Hi everyone!
As my ZUK Z2 got stolen, I'm currently thinking about buying this phone... But I'd like you all to tell me what the pros and cons are. Also I have this doubt: When it comes to "LeEco Le Pro3" on xda... does it include "elite version"? 'cause the one I'm thinking about is the "x722" one, which is called "LeEco Le Pro3 elite" and I do not know whether all this development belongs to sd821(x720, x725 and x727) or sd820(x722).
Thanks in advance!
The x727 and the x720 are the same phone more or less. I have the x727 and it's been a good phone. However you need to work on it - put a custom ROM for it to really be worth it. Also with Leeco's troubles I'd say a warranty isnt there despite what some sellers lead you to believe. Still it's fast good screen sounds good with stereo speakers.
I'm sorry to hear about your Z2. And there are two distinct development sections for the Pro3 in this forum. One is specifically for the x722. Scroll down.
The x720 and x727 have the Snapdragon 821 and NFC. The Elite (x722) does not, and has a Snapdragon 820. The x722 is a good phone but I often find myself needing more storage. 32 gigs simply isn't enough if you like to listen to music and game on your phone. Performance is good. There are now custom Oreo ROMs for the device.
My only issue is crappy build quality and some screen issues (just read through 2 pages of this Q&A sub-forum and you'll see what I mean) and no official kernel sources. Only the x720's kernel sources were released. We work off those, and that means buggier ROMs. If you can, get the x720 and get a variant with more than 32 gigs of storage. You'll thank me later.
It's also all too easy to brick this phone, and there's no QFIL file to revive it. I know the Z2 has a QFIL file. Well, so does the x720. But the x722 doesn't have one.
And the x720's QFIL doesn't work for the x722. So if your phone gets permabricked somehow... you're screwed forever, unless someone is able to provide us with an alternate solution. Just look at my signature and this forum's sticky.

I wanted to chime in and add to what everyone else has said.
In my opinion you should buy the X727 or the X720. I have 2 X727's and 2 X522 ( my Kids) and I absolutely love these phones, I saved so much money and bought my entire family a phone for less than I paid for just one phone is the past.
I have not seen the X722 in person. But I must say the quality of the X727 is as good as any phone you will find. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S7, it sits in a drawer and never gets used at all, not anymore.
My only complaint with the X727 was the stock software. This was resolved by upgrading to a custom Rom and there is alot to choose from 6 or 7 different versions of Nougat ( Paranoid, Omni, AICP, Revolution Remix, Lineage) and and an equal amount of fully supported roms for Oreo ( Lineage, AICP, AOSIP,Pixel Experience, as well as a few roms that you can find on other sites)
The development community is strong, full of very helpful people that will be glad to help you if you need help or have a simple question. Additionally, with the X727 and X720 you can use the outstanding Pixel ported Camera ( Not sure if it works for the X722)
I hope this helps.
PS: If you buy the phone, consider buy it on Amazon, they provide an excellent warranty and will fully reimburse you if anything goes wrong.

I do not see the situation so pessimistically. BTW, I checked the hint of tsongming, the MallStop sells on Amazon the Le 3 Pro for $188 the 4/64 GB version. What a steal!
My X722 (Elite/SD820 4/32GB $200) lost its EUI 5.8.020 very quickly - what a load of crap it is!
The Lineage 15.1, albeit in "version 1.0" unlocks the power of the HW perfectly and beautifully. Even Lineage 14.1 (Nougat) is quite usable.
The stand by discharge is 0.2%/hr, fast charging with conservative 2.5 A, adjustable OS performance ... everything works for me just fine.
Exceed my expectations, alright.
Warranty? Who needs the stinky warranty? At that price, I'd toss the bricked phone and buy another one.
Le Eco has a firesale. There won't be many at that price for too long. https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-leeco-letv-le-pro-3-x722
Thank you all guys... What I've seen so far is that I'd be more convenient to buy the x720 one due to its posibility of reviving by QFIL (special thanks to @sk8223 for clarifying about QFIL). I like testing new things over my phones and wouldn't like to mess it up for forever (besides the fact of losing my money)... So I think I gotta set aside more money and buy x720 version.
Thank you all for replying!!

It's used but many people have told me: "used things on amazon are pretty good". I got this question: since it's the x727 model... Does the qfil from x720 work on x727 version?

Yeah, but it might cause your device to be detected as an x720. But there's a simple build prop fix for that in the x720's QFIL thread.
Also, used phones from third-party sellers on Amazon or from even U.S. retailers aren't necessarily good. There was a thread here a while back about someone who bought an x727 locally in the U.S. through Google Express and their phone ended up BSODing.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/help/bricked-le-pro-3-727-blue-screen-death-t3760266
You always take risks when buying these types of discontinued devices.

