I have a lot of update getting rolled out every now and then by Asus for this phone and after downloading then i saw it mostly for Asus_X01BD. So here is my question whats the difference between Asus_X01AD, ASUS_X01BD and Asus_X01BAD. and if someone has link to the latest update for ASUS_X01AD please post it link!!

Just seen that Asus has updated Frimware on 09 Nov. Seems like nobody started discussion about the same.
Here are details:
Description ASUS ZenFone 2=ZE551ML(Z00AD/Z00ADA/Z00ADB/Z00ADC) software Image: V4.21.40.184 for WW SKU only* (andriod M)
Improvement Item:
1)Improve system stability
2)Improve bluetooth stability
3)Improve ZenMotion related issue
Steps of Update:
1. Check software version of your device**
2. Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
3. Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, .
4. Software update cannot transfer the software SKU and downgrade the software version.
5. Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.

This firmware seem to finally solve battery drain. As for now, it seems the best I had on my ZF2. Very recommended!

i have rooted allmy devices, my zenfone was rooted until upgrade to MM, but now im having seriuos headache rooting marsmallow, bricked my phon two or three times

Please suggest any idea (method) how to unlock bootloader for this framework. Iam not able to unlock it with previous unoffmethod.ASAP
I can't post a link because I just made this account but I was on the ASUS website on their support page for the ZC520TL Zenfone 3 Max, under Utitlities I noticed an unlock bootloader tool for Android 7.0 uploaded on the 2nd of August.
Is that what that is?

It is supposed to unlock the bootloader of those devices but still there is no one yet that came out and say it works that i know of
i tried and it failed maybe it will take more time for it to do what is supposed to do since some connections to Asus servers are required
The tool that was posted on August 2 is useless, it simply reboots the device and does nothing. The zentalk forums has a lot of requests for them to fix it

Hi all,
I have confusion on asus zenfone max pro current build when i got the phone i got an ota update of 123 mb with build number 14.2016.1804.252.Where as i got mail from flipkart with ota build of size 1.3gb which states camera improvement with build number 14.2015.1802.252.
Which is the latest build i have already installed 14.2016.1804.252 in my phone when i try to install ota from Flipkart by placing it in my internal storage phone is not detecting it for installation.
Any one please help!!!!!!

the email that you got from flipkart contains the full rom.
the ota update that you got on your phone just contains the changed files in the new build.
so you are on the latest build.

If you are on the very first build you will get 318 then 327or337
But you surely can jump from any lower build to whatever the latest is...
Don't try to revert can't say about that but you can surely jump over lower to higher
Asus started to rollout pie update for max pro m2 but also it rolled back the update after many users reported several bugs. Since then it's been two weeks but i haven't received any further update yet. Has, anyone received the pie update in India again after the rollback.

The new update has been released man. Wait for it or manually update by downloading zip file from official asus website

I've downloaded new update firmware (1.6GB) from official site & when trying to update it gives ERROR and restarts into Oreo.
Then I try after Editing the "updater-script" but the result is same.

I'm done. I just flash the latest firmware from asus website. and the recovery seems to be like the build of the firmware. thanks to all of you guys
