Is anyone else having issues with the 6P or just Marshmallow in general of not being able to connect to any wifi?
think that means connected to network but no internet available
Did you try connecting to a different Wifi network and see if you are having the same issue? I did not see an issue. Might be your router or modem is blocking internet access for your device.

Yes, I tried connecting to multiple wifi networks and it's showing the same thing: "connected, no internet". When I try with another device or laptop, it connects fine to all those wifi networks. It's just my Nexus 5 and 6P running Marshmallow.
I searched around and tried to use a static IP, also changed the frequency band from automatic to 2.4 GHz. Nothing works.
Go to Backup and reset and try a reset on network settings and see if that resolves the issue.
OK, this is interesting. I just found out from a colleague of mine (I'm currently traveling in China), that this is basically saying you are connected to the Internet, but just not to any of the Google services. I just checked and it seems everything pretty much works, except I can't access gmail, Facebook, etc. anything that's blocked by the Great Firewall of China.
Dial *#*#4636#*#* on your phone and select phone information & select run ping test and see if it pings google services. It should have been defaulted to Google, atleast it is on myn.
I'm running into the same issue, but I'm in the US. No WiFi network works. And I don't actually have internet.
The odd thing is all my other devices connect to the networks just fine.
I already tried resetting network settings, and rebooting in safe mode, to no avail. I even reset my router to stock and reconfigured.
Anyone else having similar issues?

Nexus 6 WiFi and Internet trouble too...
I have a rooted nexus 6.01 (rooted about a week ago), was working perfectly until last night...
I initially looked at Instagram and noticed pics were not loading... Other devices worked fine... Rebooted router...
Anyway... My phone has Internet atm but with exclamation mark next to WiFi. I get same problem with 2.5ghz and 5ghz.
Instagram not loading any pics
Facebook says no Internet
Google Play Store seems quite slow at loading pics
Strava not loading map pics
Imdb not loading pics
Basically... Apps seem to be having pic loading problems
Anyways... Technical info...

Oh bottom wrong nexus model... I'm sorry... Didn't notice ?
Sorted it... was my wifi... I changed the channel settings to Auto Performance, then back to Auto Compatibility, and all working again now
Wanted to add for what it's worth: I had the exclamation point on any wifi I connected to and fixed the exclamation point by disabling Adblock Plus.
I've been getting the WiFi exclamation point also. Would AdBlock Plus cause that?

yes ad block was causing it for me too.
i disabled ad blocking from the app, froze the app from titanium backup, removed root access to adblockplus from super su and rebooted and everything is working fine now
Same problem here.
Hard reset and nothing.
The weird thing is that in my house works just fine (5 ghz)

Nexus 6p in China
I am in China. 6P wifi / internet hook up worked fine with Comcast in the US. When I arrived in China I could connect to wifi but it reported no internet access. Went to a Huawei store and they tried hooking up to their local wifi. Same thing - no internet access but connection to wifi made. They sent me to a Huawei testing center 10 minutes away. Got there, the same thing. They could connect with their local wifi but no internet interface. Then they told me they had no permissions to work this phone because it was not authorized inside China. I asked if they could research why it the internet won't connect. They put in a Chinese sim card. WHAM - They could log into the wifi and get internet. Next I tried VPN to see if there was some kind of work around but no avail - VPN needs the internet. The best thing I could I could was to call my service provider to bump up my roaming data speed (Be careful about roaming plan you have - cost $$$$). I have minimal internet access through phone but its not blocked - I can get google.

Try clearing your play store data and play services data and see if it helps. No problem here. I usually get 5MBps(equivalent to 40Mbps) on my 50Mbps connection.

