I work at a shop and someone brought me a Yoga Tab 3 8" tablet that was on a screen that asked for an original google account.
It was purchased without much thought because i figured it was just part of the setup.
No this is actually a Device Protection feature google has had since Lollipop apparently.
There is a way around it if anyone is interested or is in a soft brick that they can access the recovery from.
NOTE :
THIS IS FOR THE YOGA TAB 3 8" YT3-850F ONLY!!!!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DESTROY YOUR TABLET! PLEASE BE CAREFUL. DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING FOR WRONG MODEL. CONFIRM YOUR MODEL NUMBER BY LOOKING ON THE BACK STICKER BEFORE PROCEEDING.
You will need :
A Computer
A Micro SD Card and Adapter
A couple of hours time
Patience...
Patience........
Firstly, as always, make sure the device is charged before attempting any of this please.
Download the stock firmware from This Link.
Do not extract the firmware at all or rename it, just leave it as it is, it will take about an hour to download.
After you have the firmware downloaded move the zip file to the root of the MicroSD Card on the computer.
Eject the SDCard from the computer and put it into the Yoga Tab.
Reboot into recovery by pressing Power and Vol+ let go of Power when you see the Lenovo logo.
Once in recovery go ahead and do a factory reset/data wipe.
The next step is to actually flash the zip you put on the MicroSD earlier. You go down to apply update from SD using the Volume + and -
buttons. Power to select an option. Select the Zip you downloaded from this guide.
it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to fully install the update. after it installs it will boot up like new again, with no Google Device Protection, and it is a possible way to unbrick!
Hello, Where did you find this firmware? I'm looking for Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 YT3-X50F. Thanks

It looks like a modified package from China. I successfully installed the zip file. After rebooting, the version noted was YT3-X50F_S000022_150714_PRC (which I presumed to be People's Republic of China). The update zip does not contain any Google apps (including Play Store).

That's correct; but you can just flash the Gapps 5.1.1 ("mini" package) from Cyanogenmod (that's what I did); and then once you've got superSU installed, remove the non-North American "store" apps ^_^

Sorry for the delay in my response, but yes, this is correct. Just flash the Google apps and you will be good to go. I'm not sure where I found the firmware but there is a link there to the download. I'm pretty sure I just dug around google alot and found a post to the firmware somewhere else on XDA but to tell you the truth it was actually really difficult for me to get google apps installed and working properly and this firmware sometimes would not flash it would just sit there saying opening update.zip for hours. Good thing the battery life on that thing was amazing.

A good starting point for this is to look into rooting and get a custom recovery. Then you can flash zip files, such as google play store.

You can flash the TWRP for the x50M and then install google apps. The recovery will not stay - it will revert back to stop recovery. Search XDA for TWRP-2.8.7.7_YT3-X50M.zip
Recover, install recovery, root
BEFORE ANYTHING.... unlock your bootloader
Install Drivers for Lenovo Tablet, So Adb can see your device
Open your Adb Command Windows (windows)
Commands!
Adb Devices ------- this should return a device Id # ... if it doesn't your drivers are not correct ....
Adb Reboot bootloader -------- this Should take you to the Big Lenovo Screen (it will stay there, this is fastboot mode)
Fastboot Devices ------- This Should Return The Device Id (except fastboot Device Id #)
Fastboot Oem unlock-go ------- This Should Unlock Your bootloader (allow flashing of custom firmwares, boot images, recoverys etc) THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!!!!
After unlocking bootloader
Flash this Stock Firmware (if you haven't already)
This is FULL STOCK FIRMWARE ... not an OTA zip...

Custom Built TWRP by Me... Enjoy
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1d...ew?usp=sharing
(this was based off the Twrp source that metalchef mentioned)
I recommend BOOTING it through fastboot if your only planning on flashing a few things and taking a single backup here and there... if you flash zips ALOT ... then just flash it ...
Fastboot Boot Recovery.img (this is the command you need inside of fastboot for booting recovery)
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (this is to flash recovery to tablet)
#Note# you need to put the recovery.img inside your adb folder... or drag and drop it to command window after typing "fastboot boot"
This will allow it to boot from any file path ....
To Gain Root ... Use Kingoroot , Un-intall the Superuser that kingoroot gives you ... get supersu (chainfire) from market and update the binary....
or flash supersu.zip through recovery
( I haven't tried to flash supersu because kingoroot worked) and ive exhausted so much time on the recovery ... im going to take a break ...
Afterwards .... You SHOULD have the device your seeking....

Hi Spungy168,
Please, how did you go about the flashing. Can you send me that tools & how? My tab Lenovo yoga 3 850F is bricked, please help?
Hi everyone,
I have a little problem with fingerprint with these 2 roms.
Normally I could add 5 fingers but I can only 3 max. If I try to configure the last 2, all my fingerprints dont work at all.
Moreover I can't delete fingeprints. When I try, they come back.
That is an issue which not occur with 6.0 custom roms.
Someone know how to fx it?
Thanks.
I'd suggest flashing the stock nougat 93-11 or 93-14 firmware (e.g. from the guides section) to resolve your fingerprint issues. Once that's done, future installs of lineage and RR should have fingerprint support for more than 3 fingers.
Thanks for replying.

