Best compatible version of google camera - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

what is the latest compatible version of googlecamera for moto g4 plus ? i would like to install without root..
any possibility guys ?

Google camera legacy i.e. version 2.
Google camera version 3 and above are not compatible with athene you'll need a compatible device like nexus or pixel to use newer versions of google camera.
I am not aware of any patched/modified or ported versions which works with athene but legacy version 2.7.010 works excellent with almost all the roms. You can download GoogleCam_Legacy zip from this link https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9tngVBGIajVT0c1RjN3bjdPYTQ and flash it in twrp

I do not believe that Athene is limited to 2.7.XXX. I've used the ARM version of Google 4.X (not sure which it was) and it's worked well. It's only from 4.3 that there's only ARM64 builds.
So, respectfully, I think you can safely use up to 4.2, albeit a modded APK.

Yes I have myself used version 4.2.x on AOSiP 5.8 https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72036148&postcount=100
But something has changed and now version 3 and above doesn't work it will force close/crash.
Earlier even appropriate opengapps package used to flash v4.2.x but now it flashes legacy version (below v3).

MIUI 8
There are several problems with this base ROM:
It's built for ARM64, and, while our devices support it, Motorola have decided that it's better to run 32bit Android (don't know why but ok)
Its base is Android 4.4 KitKat. The G4 Play ships with 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
A much better choice would be the Moto G3 (2015)'s MIUI ROM here (base 6.0.1/CM13, 1GB RAM/8GB storage variant) since it is based on Marshmallow and runs 32-bit. I have tried to port it but it is stuck on the boot logo.

Thank you, I will definitely try, but it probably won't succeed because it is based on 5.1.1 while the Moto G4 Play ships with 6.0.1. I will let you know if it works.

{GIUDE} HYDROGEN OS 3.0 [Oneplus 3/3T] Installation/ Quick guide

An update to the H2OS out after a long time. The alternative ROM for the OnePlus devices is now updated to the version 3.0. The Hydrogen OS is mostly designed for the Chinese variants of the Oneplus devices. However, the H2OS 3.0 can also be installed on a regular or international variant of the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. The ROM brings many new features.
As the Hydrogen OS is a firmware for the Chinese variant, it doesn’t come with the Google Apps pre-installed. You will need to install it separately. Fortunately, we already have a Google play store installed APK which can easily install the Google Play Services onto your Android device.

Will all the US bands be enabled with Hydrogen OS?
Hi, can anyone using a US OnePlus 3T confirm whether the US version of OnePlus 3T with Hydrogen OS will have the exact same bands enabled as the US version using Oxygen OS? I want to be as Google-free as possible and starting with a manufacturer-supported Google-free ROM like H2OS sounds like a good way to go.
I'm open to other ways to accomplish this but simpler is better for me. Finally moving away from Windows Phone, and yes I know, why would you want Android if you don't want Google? Answer, pathetically trying to cling to ownership of my personal data and can't afford the next best OEM privacy option, the iPhone (which isn't a great privacy option either). Thx!

I've been down this path too many times. It's doable but not easy. First, scrap H2OS since Playstore is preinstalled. I'd go with either a lineage based Rom or Freedom OS (OOS with the option to leave all google and OP Apps out on Installation). Just don't flash Gapps after the Rom.
But thats really the easy part. The hard part is the setup. First, you'd need to sideload at least a browser. Get the browser apk of your choice from a reputable source (xda labs is great. It even manages Updates for you). Depending on the apps you need, you'll need some playstore alternative. Some things can be had through xda-labs. If Open Source is your thing, f-droid is great too. Just don't download apk's from somewhere on the web. Your privacy might be more at risk than with google on it.
Also, get a vcard backup of your contacts (or run your own carddav server). Finally, some apps simply won't run without google framework (that's why it's back on my phone). For example "Bring", a shopping list, won't run without google framework. Don't ask me why. But i need that app. Just be prepared for some major inconveniences, and having to find workarounds... :good:
Thanks for the great input domsch1988. You've given me exactly the tips I need to get started. One question though. You mentioned Playstore is preinstalled on H2OS. I was under the impression the main difference between H2OS and OOS was H2OS's removal of all Google specific stuff to meet China's Google restrictions. I assumed that included Playstore. Are you sure it's in there? I only ask because I'd rather start with a OnePlus supported ROM if I can but if that's not the case I'll take the leap and go with one of the ROMs you suggest. Can you recommend a lineage-based ROM I can start with? And, do you have an opinion on microG as a Play framework replacement? It seems like a good idea in theory but the way it's implemented gives me some security concerns.

