!

It's used but many people have told me: "used things on amazon are pretty good". I got this question: since it's the x727 model... Does the qfil from x720 work on x727 version?

Yeah, but it might cause your device to be detected as an x720. But there's a simple build prop fix for that in the x720's QFIL thread.
Also, used phones from third-party sellers on Amazon or from even U.S. retailers aren't necessarily good. There was a thread here a while back about someone who bought an x727 locally in the U.S. through Google Express and their phone ended up BSODing.

You always take risks when buying these types of discontinued devices.

I read it completely... I'm a little scared now. I do not want to get a BSOD... I have the option to buy the x722 version at US$159 (totally new) but i wouldn't like to brick it, I'm always testing things on phones and it's not easy for me to set aside money. I thik I'll have to take the risk.
BTW, any page to see discounts on smartphones? (skipping kimovil.com)

I don't know of any discount pages. Just Google for coupons for the store you plan to buy from. I saw the x722 get discounted to $130 USD and lower with cashback. A definite buy at that price. I bought mine for that price but I now realize that the 32 gig version is simply too little for me. I can barely fit my music collection on there let alone games for emulators like PPSSPP or Android games. Only 3 gigs of storage left so I plan on selling this device now that I have a Redmi Note 4.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good phone with a way better build quality and specs than the RN4 but no headphone jack + expandable storage = massive mistake. I can get used to no headphone jack but not 32 gigs of storage... takes me back to my iPhone 5 days. I wish I could keep it but alas.
If you buy it new online you're still taking a risk, but that risk is mitigated if you pay via PayPal and record your unboxing. Make sure you test every feature possible on camera so you have proof if something goes wrong.
I would not recommend buying this the company who sell this is bad shape.
I should you give them the money if they will not back their product.
I hope they sink the rest of the way!!

Is something from Zenfone Max Pro Compatible with Max Plus?

I am an unfortunate owner of a Zenfone Max Plus. I think this device does not have a dedicated topic here on xda. Can Max Pro's root methods be used on Max Plus as well?
If you want an expensive paperweight, go right ahead!
I was worried about this
I think this device has no salvation at all. And it seems that no one is interested in carrying anything to him.
Thanks for the info.

Bought the phone on prime day cheap for $150 but haven't found anything for it yet,the Max Pro on the other hand has people looking out for it.I think it has to do with the Plus having a mediatek chip that makes roms harder to be built for it.As most roms are snapdragon correlated.I could be wrong.I've thought of porting twrp over for this device myself and read the guides. If you want I can try porting it and maybe you can test it first? Also read some guides on how to port roms for mediatek chips,we need to find a similar device with the same chip a hopefully same screen size as well that has a custom rom for the greatest chance of porting a rom.I'm not sure it's doable but I can look into it.Anyways I'm probably going to try to port twrp at least and maybe you can be a tester? As for root I think magisk will work just need to first port twrp.

Few questions before potentially buying first OnePlus device

I'm looking to upgrade from a Samsung Galaxy S4. I followed OnePlus for a while and I still regret not buying the 6T McLaren Edition. However, I have some questions regarding the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition and OnePlus in general:
Do you guys have problems with delayed notifications? I've read a few reviews where the phone didn't give a notification for some apps and it was needed to open the apps manually to see the notifications.
I'm looking for a phone with good rom development. For example, I still use my 6-year-old S4 with Official LineageOS 16.0 and the developers are already busy with LineageOS 17.0. I know it's hard to say if a device will be supported by rom developers, but how do you guys think the rom development will be for the 7T Pro. If I buy the McLaren Edition, can I still use roms that are made for the normal 7T Pro, as the McLaren Edition has more RAM? To be fair, I doubt the rom support for the 7T Pro (McLaren Edition) will be the same as the normal 7 Pro and that is what is holding me back from buying the phone. Should I wait for future OnePlus devices for better rom support?
When the 7T Pro gets updates from OnePlus, does the 7T Pro McLaren Edition receive the same updates at the same time?
Will software improve drastically as Android 10 is "new"?
In the past weeks I've seen many people with battery problems on Android 10. What is the Screen-on Time and battery life in general on the 7T Pro McLaren Edition and are the problems already fixed? In my opinion 4 hours SOT is disappointing for such a big battery..
Is it easy to root the 7T Pro McLaren Edition? Will Viper4Android work on it?
Are the ghost touches already fixed?
Does the phone overheat as I've read in some reviews?
Does the 7T have a better screen then the 7T Pro McLaren Edition?