Not working stills slow
is there no solution for this?
Me too facing this problem and I can be sure that the problem is with my phone and not router or internet connection as I simultaneously checked with 2 other devices on my same WiFi it's super fast only mi a1 lags behind on 600 KBps. I even tried factory data reset but no luck. Hoping some kind of solution from the developers.

no one is providing any solution for this they said this not a problem:crying:
cuz it's not related to the device as far as i know.play store just crap out sometimes . its more related to your ISP. try your friend's wifi.
try changing DNS to google (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) and clearing play store cache.

what about mobile data?
did u try opendns, change dns in your router settings and restart .
also forget all wifi on mobile and reconnect.
this is all i can think of , for me it was dns server used by my isp creating problems.
are you on latest oreo with latest play store and play services my opo behaves like this when its not up to date.

Did you try using play store on custom rom.
you can contact google play support directly, see if they can pin point the exact problem.
try using your phone on safe mode. it's a long shot but might help in diagnosing the problem.
I think no solution for mi A1 is just ****
the problem lies with the google servers in your area. I tried every solution here, and many others, none worked. my android boxes did not have a problem with updates, youtube or any google services. looking to see what was different on the boxes, I was using a VPN, and the server was located in NY, I live in Illinois. ran the VPN on my phone and tablet, changed the server to NY, and both now download as fast as ever, and youtube buffering is gone.
I think Xiaomi do it to make people use Xiaomi's app store. I saw a message on my phone said that I can use their app store to download apps faster than I do it via Play Store. The message was shown to me when I used Play Store.
Tethering via usb / wifi / bluetooth does not work. I am on stock 8.1.0. Has anybody any similar experience?
I have already restarted from factory and nothing changes, before the July update all was working great.
And I suppose you can connect with other device and load a page properly.
In my case I tested my laptop with another MIUI 8 phone and it worked great.
The A1 is still not working.
Same here. Cannot use my TomTom GPS any more to get online traffic data over Bluetooth. As soon as the GPS wants to connect to internet, my mi a1 Bluetooth crashs and tethering is disabled.
Others report same issues in German forums.

I still hope that this issue will be fixed in one of the next updates. If I'm to optimistic I have a prepaid SIM lying around and perhaps I put it into an old mobile phone and use it just for bluetooth tethering in my car.

Hi. I'm currently experiencing a weird issue with my phone and wondered if I was alone.
So basically, over some wifi, some stuff behaves in a weird way. For example, Ebay, Twitter and LPMobile (local french news app) can't download images. Also, Clash Royale can't update and i have issues connecting games to Google Play Games. This bug only occurs on my home network tho. Everything works just fine on Mobile Data and some other wifi connections (School, Work...) I believe the problem is somewhat linked to software since i had this issue on my older phone (Honor 7x). I believe it is linked to the Packet flooding Issue back in January of this year. However, I tried installing many different versions of Google Play Services on my device and nothing changed.
Does anyone experience this issue?
My home Router is a Linksys EA7500 Max-Stream, if this can help.
Thank you!
It appears I am having similar issue when I am on wifi. Facebook, Instagram will not load pictures and new posts.
Have you resolved your issue?

No, I haven't resolved it, tho from what I tried, it seems to be linked to my router. What's your router?

From what you have described this seems to be an issue with your WiFi connection at home and not the phone. I would reset the router and see if that resolved your issue.
I have a similar issue. I own both a 6 and 6t - the 6 no issues gets on wifi just fine but the 6t? Not so much. I will connect up all day long to 2.4Ghz wireless and get on the internet but if I put it on 5Ghz (which all my stuff uses) it connects, get an ip but will go no where on the internet. It's like it has no DNS or something. Frustrating as hell. I opened a support ticket with OnePlus and they told me to send it back. (PS I tired all the fixes, router reboot, forget network, I even tried a factory data reset...nothing same behavior).
Wifi dropping issue
Same issue with my 6t. Frist oneplus devide and disappointed. It's been weeks i havent used my device.. because wifi doesont works..
It's anyone using Private DNS with cloudflare? That gave me issues with my wifi at work until I disabled it. It didn't give me problems anywhere else though.
my wifi works great; most likely, those that are having wifi problems have issues with their router/modem/isp;
usually, its not the phone where the wifi problem is..