OP stated that PlayStore APK is preinstalled. I have not tried h2os, so can't say for sure. You could give it a try. And with root you can always uninstall system apps.
I never tried microg myself. For me it was always no g at all or the pico Gapps package.
As a lineage based ROM, on my note 4 resurrection remix was great. On the 3t I'm on stock oos, so not sure.
Play store or anything Google is not installed on H2OS
i am using it currently tried to go without play store and other apps for one day but couldn't deal with all the Chinese apps so, installed OOS although everything could have been installed on H2OS also.

SM-T560 Lolipop

Hi guys! GSM Arena says that this tablet comes with Android 5.1 a.k.a Lollipop. My Tab E is 4.4.4 a.k.a KitKat. Sammobile has no Android 5 or later version for this model.
Is there any particular reason to go custom or not? Thanks.
That's because they're listing both the international and the US version. The US model has a Snapdragon 410 cpu, and received a Lollipop update. I'm not sure why they left out the majority of Tab E users, because performance-wise, the international Spreadtrum T560 model is even a tiny bit better, at least compared to a Galaxy A5 2015 with SD 410 chipset.

The Spreadtrum-based T560 is a fair bit slower than the Qualcomm-based T560NU. The T560NU and 8-inch Galaxy Tab A have the same hardware (other than screen resolution) so if you look at a page such as this, anywhere you see "Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8" you can assume the T560NU would perform the same.
Performance differences aside, I can only guess that Spreadtrum never updated their code for anything above Kitkat. I guess they're about as reliable as MediaTek as far as updates go.
T561m
I have a t561m that also stayed in Kitkat. A feather. Also I can not find another Rom to update.

Doesn't look like any are for the T560NU. The one for CM13 comes closest, labeled as "gtelwifi", but that's not the T560NU. The others look (by name) even further off the mark.
SHHHH... I can´t believe that. I´ve been struggeling with that for years. Trying to update my old TABE 9.6 SM-T560 to some newer Android than 4.4 KitKat. I need to run a certain app on it, that supports 5.0 and newer only. I´ve used this rom "And here is cm 13 running marshmallow 6.0.1"
And it works like magic. With gapps 6.0 pico - I can even get to the play store. Unbelievable!!!!
Thanks a ton!!!! Heaven on earth!

can confirm 14.1 nougat works with T560 (getlwifi) tho it shows as model T561 in sysinfo, only gripe is recent apps button no work & RAM has decreased a whopping 1 Gb, use proper TWRP & don't LET TWRP flash SuperSU flash the zip yourself from within twrp.
pico 7.1 gapps is required for cm 14.1
edit: been using for 2/3 months, most stable, no complaints.

Is there a way to get the google camera app on the s8+ ?
Yes you can install the apk but you have to go back to the last 7.0 compitable version. The newer versions for 7.1 won't work. This is the version I'm using on my S8:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/camera-4-1-006-135988111-release/
U can try the the camera nx. (V5.4 and under, Android 7.0+, ARM 64. ( currently, V4+ will only works on 7.1.1 DP1 , 7.1 custom rom users can find solution below. Android 7.0 users please choose the No ZSL version)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...d-google-camera-4-2-nexus-5x-android-t3477980
The non zsl version is working for me(taking normal photo), the rest I have not tested.

Where can I find this version to download? Do disable encryption for TWRP work in that version? I couldn't disable it in B02 Oreo version no matter which method I tried :/
