I'm on OS 9.0.2 (T-Mobile) but notice there's two stock camera upgrades from my current 2.9.43 version. The latest is version 3.0.15. I can't seem to find any info as to what these latest camera updates include. Anyone have any information? I don't want to install the latest apk if it's not intended for OS 9.0.2.

Google camera legacy i.e. version 2.
Google camera version 3 and above are not compatible with athene you'll need a compatible device like nexus or pixel to use newer versions of google camera.
I am not aware of any patched/modified or ported versions which works with athene but legacy version 2.7.010 works excellent with almost all the roms. You can download GoogleCam_Legacy zip from this link https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9tngVBGIajVT0c1RjN3bjdPYTQ and flash it in twrp

I do not believe that Athene is limited to 2.7.XXX. I've used the ARM version of Google 4.X (not sure which it was) and it's worked well. It's only from 4.3 that there's only ARM64 builds.
So, respectfully, I think you can safely use up to 4.2, albeit a modded APK.

Yes I have myself used version 4.2.x on AOSiP 5.8 https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72036148&postcount=100
But something has changed and now version 3 and above doesn't work it will force close/crash.
Earlier even appropriate opengapps package used to flash v4.2.x but now it flashes legacy version (below v3).

Also is the battery life okay? I notice a strong difference between Sense roms and AOSP roms, would like to know if this one works fine.
After testing the rom it looks pretty good. But there are no gapps preinstalled and speakerphone bug is present like in all N roms.
Gets very hot, and why is the sound worse then the stock firmware? Where is the google store? I dont have youtube app. Hopefully it will all be upgraded.
Do you mean by staying up to date that off the statistics your device will every time update? And later a release will be compiled? Because I keep hearing cracks. Or just a release will be compiled?
I would like to update my S4 to Lineage OS 14.1 and I have an older version of TWRP 2.8.4.0 recovery on my phone. What is the best way to upgrade to the newer ROM? Do I need to update TRWP recovery in order to install Lineage OS 14.1 or will it work with the older version? Its been a while since updating my phone could you someone point me in the right direction.

I've tried updating to a newer version of twrp via the app store and downloading the new update. For some reason when I browse from the file from twrp cannot find the img file. Any idea of why this is, I save files to specific directory where I can find them.

FYI I set it and forget it and try to update to the latest greatest yearly.
I am under the impression that there is no active maintainer for lineageOS however it appears to have forked.

Android security patch date : January 1,2019
Caution : In order to avoid various problems with the device, developers recommend to wait for the release version of the update, because in this version there may be various kinds of bugs/errors!

From side of meizu, android version will not be updated, but flyme 8 will contain all the features of latest android version. Only phones released this year will get android upgrades. So our phone still lives in 7.Yes upgrades to global might be late. It is dead before, but now may be updates might come after 7.3 A stable released. Change to A version if you can.Hope u understand it.

I have a ZTE Axon 7 (model A2017G) android version 7.1.1, build ZTE A2017GV1.2B10, Kernel 3.18.31, european version
I'm looking for what is the best android version for this phone currently, in terms of performance and features. Also a safe version without malware spyware ect
With the version I have it can be slow with apps and miss many feature for instance i can't block a caller etc not sure why i installed it from package i got here.
I'm not looking for last android version or anything just the one that will make the phone best perform. It's from 2017 after all.

I would recommend updating to official 8.0 version B04. Works well and is an improvement over 7.1

Where can I find this version to download? Do disable encryption for TWRP work in that version? I couldn't disable it in B02 Oreo version no matter which method I tried :/
