Had anyone here faced such similar problem? On my G7 I have such bug, but I refuse to hard reset . Maybe it'll come back after reset
Maybe there's some solution or maybe some one knows what app is the source of this bug?
These are different phones. Have you posted in the G7 forum?
I had this issue on my g6. Wiped it completely and did a clean install of latest stock ROM. Fixed it and now I have no issues.

Try to clear data and cache of the settings app, also G6 != G7.

I rebooted in safe mode. In this mode settings work just fine. I cleared cache of settings but AFAIR it won't let me clear data neither in safe nor in normal mode.
G6 != G7 , but, well, LG phones have much more in common than differences. Anyway, guy quoted below had the same bug in G6

Yeah, that's what I still refuse to do. But it seems that eventually I'll do it, but not before my G7 would have get Pie. While it's on Oreo I let it keep crashing.
Anyways, it's LG big issue, to have such a HUGE bug in their ROM. Settings in fact is probably one of most used app on a phone. And it's lame to have bugs in such fundamental soft for such a flagship company. I never had such bug in any of my 6 LG models be4
Just a thought... Do you by any chance have a port of gcam 6.1+ installed? On my G6 h870 certain versions of the port caused settings to crash constantly.

Mate, where were you so long? You're soooo helpful. Uninstalled Gcams and problem is now gone. I believed that someone will fix my porblem and you make it.
Well, it must be widespread problem considering how many people keep installing GCams and yet seems as no one knows about it. Strange IMHO

I searched the internet and saw many people who have that problem on 4.2.2 but never on LG G2. I have that error sometimes but after a restart the camera works again. Any way to solve this? What is causing this problem? Software or hardware? Does anybody have that problem on this phone? I'm on europe open d80210a software. Thanks!
Only experienced this on Stock-ROMs. CM never had this problem afaik (at least not me when I was on CM), so I'd guess it's software-related.

That is strange, stock rom suppose to be the most stable, am I wrong?
Is it possible that I'm the only one with that problem?

No, you are not the only one. I have the same issue ad I have to restart the phone to get camera works. Also, I searched internet and seems other LG G2 users have the same issue.

I looked the internet too but did not find anything about that problem with LG G2
I found that if I had snapchat open on the camera and locked my screen it would give me this error and I would have to restart, maybe it's happening in other apps that use your camera?
Hi,
The problem here is related to camera, not with my phone, but my cousin's one, whenever he switches to 240 fps video recording, the phone crashes, forcing him to reboot.
As regarding my 6P, I'd never faced such issue. I looked online, and found few people complaining about it, many of them considered replacing the defective unit. *which is difficult in my country*
Does anyone here have any kind of solution for such problem? :crying:

I'm sure it's the latest version.
But it's a used phone *almost new* and he did factory reset before doing anything.
Mine used to crash like that but now does not, always been totally stock, on Feb. update.

So, it had been resolved by Feb update?
Check Apps
I had same issue.
The reaqson was in LiveWallpaper which crashed device camera.
Another one had this issue because of one static wallpaper.
Check your apps & walppapers. You also may try to turn on Safe Mode to exclude 3rd party apps from loading.

Waouuuuuuu....
Never seen that before.
Backup, flash new firmware and reboot.
If problem still present, it's a material problem.
Good luck mate

Seems to be a standard problem. I have it too.
Internet forums are full of this problem.
Buy another phone than Samsung.

I've seeb it alot actually. I mean the wake up problem. But noone seems to fix it yet. If anyone did please tell me
Has anyone test this with older Android 5?
The "Weird" Screen in Low Brightness is AMOLED Burn-in due to intensive use, My S5 Have this problem too.
Try changing the HW overlay / Force GPU rendering in developer options, others have said that works for them, it seemed to for me also but only temporarily. I have had to stop using auto brightness.
Device not waking up is very irritating, even double tap the screen to wake has the same problem, doesn't seem to be the buttons themselves. If you have a custom rom or other way to set double pressing the power button to launch the camera it works as a workaround for me.
Thank you for all the answers guys.

Flashed Wanted ROM, it's still the same. It was better at start tho and somehow it freezes less in battery saving mode.

Greetings and salutatorians,
I noticed some odd behavior on my Moto X Pure today. I go to Settings and instead of giving the usual list it by itself goes straight to Storage, thus prohibiting me from accessing all the other settings. I can hit the back arrow and by hit and miss blindly select something other than Storage, but of course this does little other than make me want to break something or at least curse vehemently.
Has any one else seen this? I'm baffled by it. Stock ROM, rooted with TWRP. No problems whatsoever until now. Tanks many.
I haven't seen that but since you have TWRP, go in and clear cache to see of that fixes thing.

Boot into Safe Mode and test it... if it still does it I would try a factory reset, if it no longer does that you have an app that is "misbehaving" somehow.

Good call, acejavelin. My initial thought was the trouble might well be due to an app being obnoxious, but it didn't occur to me to boot into Safe Mode. I think in all the years I've owned an Android device I've needed to boot to Safe Mode all of half a dozen times.
Sure enough, when I did so the Settings worked as one would expect. So then, no real worries. I'm not going to tire myself hunting down said app. It will likely resolve itself in time.
Your help is appreciated.
with February security patch.
new fix bugs?
What's changed, i don't know. Can someone explain?

Apps can now deleted from menu (earlier - only via draggin on home screen and then delete)
camera still works without drm keys?
sure
hello, how about battery drain after the latest update? I just saw a video recommending to do not update to Pie, because many features of Oreo and Nougat are gone and functions are limited, and a battery life is reduced. the review was made few months ago, though. are there any major changes with following updates? do you recommend to update? thank you.
Hi, what do you all think of the new Pie update?
What happens if, for once, there is a system update notification, it is being ignored and nothing done?
My first smartphone being HTC, then switching to Samsung twice, i don't recall getting system update notifications every now & then from the mentioned brands.
yesterday I have updated to this version via OTA.
today I notice GPS does not work (tested with Maps and GPS test).
does anyone have experienced this issue?
Not going to update my XZ1 to Pie. It seems Google has disabled third party call recording apps such as ACR within Pie. This functionality is very important to me in my work. So unless I'm going to root my phone in order to get around this I can't use call recording app. This is a major to me and many many others.

I got four darker spots on camera - two are darker and two are barely noticeable. At first I thought it was a hardware issue (dirty lens or faulty sensor), but I found, that this happened to some of the different Xperia phone users before after a software update. Can anyone else confirm that?
Just updated. GPS and camera are fine and everything seems really quick. Or maybe that's because I just rebooted and I don't do that so often