No, but if you do, you can always choose not to use battery optimization.
OnePlus has always been developer friendly. Hard to see that change with the 7T Pro. The status of the McLaren, which is the one I have, is still a little hazy, but I think it'll work just fine with standard 7T Pro custom roms.
Yes, The McLaren will get updates at the same pace as the standard 7T Pro. I got the 10.0.3 update right out of the box, and it's the same as on the beforementioned model.
Only time till tell.
It's impossible to give you an exact figure of what SOT you can expect. All users are different, and habits are going to be the crucial factor here. I'd say you'll end up with around four hours minimum and something like eight-ten maximum. At least that's what we've been seeing so far.
Yes, the rooting procedure is the same on the McLaren. V4A will therefore work.
I've had no issues with ghost touching.
No overheating either.
Oh, hell no. The McLaren packs the same screen as the 7T Pro, which is a QHD+ one, compared to the 7T, which only has FHD+, and seems prone to green tint, which the 7T Pro is unaffected by.

what happened to the development on the OnePlus 7t pro McLaren 5G?

One of my favorite parts of OnePlus was always the development supported to the devices. I've always used and flashed as many rounds as possible for whatever device I've ever had. So I went to T-Mobile and bought the OnePlus 70 pro 5G McLaren or McLaren 5G. and somehow the fact that I got a specialty phone put me in an area where I can't take advantage of any of the ROMs in development for the device.this is a time when I wish I would have developed and compiled my own ROMs I'm sure I could figure it out but we need help over here.

That is why I am thinking of eBay'ing mine and getting a non-carrier 8 Pro - IF it has the proper setup of frequencies for US Tmo, as it appears it does. This should make rooting, updates and development to be much easier
Yeah thats an idea I haven't thought of. I was actually looking into buying a 7t. There's at least an international unlocking method for it.
What happened with this device? I dont understand why there is 0 rom's. If it is the 5G, I would think that is not an issue. I am sure most people would dump 5G for Custom Rom's. I am not sure where to start to figure this out. Lineage OS supports the other variants of this device.
I think the HD1925 just wasn't a big seller, maybe to be expected as an early adopter 5g phone, specific to USA and T-Mobile, that has already been eclipsed. It was a modification of an existing phone that was reasonably successful, but it's different enough that ROMs for the other variants don't work.
I would not expect much future development, if you like Oxygen and stock ROM then it will be fine, rooting and Magisk are possible and can give you a lot of options for customizing. If true custom ROMs like LineageOS are important to you, I'd probably get something else.
It would be nice to at least get TWRP for this thing. I am going to be getting rid of mine and trying to find another phone that doesn't stifle development. Sad because I really do like the phone.

I'm trying to get a 8 Pro for that reason, but OnePlus is driving me and many others nuts. Then this one will be on eBay - but only after the 8 is setup.
TWRP is nowhere near ready for all newer devices that shipped with Android 10. Probably later in 2020.
And to make matters worst, we will not be able to take full advantage of 5G due to a lack of support for some of the freq's.
Supposedly we should see band 41 via an update eventually so really the only bands missing from the 5g McLaren are mmwave which are useless outside of a stadium or metropolitan area so once we get the midband update things will improve speed and signalwise...

Is this normal? I've been trying to join this group to no avail..
So far I've tried.
1. resetprop persist.radio.multisim.config dsds
This enabled the second sim to show up in sim settings. It also grays out the sim1 and does not allow any changes to it.
2. Used the manifest.xml from https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/oneplus-7t-pro-mclaren-5g-dev-starts-t4028815/page8
Created a magisk module to copy this manifest.xml during boot and nothing changed in terms of sim. The build.props file did not have persist.radio.multisim.config after putting this file in.
Any updates from the telegram group? Love to see Dual Sim in action.
