[HELP] LG G6 [unusual] Bootloop / Hard brick, please help (details below) - LG G6 Questions and Answers

SO recently while charging I was installing oreo 8.0, I mean it wasnt even installing it was just downloading, and suddenly my phone froze, for a good 5 minutes I left it, and nothing happened. After that I restarted (hard reset) by holding power button volume + and volume - buttons. But it took me to this bootloop. (check image below)
I had it under warranty so I took it to the LG service center here, and they agreed to have a look at it. But since my back glass had a crack they said my warranty was void and it would cost me 120$ (wtf) to repair the back and after that they will determine if the software can be fixed. But according to them if I give them the money to fix the back, it would bring my phone back under the warranty (never heard of unvoiding a warranty).
Please check the image here:- https://imgur.com/a/pWshnYE
And for a video of this happening here:- https://youtu.be/iIGL6SeFDv0
I have done everything suggested in blogs, tried factory reset: - it would just keep rebooting even after pressing power plus volume down for hard factory reset
tried freezing it, tried heating it (Not extremely)
Connecting to the computer doesnt give anything either.
What should I do? Any recommendations? Should I just pay the huge amount of money and give it to lg? as if a spend 70-80$ more I can get an iPhone 6s or top notch huawei phone maybe.
Guys its a lot of money for me really, I'm unemployed right now and I need a working phone (using a nokia for calls) so I am reluctant to spend money as what if it cannot be repaired, or the bootloop returns after repaired (happened to me once with LG G3), I checked out my local dealers they refused to buy it from me. ANY help will be appreciated. Thank you so much
LG is by far the worst brand in terms of quality of the goods. I have a bootlooped G3 and bootlooped Nexus 5 already, and now this as well.. FML. :/

[Q] [NEED HELP] Samsung Focus Bricked after App Crashed

I have an unlocked AT&T Samsung Focus which I just got two weeks ago. And for some weird reason, the phone got bricked. It wasn't because of any update or anything.
What happened was I was just checking an app which I downloaded from the Marketplace, which got stuck (none of the buttons on the device were responding after several minutes). So I had to pull out the battery to restart the phone.
It now gets stuck in what appears to be an endless boot cycle. All I see is the Samsung logo which disappears after a while and then reappears. The phone doesn't seem to go beyond that.
I tried hard reseting the phone (Power + Volume DOWN + Camera), and even after formatting it several times, the problem is still the same.
I also read somewhere that if you leave the phone in Download Mode (Power + Volume UP + Camera) for a few minutes, it somehow *magically* restores itself. This didn't work for me either even after leaving it in the download mode for about an hour.
Now asking the excellent community of XDA for help is the last thing I can do because since I'm not in the USA, I can't even get a warranty claim on my Focus, and its nothing more than a paperweight right now.
So any ideas/tips/suggestions on what I should do?
Return it !
That's something I just can't do. Got it through a 3rd party in the US so I can't just return it. I'm not in the US, and I doubt that 3rd party company would have kept any records.
What I'm wondering is if the issue is in the hardware or the firmware. If it is the later, then is it possible to flash the ROM and see if it works?
Make a full hard Reset on it. If that not work. Your OS is screwed. You buy the phone unlocked so it have no warranty. If the hard reset don't work start praying to the hackers gods to start working on a ROM for all the Bricked Focus out of warranty out there.
I'm actually surprised there isn't any ROM/Hacking activity on the Samsung Focus yet. Its actually one of the top selling WP7 devices.
What I'm actually interested in knowing is that if it really is an OS/Firmware issue or a faulty NAND Flash which is causing the problems.
If its a NAND, then even a ROM wont be able to help. Any way to confirm this?
You could try to make a "jig" and force it into download-mode and flash a ROM, like I describe here. But I don't know if there is a ROM available.
I can get it into download mode. That's not the issue. The problem is the ROM. There aren't any available for Samsung Focus.