I read it completely... I'm a little scared now. I do not want to get a BSOD... I have the option to buy the x722 version at US$159 (totally new) but i wouldn't like to brick it, I'm always testing things on phones and it's not easy for me to set aside money. I thik I'll have to take the risk.
BTW, any page to see discounts on smartphones? (skipping kimovil.com)

I don't know of any discount pages. Just Google for coupons for the store you plan to buy from. I saw the x722 get discounted to $130 USD and lower with cashback. A definite buy at that price. I bought mine for that price but I now realize that the 32 gig version is simply too little for me. I can barely fit my music collection on there let alone games for emulators like PPSSPP or Android games. Only 3 gigs of storage left so I plan on selling this device now that I have a Redmi Note 4.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good phone with a way better build quality and specs than the RN4 but no headphone jack + expandable storage = massive mistake. I can get used to no headphone jack but not 32 gigs of storage... takes me back to my iPhone 5 days. I wish I could keep it but alas.
If you buy it new online you're still taking a risk, but that risk is mitigated if you pay via PayPal and record your unboxing. Make sure you test every feature possible on camera so you have proof if something goes wrong.
I would not recommend buying this the company who sell this is bad shape.
I should you give them the money if they will not back their product.
I hope they sink the rest of the way!!

Hi all,
I do hope I am asking it in the right place (I didn't want to make a new thread at first, but the closest one I found was locked, so...).
I am willing to buy a Xiaomi MI2S phone. I already know it is only be sold in China (that isn't a problem, actually). I am mostly interested in the 32Gb version, it has really awesome specs.
I have been making a lot of research about this phone and, from what I've seen so far, feedback is positive. That is comforting, to me, but on the same page, I am directly addressing towards people who actually own this phone (or at least have tried it), what are its fails ? Is that phone as perfect as it looks ? Are there some serious flaws/inconveniences with it ?
Second, I also know that the device comes with a specific ROm (MIUI, available in both English and Chinese). I am totally fine with that, as I had a previous positive experience with MIUI roms. But I'd also like to know if, actually, it is possible to customize the phone ? I mean bootloader unlock, root ? Are there some custom roms (well I do mean Cyanogen support, or Cyanogen ports) for Xiaomi MI2S ? These aspects remains a bit unclear, and any piece of information would be much appreciated.
Thanks reading.
i'm willing to buy this phone too. When my good old LG O2x wil die (Can happen every minute ) So i also did some research.
In my langauge (Dutch) There is a lot of information about it. there is a topic on tweakers.net with lots of users who own the device. They are all very happy with it. Here you go... Ok, it's dutch.. But with the use of a translator.. I guess you can get some interesting things out of it. If not.. I could translate some pieces of text for you to english. Just PM me. Not the whole forum of course
About the ROM's. For as far as i know.. There are still no roms without MIUI.. But i'm not suprised if there are roms without MIUI. Maybe in china..
That's all i can help you with atm..
Good luck with researching
miui was modify from cm
and no other rom for mi2s now.
Hello,
I know is my first post here, but i own a MI2 (almost same specs as MI2S, last one using krait processor, better camera) since december this year.
So far nothing to complain about:
- with MIUI V5 battery last 2 full days (wi-fi on, push e-mail on, gps on)
- gps accurate about 2-3 meters
- no problem with gsm/3G signal
- display is very sharp, resistant to scratches, maybe some kind of ACG glass (drop it few times on the concrete, last time i forgot it on the top of my car and i go only plastic frame around display deform)
- sometimes it`s shut off by himself (dunno why, maybe i mess around with secondary recovery partition when it was on MIUI V4)
- no laggy at all (over 72 apps instaled)
- overall a good phone, and i like it
- i use it with the native rom and i get via OTA some updates at 2-3 weeks
sorry for my bad english, hope that helps

According to the people i refered to in my previous post..www.ibuygou.com is the best shop for the Xiaomi Mi2S device, when it comes to shipping. Some people in holland say that it takes only 1 day to ship, others complain that it takes more than 3 weeks. It depends on the amount of devices they have in stock.
The prices are great btw, 300 euro / 400 dollar for the 16gb, 350 euro / 450 dollar for the 32gb variant. And max 20 dollars for import
They also have accesoires like back covers, cases, batteries etc.
How fast is the GPS locking on the Mi2S?
This is really the perfect phone, with the exception it doesnt have LTE (does it?)
I had a mi 2
Its the best smartphone in 4.3" formfactor
Fast, stable
Very good camera
Long lasting akku on (gps wlan, edge)
Out of the box fast and stable no need for custom rom
Beside miui there is a stockandroid rom with english and chinese language
Cons
3g akku drain
Thick and high weight in comparison to s3, htc one
Bad support in fact of defect or something
Sometimes bad reception
Sometimes microphone issues ( mayve only my device)

