vowifi issues on 9.0.1? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

is anyone else having issues with vowifi on 9.0.1? as soon as i turn it on and switch to wifi preferred, it keeps dropping every few seconds. the vowifi logo goes away and the carrier text changes from "tmobile wifi calling" to "tmobile," then after a few seconds or minutes it comes back. then it drops again. then it comes back. lather, rinse, repeat. it won't ever stay connected...OP support is useless, they had me do a network reset (which didn't fix it) and a factory reset (which won't fix it, because i just did one this morning when i upgraded to begin with)...anyone have any ideas?

I had same issue as your. I'm on open beta 24 with polish carrier Orange. I've switched priority to volte and it's working fine. Probably it's Pie problem.

Losing Service After 1-2 mins

I have an SGH-I337M on the Bell network. After a flight, I took the phone off of airplane mode and it did not regain service. After a restart service reconnected (data and texting) but then disappeared after a minute. Generally, I do not get "No Service" errors and I have never gotten "SIM Card Removed", the bars and LTE in the corner persist although nothing seems to come through. I did some searching and found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/help/service-problem-i337mvlufni2-t2977997
and gave the instructions a shot. I was able to use data and text for about 5 minutes initially, but since the first boot it has reverted to the original problem (coincidence?). I also took the phone in to a repair shop and had the SIM tray replaced, which did not solve the problem either. I have tried using ODIN to return to stock (I337MVLUFNI2_I337MOYAFNI2_BMC) and have tried CM11 and unofficial lollipop releases. The issue is identical in all cases.
I'm really hoping I missed something obvious here.
Thoughts?

Tested my SIM in another phone and it worked perfectly. Tested different SIM in this phone, same issues.
Bump.
The same issue here. The service/network is lost a few minutes after reboot. When I reboot my phone everything works perfectly fine - call, sms, switching to airplane mode, navigating through Mobile Networks menu items (in Settings->Connections->More Networks->Mobile Networks). After 5 minutes all those features/apps stop working. Everything looks normal but when I start one of those apps, the app hangs/freezes and stays frozen. For example when I try to place a call, the app is stuck in 'Dialing....' process and stays like that forever. When I try to end the call the app is not responding. The same thing with all apps that need/use network. All those apps stay frozen when started. Notification bar is showing I am connected to the network and network icon is showing strong signal. I tried different roms including stock rom but that didn't help. Looks like a software issue but I could be wrong.
Any suggestions anyone?

Signal Issue

http://imgur.com/OXM5Xii
Is this a signal issue? I had MMS issues from before. I decided to do a factory data reset. Then this signal/wifi combo on the top right showed up in the photo listed on imgur. Or is this a bug? My wifi has been bad recently to add to it. No download booster or dev settings for aggressive handoff either. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I noticed this on the first day I had my device (Wifi and LTE active at same time). Thereafter it went away. It may be that, on initial boot (or after factory reset), phone is communicating with network to send device info and status (IMEI, etc) to TMo. Once that's done, the simultaneous icons stop. Just a theory.
It comes and goes for me. I did two resets because of a phone dialer issue after using package disable pro.
you might want to chill on that PDP for now, until you get things sorted.
I've also seen the LTE icon pop-up on occasion while on WiFi. It seems to happen when the phone has been sitting awhile and I turn the screen on.

Wi-Fi calling not working on LG G6

I'm on Rogers Canada and have their device.
Set up everything correctly by doing the setup and got an SMS notification that the wifi calling is active.
When I turn on wifi calling it says enabling for about 2 minutes and then it says enabled. However it doesn't actually work. I never get a wifi calling icon in status bar.
Called Rogers they said everything is good on their end.
Tired different wifi network and even a factory reset but no luck.
Any other suggestions?

Have you tried to test wifi calling? What kind of statusbar icon are you looking for? Just wondering whether it's really not working, or you are just not seeing it because the indication is subtle.
I was all ready to say "I have AT&T and enough dead spots at my house that I can verify it works well." But now that I am looking, I am seeing some strange behavior I have never noticed before.
First of all some terms / definitions. On the AT&T variant (Rogers might be different) you will get a special icon next to the "AT&T" in the notification bar, which is a little handset with a wifi icon, when you have an active wifi call. When you have wifi calling turned on, the normal wifi meter changes only slightly to one with a little + on it.
I had wifi off and toggled it on in order to see those icons so I could properly describe them here. I just had the normal wifi icon. I made a call, and it did not indicate it was using wifi calling. But after I hung up I had the wifi+ icon and the next call did indicate wifi calling. I repeated this process several times with the same result, even waiting 5-10 minutes to see if it became enabled on its own after some time. Now, since I always normally see the wifi+ icon anytime I happen to notice it, and I rarely make calls but frequently toggle wifi, there must be something else that triggers it. Sending a text seems to do it as well as a call. And a longer wait might do it also.
So, now that I have done some more thorough experimentation, it seems that there might be a little bug there. Or it might just be related to the particular wifi network I'm on right now.
Just tested it on my home wifi for comparison, and wifi calling came on as expected within a couple seconds of enabling wifi, which would probably explain why I never noticed this happening before.

Thank you for your reply.
According to Rogers I am supposed to get that WiFi icon that tells me WiFi calling is enabled but I never do. Sounds like I should have similar experience as you do.
I have a ticket open with them and we will see what they reply with next.
Even though I don't have the icon I tried a few things to make sure if it is working or not. One is turning on Airplane mode and enabling WiFi. Go into settings and it says WiFi calling is being enabled. This always takes about 2 minutes to turn on however calling never actually works. It's like something is blocking the WiFi connection but I've tried 4 different WiFi networks. It seems like you get that WiFi calling enabled right away after connecting to WiFI.

Tmobo Wifi calling died after update

Anyone else's die after the update today? It used to say Wifi calling on the lock screen for tmobo now it just says T-mobile and my texts are not coming through.
Sigh...... I hope this doesn't happen every update.
***Update - I restarted twice and my wifi- calling came back. Not sure why it took two restarts.
New update - The wifi calling now randomly stops working. It has nothing to do with resetting the phone. Sometimes it'll work sometimes it wont. Needs further testing.
It's been fine for me friend. Make sure your APN settings are still correct

network issue

I have X01BDA. I'm using dual sims from airtel.
There seems to be some issue with network strength. Randomly, at any time of the day, both of my sims loose network completely. I recover network after 4 or 5 seconds.
I read somewhere in Asus forums that wiping cache in recovery will fix the issue. I tried that, but it didn't work.
I am attaching screenshots below. As you will see in them, airplane mode isn't turned on, otherwise it's icon will be lit up blue and there will be its icon visible on the task bar.
Both sims are working fine on other phones.
I am on stock ROM, unrooted, bootloader locked.
Same here too. I am using Jio and Airtel. Jio sim faces total signal drop occasionally most commonly while the phone is locked.
I took my Zenfone to asus service centre last weekend. they kept my phone with them for 2 hours waiting for the network drop event to occur. sadly, it didn't happen in front of them. I have showed them video proof taken with a screen recorder, but they needed to capture that event in real time to find what is causing the issue. As per them, hardware is fine, so that has been crossed out of the list.
Same problem here. Have you found solution? Thank you.