update problem

i am having a problem with the update procedure on my trophy
its on the 7392 update and at the last step 9/10 where it says rebooting your phone it has stuck there for over a half an hour.
The phone shows the htc logo (white background)
What should i do? Should i cancel the update?
thx
after one hour waiting on the rebooting point i decided to press cancel on the update
Now the phone doesnt start
What can i do ?
I have to contact htc or is a way to recover it?
Take the battery out, put it back in, then hold the volume down and power buttons. See if the recovery screen shows up (Blue, Red, Green stripes).
If so, find a RUU restore file for your network on the development subforum. Ask for help here if you're stuck.
the problem is that the phone doesnt start. Its dead. Maybe it wass a hardware prob because from the beggining when i got it the scrolling wasnt as smooth as the other trophys i have.
Is there a prog like phoenix on nokia for htc?
It sounds to me the same problem I had, I did an update but saw the phone restart and frozen on the HTC logo for over 30 minutes. I had no choice but to power the phone off.
I've tried various ways to turn the phone on (factory hardware reset), holding the camera lens and power button etc. Nothing. Is it dead? What can we do? Did you manage to power on your device Djole77?
That sounds pretty bad for you guys. If you can't get the phone into recovery mode, even after removing the battery, they may be dead.
I is possible to JTAG the HTC trophy with some soldering, which would let you recover the phone in most circumstances. However it requires voiding your warranty, opening the phone and soldering. Best leave it.
The first thing to do is take it to your carrier for warranty repairs. The mango update voids your warranty (because the carriers don't / can't support Mango yet) but if the whole phone is bricked then it shouldn't make a difference. Take it to them and don't mention the mango upgrade.
If that doesn't work, try HTC.
If that doesnt' work, and you're on Microsoft's developer network, they offer a substitutionary warranty for developers installing mango.

Dead & unresponsive 6P help.

So a couple weeks ago my Nexus 6P died.
I had just taken it off charge and it froze then just died. Became unresponsive and I can't boot it or boot it into recovery. So I have a paper weight at the moment.
Ever since, there has been a couple instances where I got the phone to boot into the Google logo and it will freeze there. Either that, or it will get into the loading animation and freeze on that. It will not turn off until I turn it off myself.
I've only been able to do this a couple times with it being on charge for an hour, unplugging it and plugging it back in whilst holding the power button. Trying to get into recovery with this method has proven unsuccessful.
When left until there is no charge on the phone, I am able to invoke the red blinking lights on the notification led by holding down the power button in any variation (e.g. vol down + power, vol up + power, etc)
The question is if anyone else has come across this issue before and if there is any fix?
I do not believe this is BLOD. Maybe fried mobo or maybe battery is bad.
I can't RMA the device back to Google as I bought the phone whilst I was working in Japan and I bought it from Google Japan and I am know back in the UK.
So they apparently follow local warranty. I've spoken to them about 3 times about this and refuse to budge. Huawei are also no help as I bought the device from overseas, they said they aren't allowed to send any devices from Asia to their UK service centre.
So I'm kinda stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some more information would be useful like do you have an unlocked bootloader and have debugging enabled?

Unfortunately I don't have the bootloader unlocked nor have I got debugging enabled (I don't think).
Its pretty much as it was outta the box. Only things I tinkered with was enabling dev options in the settings but that is as much as I've done really. But haven't messed around with any of those settings.
The device is all stock.

Did you enable OEM unlocking if you enabled Dev options?

I don't think so. Sorry, I'm not super technical.
Not wanting to make a new thread when this seems to be relevant; I appear to be experiencing the same issues as the OP.
I was at work and I noticed that my phone had switched off. I assumed it had ran flat and I hadn't noticed so plugged it in when I got home to no avail. The following day I was playing with the power button; holding it down for a period and pressing thinking it might be a loose connection and eventually it did turn back on but only for a few hours and since then the only response I get is a red LED when pressing the power/volume button whilst on charge.
I have replaced both the battery and the charging port/daughter board but this does not appear to have resolved the issue. Is there something I am missing or is my phone now a very expensive paperweight? If that is the case this will be the second Nexus device I owned which died in similar circumstances not long out of it warranty; I had a Nexus 6 which died after a year which I replaced with the 6P and it may be that the same thing has happened.
Any help, advice or suggestions anyone can give would be much appreciated!
Edit: Answering a question asked previously with regards to more information my bootloader is unlocked however I can't remember if USB debugging was enabled. I have a feeling that it is disabled as a work around for Magisk Hide and passing SafetyNet.