I've got an XT1642 (UK - retGB, EMEA baseband) and updated to Nougat 93-11 using the stock files on here okay (now running Lineage with 4 FPs set).
The ROM I used to upgrade was the one linked here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/guide-install-official-december-nougat-t3518262 This will bring you up to the official 93-11 update via installing from stock recovery - you need Marshmallow build 139-63/64 however.
However, you may like to try either of these guides as well: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1640-43-athene-npj25-93-t3549369
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/android-7-0-install-nougat-official-t3531612
As long as you can successfully install a Nougat stock ROM onto your device, the updates should mean your fingerprint sensor works properly in the custom ROMs. Bear in mind that updating to Nougat may wipe your data and cause you to lose TWRP/root until you re-install them.
Last question: can I wipe system and internal storage before installing ressurection?

Once you've installed Nougat (and I recommend installing TWRP too), if you wish to install Resurrection Remix, only wipe system, data, Dalvik and cache. Don't wipe internal storage, since that's where your ROM zip is stored!

Required images for OTA:
aboot.img
cmnlib.img
modem.img
rpm.img
tz.img
boot.img
keymaster.img
recovery.img
sbl1.img
system.img
vendor.img
How to flash:
0. extract the zip file.
1. fastboot flash <image_name> <image_name>.img
I hope someone can share the international version, thanks guys
THIS IS MY TWRP BACKUP OF MY TICWATCH C2 INTERNATIONAL ANDROID 8.0 OWDS.181126.001
https://www.mediafire.com/file/c6cuj...CKUPS.rar/file
This is my stock copy, I backed up everything TWRP allowed me to, just in case.
I installed the Ticwatch C2 rom, and I'm getting pretty solid battery life, but I'm not able to update to PIE, since I get an error as I mentioned, even when I flash back to stock, and lock the bootloader, so we're confined to custom roms from now on, or to TWRP backups of PIE.
So if someone has a TWRP, or a stock firmware backup of some sort of PIE for the ticwatch c2, that would be amazing.

That might because the OTA script check more than only boot, system or vendor partition, and that leads to the exception.

You should be able to get the error report and see which partition doesn't pass verification from the recovery log. Also I updated the list of images that OTA required.

I use dd under TWRP recovery. You can also use TWRP backup.
As some users report incompatible of international build. Also there is no Pie rom for our global C2.
Can you read Chinese? If you just want to use Google play, use this:

I was using Bootleggers (8.1 Oreo ) ROM on my XT1686 and tried flashing Pixel experience (9.0 pie ).
Steps i went through:
1. Clean Wipe
2. Flashing Pixel Experience
3. Losing my network signals and IMEI
4. TWRP flashable 8.1 stock rom
5. Flashing the bootleggers 9.0pie update
6. Trying the erasemodemst 1/2 commands. NO result.
6. Restoring EFS and persist from the previous backup.
7. Ended up having IMEI back but still no network signals after multiple reboots.
I do know that flashing a STOCK ROM using fastboot and performing a clean reset will get my network back but will i have to stay back in the STOCK ROM ? Can nothing be done that allows me to keep using this amazing rom with a functioning network ?
TL;DR: NO NETWORK, IMEI AVAILABLE. EFS AND PERSIST BACKUPS ARE FLASHED ALREADY.

You didn't say from what ROM/firmware the persist.img backup was taken. If it wasn't from your original stock firmware that may be a problem. If it was from stock which version, 7.0 or 8.1?
If you flash a 8.1 signed fastboot firmware you should be able to change to every ROM you want to afterwards.

Most probably the problem was to switch from 7.0 stock to a custom ROM, you should have updated to stock 8.1 and make a backup of persist before doing that. The persist.img will be modified when flashing a custom ROM.
If you haven't flashed someone else's persist file the best way to go would be flashing a signed Motorola 8.1 firmware by fastboot, take a full nandroid incl. persist and go from there to a custom ROM.
Here's how to do it and links to all available firmwares:

Thanks alot for your help and timely response.
Hello,
Did someone know how to if there are a twrp file for this model? I didn't manage to find one. I bought a lenovo vega 3 plus .thinking it was a yt-x703f.
I try the tutorial for the yt-x703f but it didn't work.
I wanted to install lineage OS on it.
I try to use magisk to root it by patch the boot.img, but the tablette become stuck on bootloop.
Hello. You can actually root the tablet but it is a bit tricky. For that install the Lenovo rescue and smart assistant and download the latest stock ROM on your device and flash it. The Lenovo rescue and smart assistant will be downloading the stock ROM to a folder on C:\Program data\RSA. Inside that folder you will see another folder with your stock rom. Get the boot.img file, patch it using magisk and flash it from fastboot. Also note that you need to have an unlocked bootloader to flash boot.img from fastboot

Ohh okk. Next time you can try a GSI. It can give you a significant performance boost over stock rom
