Hey guys I have. A question does dash charge work in custom ROMs?

HI there,
This may seem like a silly question, but just wanted to check. I broke my wall charger, but I have an old charger for a Blackberry 8250. Can I use that to charge my HD2?
Thanks,
David
anything that offers a usb type output should be fine. Ive used several generic ones, a BB one, some garmin ones, no prob.
Thanks for the reply. Was just worried about the current output, as I checked the voltage output was the same, but current was different. Will it affect the charge time?
David
Yap. It will. As of my know, wildfire, hd7 etc have 1 amp charger. So hd2 will have same( i dont have og charger, as i bought an used hd2). And will charge the batt in 1- 1.30 hrs. So if u have a low amp charger u have to wait more. I dont recoment using a charger with more than 1amp. Coz it may damage the charging section of the main board. 700ma charger is what i got and its a blackberry one. I use it with no problms, only little more waiting for fill up.
send from my hd2 @ miui 1.12.2
Hey guys I just received my wireless charger from android central (the Zens one) and I had a question the amps and volts on the wireless charger are far off that of the nexus 4s stock charger. Does this matter as it is wireless charging and not the stock method of charging? If not how bad is this for my battery I do not want to ruin my battery as the batter is not removable. Stock android charger is 5.0 V and 1.2 A, new charger is 12 V and 1 A
Please need some serious help
From my current understand of the Qi standard, your N4 will tell the pad what voltage it should get and the pad will send it at what is needed for your device. Plus I think I have seen people post videos of using the Zens brand charger with the N4 with no problems.
Some schematics and more info if you are curious.

******Sorry.. Should Have Posted This In Question & Answer Section*******
Hey guys.
I was wondering if their is a kernel that support USB Fast Charging.
I have a Pioneer AppRadio which connects via MHL to mirror my phone to the radio in the car.
The phone loses a great amount of battery through this even though the MHL is powered.
However the phone sees the MHL as a USB charging device and therefore limits charging to 500ma which sucks.
Other phones have kernel support for USB fast charging and they can charge at the rate of 1000ma - 2000ma so that they can charge the phone and use MHL.
Someone please help me solve this problem.
Thanks!

Their is not.
SpeedMod charges faster than the stock kernel.
Actually NX kernel supports that.
I do not beleive it supports mhl though.
And its for cm 10.1

Not sure if there was fast charge in NX tweaks app. Just to control the current..
It is possible to charge faster, but I prever not too, It produces more heat and can damage your device.
NX-Kernel by Neo allows you to do that.
I think this only works with the 230V/115V charger, computers can't charge faster than 500mA, USB 2.0 doesn't allow you to charge with a higher current.
Thanks for the replies..
So why is it that other phones have Fast Charge kernels but the Note does not (okay only 1 CM kernel) ?
Can any devs support this?

Note is doomed from the very beginning...
So let's make this very clear. The Galaxy Note can (and will) use more power than it can ever draw from the charger ?
Doesn't the official charger somehow trick the device into using the full 1 Amp of current instead of the half amp ?
Hi, so.. I forgot my charger at work.. and everyone around me use iphones and I have to charge my phone
I found an old samsung galaxy 1 charger, and so far it's charging pretty good..
but I want to make sure that it's safe. do you guys know if using a samsung charger can do any damage to my battery?
I also have dorimanx kernel forcing fast charge mode.
thanks in advance.

Nope, it's fine. It might charge slower, but the voltage will be the same. A non-android compatible charger will only charge at 500mAh due to the way Android determines USB vs AC charging, that's really the only difference you'll ever see on such a charger beyond the capacity of the charger itself, which would just manifest itself as slower charging.
So, out of no where for no reason that I know of, my Moto mod battery has begun charging without the standard provided charger. I welcome this! Now I can actually use my old useful chargers at work and not have to buy a new one just for work like I was going to.