BLOD is a bad motherboard. If you can't access Recovery and are bootloader locked, you're at the end of the road.
Have you tried to keep it plugged in then hold the volume down button and power button at the same time, and hold it hard for a while and see if it goes to the recovery partition.
Otherwise, why don't you bring to a hardware store and talk to someone?
GLHF!:crying:
So I've spoken to Huawei on a whim and found out that my phone is under warranty so I am waiting on a return delivery envelope to go to one of their Service Centres however I would like to at least try to restore back to stock and re-lock the boot loader as I have managed on a few occasions to get the phone to boot to the 'Google' logo before it would then shut down. I have since plugged the phone in to my laptop and "QHSUSB__BULK" appears in Device Manager.
I have Wugfresh's NRT 2.1.9 but this does not pick up fastboot or adb. Is there any other tool I should be aware of or a driver I haven't got installed? Is this something anyone has come across or managed to resolve before?

Leave it just the way it is. You're stuck in QC 9008 diagnostic mode. Perfect for sending the phone back. Don't worry about it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm just waiting on them sending me the jiffy bag to send my device out to them.
I'm not holding my breath on them actually fixing or replacing it as I have done a DIY battery replacement a little while ago (though I did replace with an OEM battery) but I figure it's worth a shot and worst case scenario I'll hold out for Oct 4th and hope the Pixel 2 XL rumours are right and it will have a similar screen design to the Galaxy S8+.
I love the look of the Infinity Display but will not have a Samsung.

Final update. Apparently Huawei are struggling with a parts shortage and don't know when parts will be come available so they have offered me a "Limited Edition" Gold Mate 9. I'm not entirely happy about this arrangement as I really loved my 6P but they have had my 6P for about six weeks and I haven't had a fully working phone since August 18th so I'm left with little other choice since I can't afford the P2XL.
Thanks for your help and in general to everyone in the 6P threads who have helped me out of the past 18 months.

Completely dead?

Hi all, so my galaxy s7 edge decided to freeze today (not uncommon since I dropped it), anyway its been a little bit different as the screen turned off. Usually I just reboot using the power and vol down buttons however that's had no response, no vibrations, no lights, nothing. I've come home and looked to see whether charging has had and effect on it, it hasn't. I've tried plugging it into my laptop and the laptop doesn't recognise that anything is connected.
I'm just wondering if there's any solutions i could try before I send it somewhere to be fixed, or is it completely gone and all hope is lost?
Thanks in advance.
edit: I should add that its unrooted and not running anything custom. kept it completely stock.
take it to a licensed repair shop or if there's a Samsung customer service near your location, it's recommended to take your phone there. but don't worry about it, it's probably a little problem with battery connections and an experienced repair man can fix it without charging you lots of money. but if you can find a Samsung customer service nearby, your phone will stay waterproof. if your phone is repaired by a non-official guy, then probably you'll lose your phone's waterproofness (is it the right word?).

A BRICKED Huawei Logo

Please if you can help me answer me, this is my only phone and I need asap.
I have Huawei nova 3i, the battery has been in a bad condition for more than 4 months, and each day I noticed it had less life and a hot phone each time I charge it, one day I left it to charge and I swear it was for less than an hour I found the logo in my face, and it was stuck, I went yesterday after trying every possible way for a week of pressing power + vol down and power + vol up ( the first one made the phone keep booting again and again with the logo, and the second one made it keep vibrate with a black screen)
I let the battery drain and came back to pressing but the only thing came was the red battery meaning no power and red led light, so I got back on charger and repeated the above and nothing new came to light.
I took it to a tec center and someone said it might be battery, unfortunately I changed it for a high price and it didn't work after the change, still the exect same, I went home tried to enter erecovery multiple times but I never can, and I plugged it in a PC then a screen came to light, with the android bot and words saying in green
FRP Lock
Phone is locked
I was SO happy when finally something appeared, but again nothing I can do I pressed up down power, nothing happened in this screen too.
Please if anyone know any ANY possible way to get it back without losing data or with losing data ( but I will be much more happy if I didn't lose data I have so many files I need) kindly please just tell me, I can do it the work on a PC too just tell me the program needed and I will look it up.
I will thank u forever.
I forgot to mention that at the tec center they told me that it will need a box flash, something like miracle box maybe?
And again today I went to other tec center and he said flashing it might actually not make it work,so I'm really scared of what to do now.
What's the actual problem? The system? OS? It needs a new emui update? What exactly is the problem Does anyone know what the problem is for it to never comeback to life? Could it be in need of inside cleaning? Ugh I'm so lost
anything please
you went to official huawei center? they will not help you
go to any other 3rd party service center, and they can flash it