Hi all,
First of all, thanks for the positive feedback.
Well, Ibuygou seems to be a popular (and good) choice as a way to purchase the phone.
I'll consider that. Thanks for the tip.
Well, I still don't have much information about the second part of the question though. I am looking for information in the actual state-of-art on modding the phone : is there some safe ways for bootloader unlock, phone rooting ? Are there custom roms actually for Xiaomi devices, or at least, devs working on that ?
These aspects still remain a bit unclear to me, and i'd like to be enlighten on this.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Well it seems i missed natoleon's answer on that:

There is no developers support due to lack of source code for the kernel as they refuse to follow the GPL laws. Also. Ok real development team has any respect for the MIUI crew as it is well known they take code from others and don't give anything back. For the these reasons this device will not see any development or forums here.
Wayne Tech Nexus
You can find a AOSP for Xiaomi Mi2/Mi2S here. It uses the same kernel though.

Hi, thanks for your prompt reply....
i heard a rumor that Mi3 is getting launched by august 16th... is that true ? also with full HD & octa core CPU ?
above all it is priced at 320$ !!!
I am very excited & i am kind of lets wait no matter even if the earthquake happens.... what should i do man ???
Hi,
I it's up to you.
The question is, do you want BIG and heavy phone (MI3, 5" screen, fullHD) or relatively small but still veeery fast (Mi2S, 4,3" screen, 720p).
Both phones are so fast that rest of parameters doesn't matter, you don't feel the difference....
I am very happy that MI2S have only 4,3" screen, not 4,5" or bigger because I want "compact" but fast phone with 2GB ram.
So I don't care about MI3.

will update once i get progress regarding this... can i see ur Mi2S ? & which ROM r u using currently ? what r all the must have apps to be installed & what crap wares to be uninstalled ? it is better we chat through PMs.... what do u say ?
I'm considering to buy this smartphone. Although it is not the newest one and the best on the market it could be interesting or me.
I can purchase european/italian version through official channel, but it is not very cheap € 319...
Keep in mind that I want to use it with the official CyanogenMod, so unlock bootloader, flash TWRP and install new ROM
Now I need the opinion of owners of such device ...
Are there known problems o the oneplus two (2) which advise against purchase ...?
I noted that it is not very followed in the various forums, unlike his predecessor, and that the modding more limited it seems to me
Your opinions, please ...?
Thanks, in advance

in my opinion i love my Oneplus 2. Default oxygenos gave me too many issues so i made the switch to ParanoidAndroid and have not had any problems other than user error. I haven't played around too much with cyanogen but in hear this phone handles it surprisingly well as long as you get a good build. I say if you feel like going ahead then definitely do it. Modifications to software don't void your warranty so no worries there.
Thank you for your feedback

I believe is still a great phone for the price considering the specs, there are a few guys having trouble with the fingerprint sensor from time to time (happened to me once) and some guys have had their second sim messed up by either flashing a rom or by some other random action. Anyways I recommend you try buying it from swappa as from time to time there are people selling mint condition phones along with a few accesories (styleswap covers, cases, etc... ) from less that the money a new (but without accesories)phone would cost. I got mine (64gb version) from swappa.com with 3 original styleswap covers, 3 cases and a template glass for $235 which isn't too bad in my book.

Is is still worth buying?
Ι was thinking to buy a used Oneplus 3T, but the price for a used one remains in levels of 350-400dollars.
Then I started considering the LeEco Le Pro 3 64gb, as it's available at Chinese resellers at 290$.
I am aware of the variety of Roms and the support of the XDA community, but I have read about some issues with the software when this device was launched.
So, I am wondering if these problems are now solved and what other issues I must take into consideration.
Go for it. I was using my x727 with stock rom without any major issue (sometimes notifications did not worked but that have been discussed many times). Then decided to flash android 7, this phone is a beast! You can not buy anything better for that price.
This is easily the best hardware for the money. Build quality is good, dev community is quite active, only real con being really ****ty camera.
I have had Le Eco Le Pro 3 since Dec. 1. Got it on sale for $249.Has worked fine. Using Nova launcher over Marshmallow 6.01.
Have not flashed Lineage ROM, for fear of bricking it.
Some small glitches, such as using their ear pods. Earlier, microphone would go out, when screen went off. Updates fixed that, but microphone stopped working on 3 pairs of Le Eco Headphones.
But I am pleased. Getting 64gb of storage, 4gb of Ram, and the 821 chip are all great.
Biggest item is battery. 4,000 mA. Great, lasts. And Quickcharge 3.0 charges quickly.
Given that Le Eco is virtually out of business in US, probably no updates.
But, sounds like less issues than OP5.
I would buy Pro 3 again. You should buy it.
It's a great device. I got OmniRom flashed on it and I'm really happy with it. Works smooth and I got no problems at all.