I updated my phone to android 9 pie yesterday and when I tried opening Netflix it started giving error messages such as restart the app. After restarting the app the message changes to restart the device which also didn't work. I cleared all the data after force closing the app but to no avail. I then uninstalled Netflix and tried to reinstall it but guess what it didn't show up on play store. I then tried googling for Netflix app and from there I opened the play store link which showed that Netflix is not compatible with my device.
I contacted Netflix they said Netflix app is not compatible with latest android which I think is not correct as one of my friend is using Netflix on android pie device. Let me know if anyone else is also facing this issue.
I've just tried it on my phone. First run gave me some "device error" and app closed. When I opened it again, I logged in and am able to play a movie without problems. I'm rooted with Magisk and hiding Magisk from Netflix, not sure if it makes any difference.
Download and install it from apkmirror.com
For me, it does not work anymore in wifi at home (fttc, about 33 mb/s), but it works on 4g and even 3g, and it works at a friend's place with WiFi (connection fttc about 80 mb/s). Amazon prime video, Italian Infinity TV and other streaming services do work properly.

Same here. Got error 'device error' a few times. Then the app restarted and I had to login again. Then it worked.
I guess it is their DRM that gets confused about Android getting an update.

It seems to be dependent on the network. For me, at home the Netflix app displays its content, but as I try to watch a movie it is stuck forever, and is OK in 4g. If, from the preferences, I test the network, it says that "Netflix Android Server" is unreachable (OK in 4g). From the WiFi at work, everything is OK. From a friend's WiFi, it's OK. Of course all other streaming video app I have (e.g. Amazon Prime Video) work correctly everywhere. It seems to be a problem where local network configuration and provider play a role.
At home, I should try to connect to the network via an USB-Ethernet adapter (I have one which work with Android) and see what happens: if it works, it is a WiFi problem, otherwise it's a problem with the router or the provider.
Another thing to do would be to observe the actual (attempted) exchange between the phone and this "Netflix Android Server" using some network analyzer, and see what happens.

right now i'm having a chat with the netflix customer service. they are trying to figure it out too.
seems funny, because i have flashed back to stock oreo, used the same wifi, and loaded netflix. no problem.
i used pixel experience rom, same wifi, no problem too.
i revert back to stock January pie update, and it just wont log me in. if i use 4g to login, it will be stuck when loading the video stream,
add MSS clamping to the router settings

Hi
I also upgraded my mobile from 8.1 to 9 with january patch and saw that netflix no longer working when over WiFi. So i searched over Internet and saw somewhere a post saying we should enable MSS clamping in the router, i Think this was on a DD-WRT forum.
I have a Ubiquity ER-X as soon as i enabled this on my router netflix worked again. So have a look at the router settings
nevertheless something changed indeed in the System of Android Pie that messes up probably the TCP protocol
Hope this helps you also

HEY GUYS I THINK OUR VOICES HAVE BEEN HEARD!
after tirelessly searching the internet to this exact problem i have been facing, someone has brought up this issue to the devs at Google, it was something in Android P causing this problem with WiFi.
here you guys can read about the details here, not only Mi devices are affected, other android one devices also do too.
https://piunikaweb.com/2019/01/16/n...phone-with-wifi-android-pie-could-be-culprit/
so i guess we can wait for a update fix soon
Lowering the MTU size from 1488 (the default) to 1480 on my router appeared to "solve" the problem almost instantly.
For reference, I followed the steps detailed both in How to find the proper MTU size on D-Link router? and in the user manual, which boil down to:
Run ping to determine the maximum packet size by trial and error:
Code:
ping -f -l size
. In my case, the optimal size was 1460.
Determine the MTU size as packet size + 28 = 1460 + 28 = 1488.
Set a sligthly lower MTU value in the router configuration.