yeah this device with latest OmniRom Android 7.1.2 and standard Kernel runs like a monster i have 2 days standby and 7:30h SoT by normal use: Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Bluetooth with Android Wear,Browsing and Youtube. its a great device for low price! its fast and battery life is awesome!
I've been thinking of buying the Le Pro 3 X720, but I don't know which stores I can buy it from with a stock ROM.
Banggood has a "Vendor Rom" installed so that's a no go. Honorbuy claims it comes installed with "Official multilanguage ROM", but it's out of stock and the shipping is quite steep with a 34 euro shipping cost to sweden.
If someone can recommend a store where I can buy a Le Pro 3 X720 with a stock multilanguage ROM and not a Vendor ROM I would appreciate it greatly.

tradingshenzen.com maybe? You get it there with an International ROM & have to install Gapps if needed by yourself, they have their own tutorial for it. Tyvärr the international ROM don't include swedish language either, but you get swedish partially by installing morelocales2 (Playstore). Thats the way I did. I own my LePro3 now for three month, after trying some Custom ROMS I'm now back on a debloated 023S stock ROM with root using Nova Launcher and I'm absolutely satisfied.

Also, as for the answer to your question, you won't find any ROMs for that device right now cause.. well, it's unreleased
Well i was just thinking that I can install the rom of lemax 2 or pro 3,
as for the device I got it from a company worker as u can see in the pics it has some serial no printed in the whole phone
It's specs are :- 2560*1440 resolution 5.7 inch screen, Android 60.1, snapdragon 821 with 6 gb ram 64 gb storage, 4000 mah battery 13 mp dual cam secondary is black and white cam front 16mp.
How will you install the ROM? Since it's unreleased, there's no recovery. Moving on, you can try installing a ROM from the Le Pro 3 forums, but it'll surely be extremely unstable and buggy. Probably even more so than your EUI. Still, if you're determined.. try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development/rom-paranoid-android-t3635168
And finally, I had been planning to buy a Le Pro 3 this Christmas, but now if the Le Max 3 is coming.. Do you know when will the phone release and what will be the expected price??
Lastly, if I helped you in any way, please press my thanks button. It slightly helps
@anmolsraj Where did you purchase the phone, from what reseller? Please don't say TinyDeal.. I was about to order one there, it might have saved me from a doomed day.
Please let us know from what source you got your device. It looks like a weird model because those models normally have one camera sensor and not two (in the rear)? Yeah the cool dual has two cams but the x7xx models should not have them?

That's because that phone is an Le Max 3. An unreleased phone. The OP must've got it from a friend who's related to LeEco. Don't expect to get it as of now.

I looked at TinyDeal on uhm trustpilot. Not going to buy it there haha..
Looks like they buy and ship after buying stock hence the price they also declare the item as its real value. Meaning that customs will rape ya.
Too bad.. I was hoping that this phone would work with Android Nougat, so that we could extract the ROM from it.
We could then have port it on the Max2 or Pro3.

I am pretty sure posting information about unreleased device is illegal will get you in trouble according to NDA.

eUI is the best UI ever use it as it is.

Each to their own, not sure many people would agree though.

Le Max3

If we could get Lineage OS for Redmi 7a and a good working GCAM then this phone for 6400(INR)/90$ is absolute amazing for an average person as daily driver.
As long as you're not a hardcore gamer. This is good enough for You.
Is there any dev working on it?

Hello,
waiting for my model currently
As to the question about when there will be custom roms - the phone was announced only months ago and we will need to wait until it spreads in usage to someone able to develop and maintain custom roms for it. Or some developer not in possession of the device does it, but these projects - in my experience - often lack quality and support.
However the device is globally available (afaik) and extremely attractive with its low price tag while overall good specs, so it's gotta be only a matter of (imo short) time until the userbase has grown so much that some people will put together something...
And yes, I also like to see some roms on it for data security reasons - surely not the only one .
P.S.: watch this if you want to know why it is so cheap

Can only repeat.
I strolled through a russian forum a while back, they seemed to have a few things up like TWRP, but no sight of a ROM.
Unfortunately I don't know where the chinese forums are at but may take a look at chinese official mi forum later.
